Title: Just ordered another copy!
Review: Ordered this for my daughter-in-law who loves seafood and spends summers on the Maine coast. I had to look through it first and I was impressed with the wide variety of recipes from so many cultures in addition to the appeal of the recipes. Now I have to order a copy for myself! It is a beautifully done book.

Title: Gorgeous but…
Review: “Seafood” is a gorgeous cookbook with a dictionary-level of info so A+ there. If you want to make simple dishes at home, I recommend Test Kitchen’s “Foolproof Fish.” If you want to level up, “Seafood” has recipes that would be in a fine-dining restaurant. I made the Tuna with Elderflower & Buttermilk Foam (p. 34) and it was incredible! My only issue is “Seafood” is heavy on shellfish (oysters, mussels, scallops, shrimp, crab, lobster), medium on calamari and octopus, and light on fish. Perhaps because each region has its own types of fish. Example, salmon on the west coast but arctic char on the east coast. So, I can buy ahi tuna, swordfish, Dover sole, cod, and red snapper in town. But there’s only 1 ahi tuna, 2 swordfish, and 0 Dover sole recipes out of 793 pages. Fortunately, there were more than 5 recipes each for cod and red snapper. It’s also heavy on the carbs as there’s pasta, beignets, quiche, wontons, et cetera. It’s not a steamed-fish-and-vegetables kind of cookbook if you’re worried about your health or waistline. But it’s perfect for a foodie treat or special occasion when you want to splurge on something delicious or make quite the presentation. For that, I think “Seafood” is a keeper! 🙂

Title: nice book full of great recipes
Review: I really like this book. More than just a few things I can make, but a multitude! Book came in 99.9% new shape. I'm nitpicking, but the one corner of the book is dented a little. I've collected most of the ultimate cookbook series by cider mill press. The only ones that don't interest me are the baking, desserts, and cocktail cookbook. I got all the rest in my collection, seriously. That should tell you something. they're all great books. I gave all the books i collected 4 stars because to find something you have to page through the back of the book and know the name of what food you are looking for. it'd be nice if they had a list of all the recipes listed in the front of the book with what page they are on. I'm eagerly awaiting Italy: the ultimate cookbook that comes out in dec 23.
