Title: Nice assortment of pieces
Review: Nice intro to Chopin or just a nice little album for relaxing and doing other things while listening - as usual - NAXOS puts out a fine recording and the selections and the performances are excellent. Do not make the mistake of thinking you always need the top names currently around in performances. NAXOS never puts out an inferior product.

Title: A CD worth buying
Review: This CD is very much worth buying but there were a couple of songs I didn't much like on it so I rated it as a 4 instead of 5. although I am not an expert on sound quality of music this CD has a good sound as far as I am concerned.

The disc comprising thirteen pieces covers the whole spectrum of Chopin's oeuvre.The reading is elegant and conveys convincingly the composer's idiom of nuance exploration and discreet harmonies. The good quality sound possesses distinct clarity; the Naxos label is humble only in price.In the disc we listen to well known and beloved melodies which include Etude No. 3 in E major; Prelude No.15 in D flat major, 'Raindrop'; Nocturne No.2 in E flat major; Polonaise No.6 in A flat major, 'Heroic'; Waltz No.6 in D flat major, 'Minute'; and the elegiac movement Larghetto of Piano Concerto No.2 in F minor.A fine introduction to Chopin's oeuvre and a relaxing hour to the Chopin connoisseur.

Review: Die "The Best-of-Reihe" von NAXOS bietet Aufnahmen in hervorragender Klangqualität und ausgezeichneten Interpretationen. Auch wenn es sich hierbei nicht um so bekannter Orchester, Dirigenten und Sänger wie bei der "Best-of-Serie" von der Deutschen Grammophon bzw. Decca handelt, sind diese Aufnahme nicht weniger hörenswert. Die CD vermittelt dem Anfänger einen guten Überblick über das musikalische Schaffen des jeweiligen Komponisten. Aber auch für den Kenner sind diese Aufnahmen zeitlos.Ob es sich hierbei immer um die besten Stücke handelt, sei dahingestellt, weil eine solche Auswahl immer nur subjektiv sein kann. Trotzdem kann ich diese Reihe nur empfehlen.
