Title: How could you not love this book?
Review: This book contains some wonderful recipes, but there are lots of good recipe books like that. This book has a GREAT format that sets it apart from "common" recipe books - one recipe per page, font is easy to read, lots of pictures! There is room in the margins or at the bottom of the page for notes, changes, etc. I have the date of the first time I made the recipe and any "sous chefs" (my kids) written on the side margin - there are lots of recipes marked. While most of the recipes are good or better, there are several recipes that have become my absolute favorites - One Bowl Brownies, Deep Dark Chocolate Cake (the best for a chocolate fix!!!), Chocolate Chunk Coffee Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies (yum!). There are a few recipes that use prune puree instead of fat that I haven't had good luck with but that may be lack of experience. If I ever want to bake and don't know what, I can get this collection out and I will always find something. I still try out new recipes from this book even though I've had it 15 years and there are more I want to try but haven't gotten to yet!The best thing about this book is that I can browse the pages and see if I've made something, how it turned out, suggestions for alternate ingredients, how my family liked the recipe (or not). My oldest date is 12-3-97 for Original Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies. My favorite comments are those from the kids saying THEY made the recipe and how I liked it! If you don't write in your books...you should!
