Title: So easy to use and understand
Review: I have looked for a long time for an easy to understand simple Chinese Cookbook. This one really fits the bill. The ingredients are easy to find. Many of the recipes use the same ingredients but they all create different flavors. So far the taste of the finished product has been more than expected.

Title: Loved this Cookbook
Review: Everything in this cookbook is simple and easy to make and all the ingredients are available in your local supermarket. What I also liked was there were dipping sauces available in this cookbook to make with some of the recipes. And with little prep and cook time I call that better than takeout.

Title: True to its' title: EASY Chinese...
Review: The moderate price and "promising" title were both big come-ons to me and I am not disappointed. The font is a bit larger, breathing room between each written line making it easy on the eyes. Full-page colored pictures for each of the numerous brief chapters. Will be trying many of these recipes. I'm a happy homemaker with this book.

Title: Okay, not great
Review: I bought 3 Chinese cookbooks to help me prepare Chinese foods for my family. I bought this one, Every Grain of Rice, and a third on wok stir-frying. This cookbook is okay. We liked the Chicken Peanut Satay cookbook, but the sauce was good for 2 chicken thighs. The directions left out one of the ingredients, so you have to logically deduce when you should add it. If you place three in the bag, not enough sauce gets on the chicken. The sauce the cookbook recommends was okay, but not great. Then, I made a second recipe- the Mongolian Beef. I had pork unhand, so I made it with pork. My family really liked the recipe, but I added broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms to it. Also, I would change it next time. I wouldn't add the crushed ginger (since I use it from a convenient jar) until I add the meat--not before. When I added it before as the recipe said, it splattered everywhere and I had to wait to cook the meat until it settled down. It's not really saucy, but actual Chinese food isn't. I wouldn't double the sauce because that would be too much. I would probably give this cookbook 3 1/2 stars--marking down for the omissions and modifications I have needed to make to recipes.

Review: This is a great Chinese cook book. The recipes in this book are quick and easy. I have been doing Chinese cooking for decades and this book taught me more than a few things. The author gives tips for each recipe. Like cooking long grain white rice in a strong tea instead of water or stock. It is scarce on pictures and for those that like a colourful picture with every recipe this may not be for you. You can always go on-line to obtain a picture of what the dish will look like. I am well pleased to add this book to my collection.

Review: I prefer paper cookery books but from time to time I can’t resist a bargain and I picked this up for 99p as an ebook. I’ve downloaded to iPad and iPhone and it works well on both. Useful to have on the phone as it means I can check a recipe whilst out shopping and see if I have all the ingredients. It’s well laid out with working hyperlinks and a tasty and interesting range of recipes. They’re easy to follow and there are no obscure ingredients. He’s not an author I know, but I like the way he writes and his explanations so I’d be happy to recommend this book and I’ll certainly look for others by the author.
