Title: Complete Slow Cooker Cookbook and Guide
Review: This slow cooker cookbook serves as a guide as well as a recipe book. The introduction gives a lot of good tips about using a slow cooker to help prepare you for the upcoming recipes. Rather than giving one straight recipe for “oatmeal” it gives you tons of variations so that you always have different options available without having to experiment yourself. This book basically does all the legwork for you when it comes to adding variety to your favorite basic recipes. What I love most about the recipes (and what I look for first before buying any cookbook) is that the ingredients are simple and basic. Most people have the ingredients in their kitchen already, or can easily attain them at the store without having to go to specialty shops for that one “special ingredient.” The spices and herbs are probably already in your cabinet, just the basic items; the foods are simply meats, fruits and vegetables, everything your local grocer carries. So with the basic ingredients paired with the variety of recipes based on favorite dishes, this is really one of the best slow cooker cookbooks you can get. It’s both time and cost efficient for the modern day cook.

Title: Love this slow cooker recipe book!
Review: I have been purchasing author Emma Katie's recipe books for over a year and have always found them to be well-written, organized, and filled with some pretty awesome recipes. This one is no different. When the weather cools down, we pull out our slow cooker and I was thrilled to get my hands on this massive collection of slow cooker recipes. There are recipes for breakfast, drinks, main dishes, and desserts. We've made the pepper steak and several of the drink recipes. Excellent book!

Title: This cook book has some good recipes but you will find that the same recipes ...
Review: This cook book has some good recipes but you will find that the same recipes are duplicate many times with a simple variation of one ingredient. I didnt need 15 of the same recipes. So it's more like maybe 500 slow cooker recipes. Little disappointing.

Title: About two dozen recipes you will settle on.
Review: No doubt that you will find several recipes to your liking. But the drawback is the duplication with 50 different oatmeal recipes and 10- 20 each of roast beef, lamb, pork, ham and meatball and a whopping 92 meatloaf recipes. And that's all before you get to the poultry, soup, vegetable, and sauce sections. Not to mention snacks, cakes and drinks, you will find many simple, slow cooker recipes to suit your tastes.

Title: Very helpful cookbook!
Review: I love love love my crockpot. As a mom with 3 kids this is a serious life saver. Yet I am always running out of new fun recipes or ideas. This book starts with the benefits of using a slow cooker. The recipes are broken up into meal type categories and are very easy to read. I love making the recipes my own and am having a blast with this book.

Title: LOVE LOVE LOVE
Review: I have a slow cooker and barely use it because I don't know any recipes...along comes this little gem and I LOVE IT! So many different recipes and so many that are similar with different ingredients. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have anything for breakfast aside from oatmeal. Otherwise its great and I will be trying the mac and cheese recipe.

Title: Directions Confusing and Information Missing
Review: There is something very wrong with this cookbook. First, I wanted to make some Blueberry oatmeal. The amount of ingredients is what one might use for one serving. At one place it states: Cook time 15-20 minutes. Surely you aren't to cook this before you put it in the slow cooker, or, if this is the fact and it then says, "Cook on low for 8 hours". It is a confusing recipe and I decided not to try it.The next thing that bothered me, when I thought I'd make some cocktail meatballs for a pot luck and wished to double the recipe, I wanted to read one of the sections listed under Introduction. They were: Benefits of Using a Slow Cooker, It's Easy to Create Your Own Slow Cooker Recipes, and Slow Cooker Tips. These were all to follow the Introduction, which also doesn't exist.I am really disappointed in this book. It is not easy to use and I wish I'd chosen a different one.Bonnie

Title: Don't waste your money
Review: I wish I had read the reviews of this cookbook before buying it rather than just looking at the star distribution. I am terribly disappointed in it. 50 recipes for oatmeal, 30 pages of recipes for meatloaf?????? Come on, that's beyond crazy. It also contains recipes that make no sense for a slow cooker. If I have a chunk of filet mignon or porterhouse or ribeye steak, I am NOT going to cook them for hours in a slow cooker. What a waste of really good meat. Also, why would you do a stir fry in a slow cooker. The whole idea there is to cook the ingredients quickly, not over the course of 4 hours. There are others that don't make sense like cake, snack mixes, candy (3 hours to just melt chocolate?), etc. There are a few recipes that I'll try -- stocks, spaghetti sauce, and stew. All in all, fewer than 12 recipes that interest me. Also, the author needs to do a much better job of quality control. The back leaf of the book is extolling the virtues of a pressure cooker and saying that it is much better than a slow cooker. It sounds like she uses the same recipes and changes the cook time. Don't waste your money.
