Uncomplicated composting with the OXO good grips compost bin. Designed to sit on countertops, bin is designed to keep composting bags tucked inside for a neat look. The 1. 75-Gallon/6. 62-Liter Capacity makes it perfect for culinary creatives, but the easy-to-use, stay-open lid makes it easy for anyone to use. The lid helps keep odors from escaping and the smooth interior makes it a breeze to clean, even if you don’t use composting bags. The convenient handle makes transporting the bin easy, and the handle folds down out of the way when not in use. The internal bucket is removable and dishwasher safe for thorough cleaning.

Title: Perfect Compost Bin for Everyday Use
Review: I love the OXO Good Grips Composter! It's so easy to open, even when my hands are full, which is super convenient when cooking. Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the smooth interior, and I haven’t had any issues with lingering smells. It contains odors really well, even when left for a few days. The design is sleek and compact, fitting perfectly on my kitchen counter without being an eyesore. Overall, it’s a well-made, functional compost bin that makes kitchen composting effortless. Highly recommend!

Title: Works great and actually looks good on my countertop.
Review: I’m pleasantly surprised by this container for my food scraps that I have to separate from regular trash and recycling. It looks nice and clean on my counter and the lid keeps any smell from escaping. Easy to use and easy to clean. I keep a green compostable bag as a liner.

Title: Awesome compost bin
Review: This works great and is definitely easy to clean. I keep it in a pot drawer, and it's nice that as I push the drawer, the lid just pops down, leaving my hands free, Great size, and the handle is nice to carry out to the compost bin. Recommend.

Title: Excellent kitchen compost bin, but
Review: This does not seal well enough to keep fruit flies away. It’s the right size, it prevents compost stink, looks nice in my kitchen and is very easy to transport and clean. I’ve had it fir 2 years and not a thing has broken. But the fruit flies! Ugh! Inwish thete was something I could do to create a good seal. Using an old sealable plastic container for now.

Title: Very well designed bin for kitchen
Review: I bought this a while ago to store kitchen scraps before adding them to my outside compost bin. It’s a nice size and doesn’t attract attention to itself. It’s not smelly, and I’ve never noticed any bugs. It’s easy to clean.Note: I did try compostable plastic bag liners, but they really don’t break down in my compost bin outside, despite their claims. Some reviewers said they don’t use liners. I’m hesitant to go that route because I think it’ll be messier to empty and require more cleanup. So I’m seeking paper bag liners, although the ones I’ve seen here are really too small for this bin.

Title: Sturdy and easy to clean
Review: We are using this to hold food waste that goes into our solar digester. It sits on the counter by the sink. Opens easily with one hand to drop things in. Easy to carry outside with the handle, and then the lid comes off and the inside is smooth and very easy to rinse or wash. Note that it does not prevent gnats or fruit flies, but we find that if we empty it every day we have no problem. You could also keep it in the refrigerator.

Title: Made the jump to sorting out my compostables to greenwaste.
Review: This one is just the right size, looks sharp and no smells. I bought the compostable bags to go inside and they keep it tidy and easy to take out to the big greenwaste bin.

Title: Odor free and very convenient
Review: Had a round compost bin with holes in the top before this one. You needed two hands - one to lift up the lid and one to put the stuff in the bin. Because of the holes, we always had those little annoying flies too, even if we used a charcoal filter in the top. This compost bin is so easy to use and clean. The lid component is a separate piece and lifts off for cleaning. I can put stuff in with just one hand (the lid is attached with a hinge) and because there are no holes, there is no odor and there are no little flies. No filters needed. It is very smooth plastic on the inside so it cleans incredibly easy. We use the compostable bags, which help keeps yucky stuff from sticking to the interior, but there is usually liquid that seeps through the bag. This bin has a comfortable and secure handle so taking it out to the compost heap without spilling is easy.Yup, this bin just makes storing compost stuff easy, makes taking it to the compost heap easy, and makes cleaning easy. Highly recommend!

Review: At $50 this is one of the most expensive pieces of plastic you may ever buy. It weighs only 700g so at $71/kilo it can cost more than your favorite cut of wagyu. My teenage kids (who quite inadvisably have access to my Amazon account) thought their normally spendthrift dad was finally and truly insane. But, if it lasts, I think it may be worth it. What you're paying for is design and simplicity. You're probably looking at the other cheaper models here on Amazon but why choose this one? Well, first of all it looks smooth and elegant with a Tesla vibe that isn't too boxy. This design also extends to the interior of the unit and the hinge. It's an esthetic that becomes functional because there are very few surfaces or creases for slimy bits to collect in and fester. As for that hinge it is a single solid (for plastic) piece that is less likely to break than most other 2-point plastic hinges which, if you've read the reviews, appears to be the failing of many other bins. The hinge and lid slide in and out easily for cleaning and bag replacement. The lid has a simple flared front edge for lifting and closing without any springs, clips or buttons which means you can easily operate the lid with the back or side of your otherwise messy hands (pretty much all the time when cooking) without getting it dirty. Also, it has a clever bag management system that hides the top edge of the bag This looks much better than a bag hanging over the sides) and it holds the bag securely in place so it's doesn't slide down when you throw in that particularly heavy piece of watermelon rind. Finally, the colour. It's the only bin I have seen in charcoal grey which, if it fits into your decor, is the best at hiding dirt when compared to black or white. It's true that beige is not bad at hiding dirt but, beige? Really? Of course if your tastes run to the funky or bold colours then this unit is is also not for you, but my goal is to call the least amount of attention to the ickiest part of my kitchen. Yes, I considered hanging it out of sight inside a cabinet door but constantly opening/closing a cabinet door and a then a lid - I cook a lot - is a time waster and yet another surface to clean. So if you need a luxury kitchen waste bin, look no further.

Review: I wasn’t sure if I really needed this, but it is fantastic. Holds the bag in place, no smell, no little flies hanging around, one hang open/close. Doesn’t take up much room. Looks fine on the counter and is easily cleaned. So much better than the government provided bins!

Review: Good size. Easy to clean. I don’t use ‘compostable bags’, they don’t work. Like the lid which stays open when putting in peelings etc. it’s an improvement on the last oxo bin I’ve had for the last ten years. Hope this one lasts as long.
