From the test kitchen of America’s iconic lifestyle magazine, recipes and tips for participating in or hosting a holiday cookie exchange—includes photos.

Butterscotch Fingers, Chocolate Crinkles, Gingerbread Cut-Outs, Peppermint Meringues: all these Christmas cookies sound delectable, but nobody can bake dozens of recipes at the same time. The solution? A swap! All across America, families, neighbors, community, and church groups gather at Christmas cookie swaps, where each participant brings a large batch of his or her favorite recipe to share. Everyone fills a plate or tin with samplings of the tasty treats; the more people, the merrier—and the more kinds of cookies to try. It’s a fun way to enjoy a variety of Christmas tastes without doing all the work yourself—and to celebrate with those you love.

Good Housekeeping helps home bakers enter into the joy, camaraderie, and pure deliciousness of this tradition with a new collection of 60 favorite Christmas cookie recipes from around the world—each configured to make batches of at least eight dozen cookies. Choose from holiday classics and contemporary twists; they’re easy to make with everyday ingredients. And each recipe has been triple-tested for success in the famed Good Housekeeping Test Kitchen, so you can bake with confidence. For extra help, there are also great tips on techniques and shortcuts, as well as fun ideas for throwing the best cookie swap ever.

Title: Wonderful recipes
Review: I was looking for some traditional recipes and this fit the bill! The linzer recipe and the lemon heart recipes are my favorite. I halved the recipes because I wasn’t doing them for exchanges this year and it worked out fine.

Title: CROWD PLEASER TO 15 BAKERS
Review: This is one of five cookie swap cookbooks I bought for a group of 15 "swappers." I bought this based on the reviews, and we were not only pleased, we were ALL thrilled. DO YOU KNOW THE ODDS OF THRILLING 15 WOMEN WITH THE SAME COOKBOOK?!?!?! (too many zeros) We had such a blast with the results for our Thanksgiving bake-a-thon and swap, that we all did it again not just for our own Christmas dinners, but for our churches and needlework/quilting clubs. Since then, most of us have baked from these books for charity fundraisers, taking to the local Fisher House and Veterans hospitals/homes, and other charity work.Just guess what we're doing again this fall - yep: finding new recipes to try from these same five books!

Title: A Nice Book
Review: This book had a lot of good recipes. I expected more from Good Housekeeping. Not many photos. Good recipes alone just isn't good enough. You need a lot of photos. If you can't see the finished product how do you know if you want to bake it?

Title: Great recipes
Review: This book has some wonderful recipes in it and in appropriate sized batches for sharing with friends and family. Try the Chocolate Crinkle cookies... they are a bit of work, but SOOOOO worth it! They are simply the best cookies that I have ever had!

Title: Good for cookie swaps.
Review: I liked the variety of cookie choices by category. Also as a facilitator of a cookbook book club, I chose this book for our Cookie swap. It was very helpful to have the large batches of cookies per recipe, to be baked. Highly recommend.

Review: be warned this book is an american book so it is in cups. i bought this book to make large quantities of biscuits for a school bake sale. the recipes look lovely and its in a lovely format (an A5 ring binder with blank pages at the back of the folder). i have made two of the recipes and they havent turned out well at all. either the taste was bland or the raw mixture was really hard to handle. i wish i hadnt wasted my money on it.

Review: This is a cute little mini book. Hard cover and spiral bound. The inside cover has a small spot to write "To" and "From". It has nice pictures of the cookies. Some of the recipes are the same old Christmas cookie recipes. But there are some new ones that are good. I feel it was worth the money and is a cute addition to a Christmas gift for a cook. It would be a good gift for a person who is just beginning to bake or collect cook books.
