Title: Great little tool
Review: Received this the very next day, after ordering it. After reading the reviews, from the numbers 1 to 5, I felt this was exactly what I needed. I was not disappointed. I don't know how anyone could be getting their fingers in the blade. The blade is very sharp (just what is needed). With care in handling such a sharp bladed instrument, this Mandoline will get a lot of use at my house. I primarily wanted something that would slice tomatoes smoothly and evenly, and also be strong enough to slice potatoes for homefries.Just be sure to read the directions, although the directions and photos are extremely small (I had to use a magnilying glass). The manufacturer could very easily enlarge that small six page foldout, and it would still fit into the box.All-in-all this was a very good purchase. It should last a long time.

Title: Only Cut Myself Once (Yay)...Seriously, this thing is sharp
Review: Wear the gloves that are included. Heed my advice, please!Luckily I only got a tiny chunk out of my finger but it could have been MUCH worse. I was way too complacement. Doesn't matter what you are doing, just put them on or use the holder which is also very effective.The slicer is very versatile and has a minor learning curve.It helps to do a test of the slices (mm thickness setting).I used a potato to test out slicing, making homemade chips. (as in traditional American "Lay's" style potato chips). The 3mm-6mm setting worked pretty well for that.I haven't been able to get the hang of waffle fries, without doing them very thick.Works great for vegtables, like carrrots, cucumber. There's no limit to what it can slice, just need to test out your medium and be willing to learn.

Review: The blade is damaged on the edge. Tried to slice an apple with it but it was difficult to push the apple across the blade. Will be sending it back.

Title: Blade is dull and usless
Review: Have no idea why this comes with cut resistant gloves when you can run your fingers across the blade and not even get a scratch. The blade is extremely dull and will only cut things if you use a lot of force to shove it through the blade. It will work for onions and potatoes if you use force to shove the food through the dull blade. Does not cut carrots well because of the amount of force you have to use to get through the blade makes it hard to get a clean cut on a flimsy carrot. Haven't tried tomatoes because of the dull blade, but I'm sure it will just smoosh them and give you tomato soup instead of slices. A mandoline should have a sharp blade where you just glide the food through in order to slice not force the food through.

Review: Sono anni che uso una mandolina che non mi ha mai abbandonato, ma a causa di un trasferimento all'estero ho dovuto comprarne un'altra e ho optato per questa. E' sicuramente più costosa di altre opzioni sul mercato, ma decisamente valida. Il prodotto è solido e pesante, con molte parti mobili (la cui resistenza andrà testata nel lungo periodo) tutte in acciaio, quindi facili da pulire e tendenzialmente indistruttibili. Le lame sono affilatissime e i meccanismi sono precisi.
