Title: Excellent. You can't beat it!
Review: Every book that I have by this author is hilarious. These cookbooks you can sit around and read and enjoy. I have laughed out loud at the three cookbooks I have by this author. This cookbook is not full of low fat recipes. It doesn't claim to be the easiest recipes. It has the best of the best recipes. IF they are high in fat or take some time to prepare, this cookbook promises they are worth the effort. So far, I agree. Everything I have made out of these two (Beat This and Beat That) has been great. And I'd say most of the recipes are not time consuming, nor do they require exotic ingredients.Excellent. Enjoy.

Title: funny and yummy
Review: If I were to write a cookbook I would hope the recipes were as good and the text as funny. I read it through right away, reading the funniest bits out loud to my husband. For the past several weeks I have been trying the recipes and have yet to be disappointed. Banana bread even my husband likes, great and easy stew..... I bought a second copy to send to a friend because it is so fun and delicious. Next to try is Beat That, her 2nd book. ND

Title: Beat That! Cookbook
Review: I picked up a copy of this book at a yard sale and started laughing as soon as I read the first page. It was so entertaining and loaded with great ideas, I decided to give my sister and my neices each a copy for Christmas. I went even further and order the first book, Cook This! All shipments were timely and in good condition. Good cookbook for those that are new to cooking, makes it a less daunting hurdle when trying to learn. Highly recommend them both.

Title: Now I know why it sold for a penny!
Review: I was very disappointed with this cookbook, yes the author is humorous at times but the recipes call for so many ingredients that one recipe would fill up a shopping cart and most of the recipes require that you start 2-3 days ahead. People that work for a living do not have the time to make this very lengthy recipes.

Title: Nothing Short of Fabulous
Review: This is a must have cookbook! I also have Beat This! and they both are wonderful.....so funny, and the recipes really work and taste fantastic! Not that lowfat, but you won't be cooking out of this EVERY day. I highly recommend this book. You'll laugh and also eat well, too. Worth every penny.

Title: A few interesting recipes
Review: I purchased Beat This! by the same author years ago and really liked that cookbook, so I expected to like this one. Unfortunately, I didn't like this one at all. I guess I just wasn't looking for the best recipe for "Tomato Soup with Millet" or "Watercress Slaw" or "Tortellini with Pistachio Sauce". In addition, many recipes have long lists of ingredients. I realize that multiple ingredients may be needed for something to be "the best," but 21 ingredients for guacamole is just more that I'm usually willing to do. However, there are a few interesting recipes I'll probably try, such as the Orange Buttermilk Sherbet and Hot Polish Slaw (didn't even know I needed the best recipe for Hot Polish Slaw, but it sounds good).

Title: LOVE this cookbook!
Review: I lost my copy somewhere in the abyss of my home, so I had to order another! Why, because I can't live without any of Ann Hodgman's cookbooks! They are all winners!
