The forbidden list of foods is extensive, but The Low-FODMAP Cookbook combines both taste and nutrition to create delightful recipes. The book includes a low-FODMAP eating plan that explains in detail which foods are not allowed and why. These recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are so simple and delicious, they'll appeal to the whole family!

Title: A wonderful low-FODMAP cookbook with excellent photography!
Review: My wife has been having digestive issues and her gastroenterologist recommended that she try a low-FODMAP diet. So we looked for low-FODMAP information and cookbooks at Amazon and selected this book. It turned out to be a treasure trove of well-researched information on low-FODMAP diets, the reasons that this diet will help, and delicious recipes that make this rather severe diet very palatable! The book is soft-bound, but the cover is a very nice-feeling, heavy material that should stand up well to heavy use. In addition, it has fold-over flaps on both the front and back that make very handy bookmarks. The introductory chapters are obviously very well researched and provide a great overview of why and how this cookbook was developed. We learned so much about why FODMAPs are a problem and how to avoid them in your diet. The recipe sections are very well laid out, making it easy to assemble the ingredients and prepare the recipes. And the photography! This author is a gifted food photographer – the photos are easily among the best I have ever seen. The colors and textures of the food just pop! The pictures are a great incentive to prepare the dishes with the same style and artistry of the author.I will make special mention of a few of the recipes that we have tried so far. The standout is the Maple Marinated Salmon with Sesame Spinach Rice. Low-FODMAP or not, this is the best salmon recipe we have ever had. Highly recommended! If soups are your thing, the Chicken Stock (Bone Broth) is the best beginning for chicken soup ever. It is loaded with rich flavor that makes a simply great soup. We simmer the stock in a slow cooker for 24 hours, then divide it up into 1-cup containers and freeze it for future use. What’s dinner without dessert? The Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies are a hit around this house! Delicious! In conclusion, this is a great cookbook, loaded with delicious recipes and great photography. You will not be disappointed!

Title: LOVE. THIS. BOOK.
Review: I'm very pleased with this cookbook. Even though I've only tried two recipes thus far, they were both excellent. I love the layout of the book: main dishes, side items, even desserts get their own category. My husband is able to eat as he wishes but he's sort of on this low-FODMAP journey with me since there are only so many dishes I have time to prepare. The chicken salad is excellent - I left out the celery as I don't care for it and added pineapple and it was so good that I have already made it twice. The other dish that I tried is a chicken recipe that turned out very well. It had instructions for making your own honey mustard, which I appreciate, because I have really missed being able to eat sauces and dressings and I had yet to get a handle on how to make my own as I am still early in the process of changing my eating habits. This book makes me feel like eating this way is more sustainable than I previously believed possible. As of right now, I'm more comfortable cooking at home than I am going out because even if people say they will prepare your food with only salt & pepper as seasonings the reality is that you're not back there cooking with them and I'm nervous about getting sick now that I have some of this stuff out of my system. I would HIGHLY recommend this book. When I first started this diet I was looking online at various blogs and I tried a few tasteless recipes but this really allows you to have the flavor I crave and feel more normal.4/27/17: I wanted to provide an update on my review. Over the past couple of weekends I have made several more recipes from this cookbook including the following: meatloaf, two types of salmon, a Mediterranean pasta dish with blistered tomatoes and beef stew. The pasta dish and the salmon with broccoli and roasted red potatoes were very popular with my husband. I made the beef stew in my Crock Pot and again, rave reviews from my husband. The low-FODMAP diet has changed my life. I am no longer suffering from painful side effects of eating high-FODMAP foods and I am able to look forward to my meals again. I love the variety of recipes offered as I do not want mealtime to be boring. I hope to try some dessert recipes this weekend.

Title: Nice starting point!
Review: My husband was recently diuagnosed with IBS, and I already have food allergies on top of that, so cooking for our family has gotten very complicated. This book has really helped though. Lots of pictures, and a ton of great recipes for "normal" foods that we actually want to cook. My only drawback so far is that the seasonings are a little off, in my opinion. The spaghetti sauce in particular was extremely salty, and had so much basil and overpowering bay leaf flavor that it ended up being inedible. It's a good starting point for creating my own version, but I woulkd definitely recommend that you start with maybe half of the measurements called for asnd go from there.

Title: Delicious Recipes & Easy to Follow
Review: Love this cookbook. I have been suffering with IBS and I have tried several recipes already. They instructions are really easy to follow, delicious and I am hoping Dianne Benjamin comes out with another cookbook. In the beginning of the cookbook she explains the digestive orders so well. and also gives you some shopping tips. I am happy with this book I have tried a few of these and I have not been disappointed yet. I am feeling better already and making better choices at the grocery store. Family fave, is the Greek Quinoa Salad and the Chicken Salad with pecans and grapes is awesome! I can go on and on. The only thing I wish it had was a calorie and fat intake with the recipes but I am not complaining I lost 5 pounds and so far keeping my IBS under control.
