Title: 4.5 years in and still working.
Review: Last week it occurred to me, my coffee was taking a half hour to make. So I decided to do a cleaning, which I'm not good at doing as often as I'm supposed to. We have hard well water, so when I did the vinegar/water clean, it just gave up. I guess it got clogged. So I started shopping for a new coffee maker. Bought a Ninja in a hurry. Then I thought I better read the reviews on it. My goodness, Im glad I did. A handful of people said that their coffee maker started boiling, melting, popping, and smoking. So I sent it back. After reading tons of reviews on different makers, I became sad and decided I'm gonna make this one work. I had read from someone else's review that you can use a descaler. It worked!!! I am so happy it worked. I was using my cheap Black and Decker as a backup and realized what good coffee Hamilton makes, especially with the bold button. It now takes only 10 minutes for 4 cups with the bold button. Keep in mind Hamilton is going on 5 years old. Nowadays, everything being made cheap, I think that's a long time. So I am happy about this coffee pot and appreciate what a good cup of coffee it makes. By the way, it makes a very hot cup of coffee. No leaking. No breaks. Besides it clogging, which is my fault, I haven't had any problems with it. A good buy!

Title: Does what it's supposed to do
Review: We really like this coffee maker so far! It's very straightforward, without complicated extra frills. Although it DOES have the option for a stronger brew, which is always a must have for me.The single serve option works really well! Just use your coffee cup to measure how much water to add to the reservoir, scoop some grounds and brew. Easy peasy. One thing I noticed, however, is that the coffee splashes back and can make a bit of a mess when using a shorter cup. I remedied this to some extent by inverting the drip tray, so the cup sits higher, and therefore closer to where the coffee is coming out. It does not take k cups, nor is there any fancy contraption to put your grounds in. It's literally just a little mesh filter. For the carafe side, measure how much water you need with the carafe and pour it into the reservoir. Some might prefer a removable reservoir, but I've had issues with those leaking in the past, so I'm a fan of this. All in all, we are pleased with the simplicity of the machine and the quality of the brew. I've seen similar coffee makers at higher prices, so I think this one was definitely worth giving a try!

Title: Great so far
Review: I was looking for something to replace my Keurig, which I was on my second one and beginning to really hate the whole Keurig expensive process-both fizzled out in less than 2 years. But the convenience of having a single serve when you need it was too much to overlook after searching for tons of different models, that could do both a full pot and single, this one seemed to make the most sense. The single serve says you can only put in 14 ounces but I put two full cups 16 ounces and it works just fine. I love that you could put a really tall Tumblr under it. The single serve has an adjustable base for smaller cups, but I find this to be cumbersome and donât use it. I just stick the cup under there and it works still fine. Itâs a simple machine easy to use and you can still ask for a bold cup or pot. good buy for the price, especially

Title: Nice Coffee Pot.... BUT!
Review: The Coffee pot was nice looking. The single serve is a nice touch when you only want one cup. Easy to remove the coffee grinds out the filter. The Coffee comes out hot and fast delivery. The only thing is that you won't know when it's finished because there no beeping to alert you. The Negative is that the coffee pot carafe glass stains. Even when u cleaning it good. You will have to buy dentures cleaning tablets to clean it good if you want to stains gone. Other wise so good as far, I will see how long it take to break.

Title: Excellent brewer!
Review: So far, (6 months in) we are really satisfied with this coffee maker. I like how we can prep 2 separate sides for morning brew as people are drinking at different times of day. The single cup side does not brew as hot as the carafe side, but its still a nice temperature. The carafe side is where we are really impressed. This hot plate is excellent! Does not leave the coffee tasting burned. After brew, let the coffee rest on the plate for a few minutes for an extra hot cup! Then as you go back, the coffee continues to stay hot while retaining fresh flavor without the burned taste you commonly get from other machines. My only wish, is that this model came with a reusable coffee filter for the carafe side, as it does come with one for the single serve side. You would have to purchase one separately; however we were able to reuse one from an old machine. Overall this is a budget friendly coffee maker with some cool features and makes a nice cup of joe!

Title: This is the one!
Review: We've only had this coffee maker for a few days but we couldn't be happier with it. It's everything we wanted. It's very nice looking. We think it's very well made and simple to use. The ability to make a pot of coffee, a single cup or a large travel mug makes it perfect. It comes with a nice screen filter for the cup/mug side.I always liked the idea of the little pods but didn't like the cost or the amount of plastic waste. This coffee maker solves that problem. I can now buy and make flavored coffee without having to make an entire pot.I recommend this coffee maker for the quality, looks, price and the ability to make just the amount you want. It's light-weight but still of good quality. It's easy to add water without spilling. It's everything we wanted in a coffee maker. The coffee tastes great, too!

Review: For many years, the best-tasting and most flavourful coffee we ever made has been with our Drip-O-Lator, made by Enterprise Aluminum in Macon Georgia. We bought this for cottage-use a long time ago--when they were still being made--at Robinson's General Store in Dorset Ontario. Later, we bought another, and then, they disappeared from the market. It was very cheap to buy and is simple to use: Measure the amount of cups you want into the middle of three graduated marked canisters; pour the required amount of boiling water into the upper marked canister, and wait a bit until it dribbled through into the bottom part of the coffee pot. Later, we had it dribble directly into a thermos butler, rather than into the pot on the wood stove. When we could get it, we used fresh spring water gushing from a woodsy hillside outcrop. That is a perfect coffee, always, fresh-ground or pre-ground---either way. When our Cuisinart maker with the built-in grinder stared leaking all over the counter at home, I research all available options for a new one. We took a chance on this Hamilton Beach, with mostly(not all) good ratings noting its low price. This machine, in its first days of use, rivals the Drip-O-Lator in flavour and even in simplicity of use. I can't fathom the truthfulness of the critical reviews. The single-serve side is not messy, and the flavour is first rate. We bought the crinkly made-in-Canada basket for the multi-cup side, and the results are just the same on both sides, using Nabob Bold Full City Dark. This water is from a well, hydrogen peroxide treated and softened, but judging by the results, that seems perfectly fine. The Cuisinart never made compelling coffee, even in fresh-grind mode. The pre-heated urn never kept things warm and it was messy to pour in its necessarily upside-down position. The Hamilton Beach is very economical, seeming to deliver the same volume of brewed of coffee as the water that is poured in. Access to the water tank is convenient, and the graduated lines are very visible. The single-serve side takes a tiny bit of coffee grounds in the bottom of the stainless mesh basket, and then the amount of coffee you want to drink is poured into the upper chamber from the cup you'll be drinking it from. Finally, the machine has a name that's easy to pronounce and spell---this Chinese make (I guess) does not have a pretentious European name, like the other Chinese machines. The Cuisinart , even in fresh-grind mode, never made compelling coffee. At home, our Cuisinart coffee maker with

Review: Bought this after my second Keurig brewer went on the fritz. I wasn't willing to pay another hundred-and-something dollars for a brewer that only brews expensive single cups and only lasts 2-3 years. This seemed in line with what I was after and the reviews were very positive -- not to mention, the price was right -- so I went for it. I've been using it every day for 2 weeks now and I've been very happy with it.It does NOT accept typical single-serve pods as a Keurig or similar brewer would, only "pads" which are essentially just individually-packaged grounds wrapped in a filter. This is actually fine, though, since these can be found here and there for about 25 cents each, which is a whole lot cheaper than the Keurig-compatible pods -- although selection is necessarily narrower, so if you're choosy about your coffee that might be a drawback. (Side note: teas are quite easy to find in this form factor and brew very nicely.) But that's where the built-in single-cup mesh filter and carafe side come in. You can use the grounds of your choice to make either single cups or any-size (up to 12 cup) pots -- and you can actually make a *strong* single cup, which is a neat trick that I like very much.It has a functional auto-brew setting and seems easy enough to clean.Very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended.
