Oxalate are simple molecules found in the leaves of many plants. For some susceptible people, when excessive amounts of oxalates are ingested, the oxalates bind with calcium in the blood and cause both damaging swelling and precipitation in the form of kidney stones. Lowering the oxalate intake in the diet is a way to prevent stone formation, reduce systemic swellng and, in general, achieve better health.
The dilemma, however, is that a low-oxalate diet can lead to the avoidance of otherwise very beneficial foods, such as greens. That is why we developed our Low-Oxalate Greens Powder. Enjoy as you would our other vegetable powders. Sprinkle on any food, one spoonful equals an entire serving of vegetable intake.
Incorporating our Low-Oxalate Greens powder into your diet is a healthy way to get the benefit of vegetables without the hassle. Sprinkle on any food at breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even on your snack. Helps picky eaters get their vitamin intake in a natural healthy way.
Our favorite way to use our Low-Oxalate Greens Powder is folded into scrambled eggs or sprinkled liberally over soft-cooked eggs.
Ingredients: Organic lacinato ("dino") kale, mustard leaves and collard greens. Nothing else. Non gmo. Gluten free. Organic.

Title: May be one of the healthiest green powders out there
Review: I use green powder to supplement, and I've tried a few out there. What makes this one special is that the creators are aware of the oxalate issue and have taken the time to find the lowest oxalate greens they can raise to use for this product. If you aren't aware, oxalate is an antinutrient in plant life that can be very detrimental to human health. It's correlated to kidney stones, can inhibit the absorption of minerals, and there is growing evidence that it is also connected to inflammatory conditions such as fibromyalgia and autism, if not others. The container this green powder came in is probably the sturdiest I have seen for a green powder, short of finding something in metal. It feels like it's ceramic or something similar. Which is good, because a lot of green powders come in bags and bags aren't very sturdy, and many that don't come in bags come in lighter plastic. The price point seems a bit steep at first, but considering that you are getting high quality ingredients and this is the only product of its like on the market that I'm aware of, you can factor that into the cost. And there are plenty of greens powders out there that are arguably lower quality but charge the same or higher on a per serving dose. When I use green powder I throw some in my smoothie since that's how I start my day and I try to supercharge it with good ingredients that will keep me going strong. Adding this to my smoothie, there was a faint difference in taste, because this is pure greens and no additives. I could somewhat tell it was there, but if I hadn't added the powder myself I wonder how obvious it would have been. That being said, the taste was definitely more subtle than some other green powders I've used, and the bitter, earthy part of the green that people usually dislike was obscured nicely by the other stuff I put into my smoothie. I'd say you might know this stuff is in there if you use it in a similar fashion, but it isn't super obvious. I know some people drink green powders in straight water but that's not really something I do, so I can't comment on how this stuff tastes without anything else.

Title: Simple perfection.
Review: This is simple perfection. It’s low oxalate which is perfect for me due to my thyroid issues. It doesn’t suck in taste and there are no herbs, vitamins or other things that really shouldn’t be in there which is a problem with most of the other green powders on the market. I can add it to my breakfast drink and not gag. It comes in a glass jar, which is really nice.Instead of buying V8 (which I haven’t in ages because of the stuff they put in it), get some Pomi tomato sauce (Pomi is pure, they don’t add anything to it), add some water and the green powder to your consistency and liking. I add a tiny splash of tobasco sauce. Great way to get your greens and a good food dose of potassium.

Title: Delicious and convenient
Review: I used this sprinkled in scrambled eggs which I loved. I don’t like eggs without veggies but I don’t have time to wash and cut veggies all the time. This was a convenient solution and I love the taste. My two toddlers also love it and won’t eat eggs I without this powder in it. Definitely enhances the taste!

Title: Great way to boost nutritional value
Review: I love this product! Can sprinkle it into soups, ghee butter, smoothies - it's a great way to sneak in bonus nutrition for picky eaters or those who are just looking to always improve nutritional value. The website for Dr Cowan's is super helpful, blog with ideas and serving suggestions. Container is beautiful although I wish they had a "sprinkle" cover likea traditional herb or spice

Title: Was not able to try do to product seal broken-unreturnable for replacement!
Review: Unfortunately I was not able to try this product and I am very upset that I am unable to return this product for a replacement. The seal on my jar was broken and I am very uncomfortable trying a product with a broken seal.

Title: Tastes very "grainy"
Review: I require a low oxalate diet, the powder is very grainy, does not dissolve in liquid. It's very hard to get down, even if I whirl it in the blender, it does not dissolve. It stinks to high heaven, too, think of broccoli and brussel sprouts in a jar.

Title: $50 for 4 oz?! Most green powders go for $25 for 16 oz!
Review: I was thrown off by "contains 50 servings” in the title, that's 50 teaspoon size servings. I typically use one of the provided scoops in other green powder containers with 16 oz of powder, and the scoops are about 1.5-2 Tablespoons per smoothie. With only 4.2 oz of powder I can only make 4-5 smoothies with this, for $50!! That makes the cost of the smoothie with frozen berries and soy milk upwards of $15-16 per smoothie! This is higher than most raw foods restaurants sell smoothies. I have kidney stones, so having low oxalate foods is important. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try, but this is price gouging all the way. It may be the best quality product on the market, but I won't be buying this product again, especially when I can just go to the store and buy the kale, chard, etc. fresh and put it in the Vitamix for 1/20th the cost of this powder.
