Title: Great espresso at a great price.
Review: Electric espresso makers typically cost $100 or more. This one makes good, strong espresso and even has the steamer attachment for less than half that. I make cappuccinos and frappucinos at home now instead of going to Starbucks. The steamer wand is slightly annoying to clean because it takes so long to screw the tip on and off, but for $40, who's complaining? Just make sure you get the top screwed on tight. I didn't quite get it tight enough once, and it weirdly made the steamer wand suck the milk into the water reservoir.

Title: Great little machine!
Review: I was concerned about buying a mini espresso maker, but it does a GREAT job for the money. Good for a morning espresso and really good for making an espresso martini.

Title: Good Value
Review: We make coffee with this every morning, and it tastes great. There are only a couple of minor things that I'll mention. The white paint indicating where to turn the knob for on\off is coming off.The plastic filter holder has a design flaw. It is to long and extends over the coffee grounds and blocks them from falling. The simple work around is to engage it to loosen the grounds, then use your fingernail to hold the filter in place. I burned myself several times before getting the hang of it, but that was part of the adventure! While the IMUSA is not a high-quality item, it works and is a nice find for someone on a budget.

Title: FIRE HAZARD ! Do Not buy.
Review: Numerous engineering problems with this model. Our house burned down due to an electronic device failure in 2016, therefore I feel it necessary to warn people about this coffee maker ’s fire hazard. (luckily nobody was injured as we were not home). I do not usually waste my time reviewing so I will only write about the problems. 1. The on/off/steam control knob is poorly designed. It is difficult to determine if the position is correct to turn the unit off because there is no click or clear detent to indicate off position. 2. The on/ off indicator light is dull and placed on one side so that you can only see it from the left. But the biggest problem happens when the coffee has been brewed, the light goes off but the internal heating chamber continues to stay on and cycles on and off. If you haven’t remembered to put the knob in the correct off position (and hope it is off) the heating chamber continues to cycle on and off even when empty. The light will stay off for about 9 minutes or more (I timed it) as the empty chamber cools, but the internal thermostat will continue to cycle the empty heating chamber, the light comes back on, indicating the empty chamber is heating and goes back off and on cool and heating cycles. This happens even after you have had time to drink your coffee and head out for the day, etc. I will admit that I discovered this because I forgot to turn the knob into the off position, from the brew position. The light went out so I thought it was off and then I saw it go back on by itself to cycle the heating chamber. This is the reason why I am sending it back. 3. The port where you pour the water in has a metal crossbar that impedes the water you pour down into the heating chamber, thus splashing and making more cleanup. but could also splash onto or get into the on/off control knob and cause possible electronic malfunction, spark, and fire. Lastly, I bought this coffee maker to replace a similar Krups unit that had a very bright on/off light on the front and a clear “click" for on or off position. The on light was in the middle so it was visible from the left or right. I hope this helps keep you and your family safe. It was a floor model dehumidifier that failed and caught fire to burn down our house. Check you electronic appliance and devices by searching for recalls online. we were the 61st house fire caused by a faulty electronic switch in the recalled dehumidifier. When you buy it new, register your appliances if possible with the manufacturerUnplug your electronic devices and appliances (as applicable )when you leave the house.!!!!I could not find a new Krups replacement other than a $299.99 unit.

Title: Love it! Great for making my own Americano daily
Review: Edit to add: One small complaint after using it for a couple weeks. The little tab that holds the filter in when you cash out the used beans is too long.It sits over the grounds so they don't come out in a solid clump. Just another small step to wipe it off when I wipe the top of the filter off before attaching back on the machine. Still didn't stop me from buying a second one for backup when I destroy this one from overuse. I make 4 to 5 cups a day now. Also, some reviews complain about the lack of crema. True with my first few brews until I adjusted my bean grind. It's not the machine... It's their beans. Try a finer setting on the grinder and you'll get the crema.Original review: Can't comment on the frother. Don't use it, don't need it. My drink is an Americano. First I brew plain water while getting My shots and cup ready. Not only do I have my hot water ready to add to the shots, I'm sure the machine is clean before brewing the coffee. As soon as the water is brewed, I take the lid off and add the water for My shots. While that's heating up, I add some hot water to My cup to melt the sugar then add the beans to the machine and let the shots brew. I always add more water than needed. When my shots are done, I add them to My cup, cash out the used beans, then run the remaining water thru the machine to rinse it. The machine gets turned off and unplugged. The carafe gets a rinse and it's all ready for the next use. I add a bit more hot water to My cup, give it a stir, add My creamer, dump the remaining hot water and I'm all set. Perfect for me cup of coffee! My last machine lasted a good 4 years of making 2-4 Americano espressos a day. It finally gave out when I had to move 5 times in one year and had to keep it stored in a plastic tub instead of in the counter. It took some abuse being packed away after each use before it died. I couldn't find this unit to replace it at that time. I had to buy a more expensive machine. That other brand was CRAP! Even after a year, I could smell the plastic heating up, was way louder, constantly burned myself, and it took multiple washes when new to stop tasting like plastic. It was like the steam came out of the lid instead of down to brew. When I saw this unit available again and cheaper than years ago, I ordered one right away. The day it arrived I washed all the parts, wiped down the machine, set it up, and ran water thru it only 3 times before brewing some coffee. Right away the machine did not fill my place with toxic fumes. That other brand caused me all sorts of reactions from the toxins for the first month. Not this little beast. The first cup of coffee tasted just like my 4 year old Imusa before it died. I had no 'new plastic' taste. No offgassing of the machine.Coffee is my happy place and the other brand I dealt with the last year took the joy away. I'm so thrilled to have this Imusa back again. I just hope it lasts as long, if not longer, than my first Imusa. I'm very tempted to buy a second one to keep on hand as a back up so I don't have to deal with a more expensive crap machine again. Why not? $30 machine lasted a good 4 years vs a $60 machine that gave me trouble daily for less than a year before I gave up on it.

Review: Let me start by saying I really enjoy good quality coffee, and regularly go out for a treat to my favourite shop so that I can have top quality! I purchase this unit before Christmas, more of curiosity than anything, as I wanted an espresso maker, but didn’t know where to start without a huge cost! I’m honestly flabbergasted at this little unit. It pressurizes well, and provides a decent espresso! My preference is latte, so having the steamer on the side, integrated, works quite well! As soon as the water has heated enough to begin the brewing process, just switch the dial to steam, prepare your milk, returning to coffee ‘mode’ once your milk has been perfectly steamed! Given the previous reviews, I’ve been careful to treat this machine well by unplugging it when not in use, and releasing the steam pressure after each use. I actually keep it unplugged, just in case I forget to roll the dial to off. It’s been over two months, and I am very pleased with all that it has offered! Unquestionably worth the price in my mind!

Review: A lot of people saying that the pump is only good enough for ________. There is no pump. It works by pressure created by steam. The reservoir only has enough room for a small amount of water. Maybe two cups worth. Enough for about two shots of espresso and just enough to steam your milk for a latte. I’ve only just bought this and haven’t used the frother at all yet. It does work though. What’s important to me is the espresso. That works great. Can’t expect much for under $300. Way under $300. If you want higher quality, expect to spend a whole lot more.
