Title: Compact but very informative guide.
Review: I just moved to Chicago with my husband and three kids. Because we lived here before for a little while, I was familiar with some "must see" spots, but I wanted more. What comes after the Art Institute, Millenium Park, Lincoln Park Zoo, etc.?Well, this little guide gave me a whole lot more stuff to look forward to seeing and doing. Sure, those main attractions are in here, too, but the guide goes beyond the basics. It lists bike tours, neighborhood bars, theaters, museums, brewery tours, and on and on. Just so many things I hadn't thought of before. And I know the suggestions are good because 1) the things I've done out of this guide have been really fun and/or tasty, and 2) the recommendations from this list actually overlap the recommendations given to me by local friends.Overall, I'm really happy with this guide, and I'd recommend it to people visiting the city for the first time AND to people who've lived here for a year or two but are interested in seeing more of the city. It's been an invaluable resource to me.

Title: Like having a native guide
Review: Great restaurant recommendations. (The Purple Pig is excellent.) Easy to read and navigate. On our first trip to Chicago we felt we had a native making suggestions of how to avoid crowds and what best to see. Witty writing style. A good investment for any traveler to the 2nd City.

Title: Accurate, Entertaining, and Winsome
Review: I've been using Frommer's guides for over 20 years and they never fail to disappoint. The reviews and suggestions are objective and the writing (especially in this guide) is entertaining and winsome. I particularly enjoy the tidbits, trivia and interesting facts that aren't included in other guides of this type. Looking forward to next year's addition!

Review: Good guide to Chicago. I bought this guide book about a month before my week-long trip to Chicago. It covered all of the essentials (neighborhoods, transportation, restaurants, maps and such) quite well. The pages were colorful and easy to read.

Title: Disappointing and not easy to use.
Review: Did not like this guide book. Did not give the kind of info I was looking for. Not easy to use as a quick reference guide for anything: restaurants by neighborhood, attractions, Chicago passes. Instead used my cousins copy of DK Eyewitness guide to Chicago. I will go with that company in the future.

Review: Von Frommer's bin ich noch nie enttäuscht worden, so auch hier. Die Karten sind sehr praktisch, die Angaben sind mehr als ausreichend und die Walking Tours (1+2) haben wir gemacht) empfehlenswert. Die Loop Sculpture Tour (Seite 117) sollte man nicht übersehen. Die beigefügte herausnehmbare Karte genügt ebenfalls für die Innenstadt.
