Title: Great Product
Review: I have a smooth electric cook top & wanted something higher power for chinese stir fry. I read the reviews of this item & overall they were not stellar. I decided to take a chance & order it anyway, and I have been very pleased. My take away's are:- yes, it is short, but still workable even w/out putting on top of something else.- it went together with no problem - instructions were clear. All the proper pieces were present & fit well. It didn't exactly match the picture, but still works great.- the wok is great, it is not too flimsy, but it is thin gauge which helps with heat transfer. The diameter of mine was 17" vs. 18" advertised.- the btu output is super ... you cannot operate on full output as it gets too hot, but variable control works great. My advice to you if you buy this:- buy a stainless coil scrubbing pad. You'll need that to remove the initial coating on the wok - soap & water will take hours. This also works to clean the wok after use w/o removing the "seasoning".- You need to season the wok or it will rust. It wok comes with seasoning instructions ... I looked at the wok shop's on youtube & did that instead. The only issue if you coat with oil & put in your oven at 450F is that you get a fair amount of smoke ... I used a vacuum hose to my stove vent to get rid of it.- You'll need a lid if you want to steam fish/vegetables... I'm using one from another large pot I had.Overall wok & burner works great. The heat output is fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to buy if you are interested in this type of item. I did see this same setup at Cabela's for 90 clams so this is a good deal.

Title: A Great Wok for the Price
Review: This wok was easy to assemble, though the instruction booklet covers multiple products, which can make it feel a bit overwhelming at first. Just focus on the part for your wok, and youâll be fine.About the rust complaints: theyâre likely due to improper seasoning. Hereâs what worked for me: wash it with soap, heat it on high until the grey coating changes color (this burns off the factory protectant), then add oil and let it cool completely. Done right, seasoning will keep rust away and improve the wokâs performance. It heats up quickly, handles high temperatures well, and is just the right size for my needs. The quality and design are excellent, especially at this price point. Overall, a solid buy for anyone looking to step up their cooking game.

Title: New to Woks
Review: Came in ok, no rust or protective film as some of the above reviews I read, but I cleaned and seasoned to start. Quick assembly. All is good. Gets super hot, can see why some say you may want some kind of metal box around the flame, if its windy, can cause less direct heat....and set a tad low....but works well for me, and can get super hot.Kind of a process of cleaning....but you know ahead of time what you're in for. But well worth the payout....good food 🙂

Title: Good value for the $50 I paid
Review: Decent setup for the $50 bucks I paid. Burner is a beast and does great for wok'ing. The kit is easy to assemble and straightforward. Just make sure to put the big ring on top where the wok sets. I had to re-do mine after using the big ring on the bottom. Don't be too picky or have too high of expectations for $50. Still, a superior value solution for wok'ing because most indoor gas ranges are simply too anemic in terms of gas flow and BTU's to achieve an acceptable stir-fry. I do wish that the free space between the burner shield and the bottom of the where the wok sits was covered, especially if there is a bit of wind when cooking outdoors. I may add a secondary wind screen in this area. Regarding the actual wok...it is made from mild steel. Don't do an oven seasoning on this bad boy. Just scrub the parafin off with hot soapy water as best as you can, then fire the burner up, and heat season the first round without oil. The steel will discolor significantly as you work the wok around. Once it has a uniform color, kill the heat and let the wok cool down a bit. Then, coat inside and outside with peanut oil and do the same process as before. Smoke will pour off the wok, but you will be left with a shiny black wok that is totally non-stick and will not rust (see pic). My first use with with wok was completely non-stick using almost no oil at all. So, overall the 4-stars is justifiable. P.S. - Don't use this indoors.

Title: Excellent wok, a little rust is normal!
Review: The wok is thick and very sturdy. The burner/stand is great but could be a bit sturdier (although it's fine). My wok arrived shiny with no rust. But it was covered in a lacquer/resin. The tough part is removing the resin and seasoning the wok. I've done this before with carbon steel woks and French carbon steel pans. It's different than what the directions say. But before that, remove the resin! The resin on the wok was unusually resistant to soap and water, so I softened it up and dissolved most of it by sponging on rubbing alcohol. Then I scrubbed and rinsed with a natural scrubber sponge, then used fine steel wool to remove all residue. This is relatively labor intensive. Nevertheless, some rust appeared immediately. But that is fine! If you really want to remove all traces of rust, use a green scrubber pad. Dry immediately, then begin the seasoning process immediately: heat the dry wok using a gas burner until the bottom turns blue. Let cool. Then saute a fair amount of sliced ginger root in two or so cups of vegetable oil (I say saute because a lower heat is used, just enough to sizzle the ginger root). Work the oil and ginger up the sides of the wok while moving around the ginger with your spatula to coat most of the bare metal, but be careful not to let the oil spill or splatter at all. Saute until the ginger looks cooked or crispy. Let cool a bit, then discard. Let cool fully, then use a paper towel to coat the entire wok with a thin layer of oil (and to remove excess oil). Don't let the oil pool at all in the bottom of the wok. Then heat the wok on the gas burner until it smokes and the oil on the bottom is carbonized. This is the first stage of seasoning. You can now cook, and the seasoning will get better over time.

Review: The Wok is what was as expected... Very good and functional. What would make it fantastic is to incorporate an electronic spark igniter to the burner.I use it to stirfry and deep fry egg rolls outside on th balcony to avoid water proofing the kitchen with oil vapours inside the kitchen/house. ð
