Deep in the woods lies a box, buried where no one would find it. But someone has…

FBI Special Agent Emily Slate is no stranger to tragedy. After losing her husband three months ago, then botching the biggest case of her career, she’s barely escaped a full suspension. Determined to get her life back on track or die trying, she takes a seemingly impossible case in hopes she can turn her fortunes around.

But as Emily arrives in the small Virginia mountain town and dives into the mystery, she discovers the remains of a woman, buried, with her eyes sewn shut. As she peels away the layers of the complex case, Emily realizes that a disturbing mind lurks in the shadows, and it’s only a matter of time before they strike again.

While Emily puts all of her skills to the test in solving the case, she doesn’t realize that the evil forces she hopes to stop now have her in their sights. She’s stumbled on something far larger and more treacherous than she could have ever realized, and if she’s not careful, she’ll be the next body to end up in a box.

Eye See You, Agent Slate.

Secrets are meant to stay buried.

Better turn back before you find yourself among them.

Title: Perfect crime
Review: Awesome.....This is a great book and a great series starter.Very entertaining but better than this is the depth of characterization from each main character which I wasn't expecting from a 1st time author. No cheese or fake Ness in this book.Very well balanced and honestly quite realistic. His writing is excellent. I have nothing negative to say at all. Editing was well done with Word choices too. I'm an avid daily reader. I've read some really awesome books in my years & I must say I am now a sigmore fan and cannot wait to find out if the next books in the series are as great as this 1.I have a feeling they will be. I won't give away any spoilers as the focus of a review should never spoil the rich plot. There are many plots resurfacing and surfacing throughout the 1st book and I loved the ending. It's a rare but believable ending with much more action to come. He sets this up brilliantly for the next books .Its a plus we also get a bonus at the end into a pre sequel..U will see. Read it. Well worth the time! Thank u Alex sigmore for the great read! It's been a long time since a book really made me think and kept me focused ( outside of my own reality) into the lives of these fictional characters. To me they were real. I think a good story line should do this. Make the reader feel something for these characters and their successes and failures as ppl. I'm sure u will have many more fans in future. 🙀 keep writing.

Title: She will not be intimidated!
Review: In this book the FBI is in charge of the investigation. Emily finds herself in a town with secrets. Her character is hard to get to know and seems a bit boring. The interactions with her assigned partners are wishy washy somewhat. The reader is wondering what she is thinking. The characters may need a little time to figure out. The plot is truly the interesting aspect of the book. The twist got me! I didn’t figure it out until the last clues. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

Title: Good Read!
Review: A well written mystery with multiple subplots . A gripping, action packed read with well developed characters especially the killer! I had a difficult time trying to understand Emily. She references a traumatic incident involving her last assignment and is concerned that this assignment is her last chance to prove herself. She is smart, perceptive and an advocate for the victims but she doesn't seem to communicate with her supervisor or follow protocols. The end was fantastic!!

Title: Wonderful start..
Review: This book was a mixed bag. While being great, it left me with so many questions. I actually loved this story it was great, but it needed a little more of something extra. I would definitely recommend this story and will read the next story in this series. Very nice start.

Title: Good book
Review: This is a good "who done it". An FBI agent, with issues, is trying to find a murderer. Well written so that it keeps you interested throughout. Here's hoping the next in the series is as good as the first. And it's clean, for that I would give it an extra star if I could.

Title: Mediocre
Review: Good enough to keep reading but not enough to read the next book in the series. I found the main character much the same ad others in this genre. A female FBI agent with a tragic past with an attitude. Of course included, just to continue with the overused formula, is a mystery from her past that I'm sure will take several books to solve. I also found the storyline less compelling than others I've read and less believable.

Title: Excellent beginning to a new series
Review: I really enjoyed the story and if I had any complaints, it would be that there are hints of a larger conspiracy at work. I prefer to have novels that are stand-alone so that you can enjoy the story without worrying about clues that may or may not exist. But that didn’t detract from the book’s experience. Otherwise the plot was interesting and I liked the characters involved. Overall the writing felt tight and the editing was very good (which can be somewhat unusual in this day and age). I recommend reading this book.

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed "The Perfect Crime", from Alex Sigmore. The first book in the series of Emily Slate FBI.The storyline was great, having twists and turns, not seen coming, well paced and believable. All characters stood out well, good and bad, with an ending so good, it had me thinking well after it finished. It does have...to be continued..I liked that..Highly recommended.. Frances.
