HOW TO COOK BACON YOUR WAY WITH A GLASS FOOD PRESS 1. Pull bacon it out from the fridge 15 to 20 minutes before cooking. 2. Don't preheat the 12" skillet. Lay out the bacon strips without overlapping in a 12" cold pan and cover with the round bacon press. 3. Cook over medium heat — Look through the tempered glass and when ready turn the strips as needed until they reach the desired crispness, 8 to 12 minutes. 4. Drain well on a paper-towel.

Title: It works well
Review: I've been looking for a bacon press that could work in non-stick fry pans without scratching. You could probably make a scratch is you misused it but it works fine for me. You have to put it on the bacon when the pan is cold. The transparent glass lets you monitor the bacon as it cooks. The pan you use it with has to be large enough for it to lay flat but that is not hard to find. I like it and use it for all bacon now.

Title: Keeps your bacon flat and lets you see when it is done.
Review: I bought this to get better visibility than the cast iron bacon press that I have been using and it does provide a much better view to know when to turn or remove the bacon. I was skeptical of the claim that the lifting handle stays cool but it really does heat up much less than I was expecting.The glass is about 3/16" thick and that is OK and does the job but I would prefer it to be a little thicker.My only real dislike is the way the screw that attaches the handle to the glass is not countersunk into the glass. The screw head and washer stand proud of the glass surface. I usually use thick sliced bacon so this has not been an issue for me yet but if I were buying again I would make sure that screw head is flush with the glass.

Review: The bacon grease makes its way into the top of the handle therefore having to take the handle off to clean it. Seems like a simple silicone washer should stop that. Otherwise it works well.

Title: Just what he wanted!
Review: Bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves his breakfast and always complained about the bacon. He said to say it is rated a 10 because it works! It’s heavy enough and he can see thru the lid. Plus it is easy to clean with out having to season it like the heavy cast iron types.
