Title: If You Enjoy The Movies, You'll Love This Book !
Review: 160 pages of great black and white and color photography from the early days of the movies to the present time. Every page is a winner. Sure to bring back memories of the past. Each movie includes: A brief discussion and an Oscar Index, Type Casting, Behind the Scenes, and What Might Have Been. Movie fans will enjoy this in their libraries.

Title: Very, *very* superficial -- don't bother
Review: There are a lot of books out there which make lists of the best movies ever made; I should know, I own almost all of them. None of them are perfect, but almost all of them are better than this one.The only possible reason you might want this book is if you had no real knowledge of movies at all but felt like you wanted to get into them and needed a guide. In that regard, this book might work alright for you. But for everyone else, stay away. The problem is an astonishing lack of depth. The entire book is a very slim 160 pages, and the overwhelming majority of that is composed of pictures. You're only getting about 100-150 words per film, and these are the best films ever made, mind: you could write books about any one of them. You won't learn anything about the movie, and you won't appreciate it more after reading the entries. I honestly mean it when I say that you will get much, much more from Wikipediaing every film than from reading this bookAll things considered, if you're in the market for a "Best Movies Ever" type book, do not buy this one. Stephen J. Schneider's "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" is a great choice for an intelligent movie fan, as is "The A List: 100 Essential Films" if you're looking for something with a bit more analysis. From a more casual film watcher's perspective, Kinn/Piazza's "The Greatest Movies Ever" is a terrific choice. Just don't get this one

Title: so-so
Review: Obviously you'll quibble with some of the selections or rankings, which is probably the point of a book like this. A short synopsis of each film or some stories and trivia are included (example: Toto the dog from 'The Wizard Of Oz' made $125 a week in production; the munchkins made $50). Some nice behind the scenes photos are another highlight. Not an incredibly insightful book, but good to pass an hour or two.
