Enjoy one of the best-selling, primal/paleo cookbooks of all-time, with everything you need to transition to a primal eating style, or get more creative with your primal eating options. These recipes are free from refined sugars, grains, and vegetable oils, and emphasize the ancestral foods of meat, fish, fowl, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, and healthy modern foods such as high fat dairy and dark chocolate. Inside, you’ll learn about the basics of primal cooking and living, and how to source the best ingredients and kitchen items. Then, you’ll be off and running with creative recipes in the following categories: Meat, Offal, Fowl, Seafood, Vegetables, Eggs, Primal Substitutes, Marinades, Sauces and Dressings, Desserts, and Beverages.

Even if you’re an enthusiastic meat eater, you’ll break through to the next level by integrating creative preparations of Offal—nutrient-dense animal organ meats. If you think dessert is only about sugar, you’ll be amazed at the array of primal-approved savory treats you can prepare. With the Primal Substitutes section, you’ll realize that you can still enjoy your breads, crackers, muffins, pancakes, and rice, but will soon likely agree that the primal modifications taste even better.

This offering from Mark Sisson, New York Times bestselling author and publisher of the number one primal/paleo blog MarksDailyApple.com, and Jennifer Meier, culinary academy graduate, food writer, and photographer, contains over 100 recipes and 400 photos to help you dial in these fun and easy to understand recipes. Join the wildly popular primal/paleo movement, as millions are transforming their lives by ditching nutrient-deficient processed modern foods and eating the nutrient-dense foods that have nourished humans for 2.5 million years of evolution.

As you ditch refined sugars, grains and vegetable oils and start emphasizing primal foods, you’ll transition away from the disastrous state of carbohydrate dependency and chronically excessive insulin production that is agreed to be the number one public health problem in the developed world. Instead, you’ll become what Sisson calls a “fat burning beast.” This means you are able to burn fat as your primary fuel source instead of relying on regular high carbohydrate snacks and meals for energy. You’ll enjoy stable appetite, mood, energy levels and cognition all day long, and efficiently reduce excess body fat without struggling or suffering in the manner of a typical calorie-restrictive diet. By teaching your body to prefer fat for fuel, you can efficiently reach and maintain your ideal body composition for the rest of your life.

As you build momentum for Primal eating, you'll find that you won't even miss the bland, boring, low-fat foods that previously were the central focus of your diet. How can you argue with a menu that includes Roasted Leg of Lamb with Herbs and Garlic, Salmon Chowder with Coconut Milk, Tomatoes Stuffed with Ground Bison and Eggs, and Baked Chocolate Custard? The Primal Blueprint isn't a crash course diet. These recipes provide the foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating, high energy and protection from common health problems that arise from eating the high carbohydrate Standard American Diet. Browse through the Table of Contents and try these interesting and delicious recipes in the Primal Blueprint Cookbook!

Title: BEST COOKBOOK EVER!
Review: This is the best cookbook ever! There is an introduction paragraph to each receipe, simple list of ingredients, and clear, concise directions on how to mix the ingredients. Even more spectacular are the bright, bold, colorful photographs of each receipe, showing first, the ingredients, then mixing the ingredients, and finally the end product. The added benefit of this cookbook is the healthy receipes that help you lose weight and make eating exciting. Each receipe is full of the foods your body will love. It's like each receipe is a work of art, and you are the artist putting all the yummy ingredients together for a tasty, colorful, finished dish that you just love to eat!I have just lost 22 pounds on the Paleo, or caveman diet, which is not really a diet, but a lifestyle of eating fruits, vegtables, lean meats and fish, and nuts. The life style cuts out the grains, dairy products, beans, gluten, sugar, salt, and in the process helps your body loose the excess weight it does not need. My blood pressure and cholesterol, have all gone down. This cookbook helps me to eat this new lifestyle. I am eating, and loosing my weight at the same time!I have recommended this book to all my friends, and those who have bought it, all have had the same results. We all are eating healthy food, using the wonderful receips in this book, and enjoying every minute.Just a side note, I made the delicious Peach Clafouti on page 250, and used too small a pie dish and spilt some of the liquid on the pages of the book. The pages are covered in something that makes it possible to spill something on the page, and wipe it off, without messing up the pages! How great is that!My wife, Maryellen, is on a mission to cook every receipe in the book, just like the lady in the movie about Julia Child and her cookbook. In fact, my wife has Julia Child's cookbook, and likes this cookbook even better! Julia cooked with lots of butter and heavy calories, and fat in her receipes. There are great cooking tips in Julia Child's cookbook, but this cookbook is filled with healthier, tasty receipes, with photos that make you just want to cook up all the receipes!I am going to buy a copy of this cookbook for all my family and friends for Christmas gifts it is so fantastic. I also appreciate the quickness that Amazon mailed me my book. Amazon has the best prices, and best customer service of all. That just wants me to keep coming back, and especially with cookbooks that are as great as this one. Thanks Amazon! Maryellen and Larry Lehigh

Title: Best cookbook,paleo/primal or not, that I've ever bought!
Review: Every recipe I've tried has been simple and delicious!!! This is the best cookbook I've ever bought. The photos are nice, and the directions are very simple to follow. You'll enjoy this if you like ethnic foods, it has a few fun recipes and the coconut curry and Moroccan chicken are great! Good pot roasts too. The pancakes were not so great, but that's just the sacrifice you make for trying to make SAD foods into healthy ones. : )My husband has lost 25 lbs since we've been eating this diet, and I've lost 10 in the past two months since beginning it. The biggest difference I've noticed is how much better I feel. No more chronic stomach aches, or feeling bloated and sleepy after meals, and now I've got tons of energy throughout the day! Get the The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy to go with this. It has a fitness element that really makes a difference. The standard Paleo approach is more specifically diet oriented.I like this book better than the new The Paleo Diet Cookbook: More than 150 recipes for Paleo Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, Snacks, and Beveragesbecause it is hardback, and has great photos. The Paleo one has more, but I'd get this first.

Title: A new view on dinner
Review: Easy to follow recipes and great tasting! The pictures are a huge help. One picture shows all of the ingredients, another the cooking and the final product. I really love the salad recipes. Have yet to try the DIY dressings and marinades, they seem to be easy to make. The poultry recipes are what you'd expect. Chicken, pepper, salt and garlic is the main theme... I'll look into the 30 min meals sequel after I make more recipes of this book. I would recommend it.

Title: Good recipes, but too many pictures
Review: I've been following a Primal Diet since 2/2010 and was very excited to get this cookbook. For once, here's a cookbook that fulfills all of my diet choices without me having to adjust the recipes to fit what I eat. What I've tried from this book has been good-I'm a huge fan of the pumpkin nut muffins and LOVE the Enchiladas recipe (FYI-steep learning curve to making the egg-white tortillas, but great once you do!)Here are my issues:1. Mark Sisson has been working on this cookbook for a long time and asked people on his blog to contribute recipes. A lot of those recipes that ended up on the blog (and are AMAZING) didn't make it into the cookbook. While this means that there are different recipes in the book, I really wanted to have some of those other recipes more easily on hand.2. There are a TON of color pictures in this cookbook. While I find pictures of how something should look helpful, giving me a picture of all the ingredients grouped together on a plate is just a waste of space! I didn't pay for pictures, I paid to get great recipes.3. They need a better editor! The Enchilada recipe that I love so much doesn't give a temp for the oven--they only tell you to cover the dish with foil and bake it for 20 min. I've had to play around to figure out what works to get the dish done in 20min (it isn't 350). You might think I'm being nit-picky, but this isn't the only recipe that's missing information. The gist of this is, the recipes that I've made are good, I just wish there were more of them and that they had complete cooking information. It's a great place to start if you're new to this diet. Also go to Mark's website: [...] for recipes as well.

Review: This is a great cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow, and they're pretty simple. I "stole" my first recipe from a website, and I lost 2 pounds the day I ate the resulting "soup". I bought this book, and the Quick and Easy Cookbook, too. I don't follow the Primal Blueprint diet strictly, but in the 2 months since I started eating mostly this way, I've lost 16 pounds. I've tried to lose weight for years, with no good results until I found this cookbook. I don't snack anymore, and I don't get cravings. This is a great book to get you started on a life changing journey.

Review: I attend a gym in Manchester called 'Primal Fitness' they recommended this book for good meals and snacks to avoid rice, pasta, potatoes, flour, wheat, gluten, bread etc. I was not sure how much use the book would be...so bought it. I am really pleased I did the photos are great with easy to follow and measure recipies (a cup of this...a teaspoon of that). The best are the pumpkin muffins, crackers and butter nut bars (healthy protein bars). It is a America based book so you have to hunt around a bit or some of the bits (Coconut flour, Almond meal etc.) but its all well worth it. It has opened a new world of healthy but nice foods I do not crave the usually 'rubbish' I used to crave for. By the way the diet works take it from me...hard exercise and this diet is the business

Review: Vu les photos, c'est à dévorer.Après, il n'y a pas grand chose à dire, beaucoup de recettes, même pour les végétariens. Les mesures sont évidemment en anglais, mais facilement compréhensible.

Review: This is one incredible discovery! I enjoy the illustrations, the whole visual concept being wonderful. The recipes are simple to follow; It's by far my reference book for low carbing, eventhough the primal blue-print approach allows some maple syrup or honey (strict low-carbers beware of these desserts!) I've rarely come across a recipe book that gets me salivating as I open it (I have an entire bookshelf of others!); I was surprised that the recipe book following the original diet plan could be of such quality in all aspects.
