Title: This collar is a great tool and communication device - blown away! ..AND great customer service!
Review: UPDATE May 26, 2016. After having this collar for a year now we still love it. We use it every day, and it has been a real champ. We had our first issue this week; the collar was responding to the controller intermittently. We thought it was a battery the first couple times we noticed it, but the battery was charged, and the LEDs were lighting up as expected when the buttons were pressed. After fooling around with it, I realized it would work sometimes and not others, depending on the orientation of the collar. It seems there is a loose wire in it somewhere. I called E-Collar Technologies - their phone number is on the back of the handset, and told them what was up. They offered to replace it - I have to send back the original so they can inspect it and see what happened. What great customer service! I was prepared to pay to have it repaired, and was blown away by how nice the person on the phone was. That makes me even more happy about using these training collars, knowing the manufacturer stands behind them! (Our other collar, purchased from a professional dog trainer is still going strong!) Thank you, E-Collar Technologies!I have been using the Educator collar for a couple of weeks now. We have two of them for our two dogs. I have tried another brand of training collar - a more basic, bargain priced unit, and this Educator blows that one away. It has been wonderful to work with my dogs using this collar. Our first Educator came as a part of some professional dog training we are doing for our GSD in Savannah, GA. They use these collars and taught us how to use them effectively. Things went so well with this collar that we bought another one from Amazon for our other dog, a lab mix. What I really like about these collars is the adjustable levels. The stimulus ranges from 0-100, plus it has a "tap" button that is just a small vibrate function. The other collar we had only had three levels on the remote - vibrate, low, and high. Low was too much and it really bothered our dog. With this system, you only use as much stimulus as is required to communicate with your dog. It doesn't hurt - I have zapped myself with it in my hand at around level 15. It's a tingling sensation that absolutely gets my attention, but it doesn't hurt, per se.We live at the beach and like to take our dogs on the beach. Being able to recall them over long distances is a great bonus for these collars. We just like to have our dogs off the leash whenever we can - they much prefer that to being on the end of a leash. To do that, they have to be well trained in order to keep them safe. The red emergency button is nice too, because if the dog really does something that might endanger it, you can get its attention and get it back to you safely. Our trainer and the folks that recommended him to us told us that the training process would really increase the bond with our dog, and they were right. It has been great. In just a couple of weeks, there is an amazing increase in the dog's attentiveness, tail wagging, and affection. It has NOT scared our dog or made the dog afraid of us at all. Both our dogs love to go out and practice their training, especially the GSD.The collar that comes with this is nice and shouldn't get really stinky like some other kinds of leashes. The collar must be tight on the neck to work properly, although we take it off every night and when we're away from the house for any period of time. We also switch sides of the neck to keep from creating skin irritation. The collar is very well made, and we're told it's water-proof. We haven't had either one submerged in a pool or the ocean yet, but they are warrantied if something goes wrong. The collar is VERY long, so once you fit it to your dog you have to trim it shorter with a pair of scissors. The handset is very comfortable for me and my wife although I have an easier time with it than she does because I have bigger hands. If you don't need the distance, the 1/2 mile version has a smaller handset. It is comfortable feel and easy to hold on to. We have practiced using it one-handed, and within a few days it is easy to dial up and down as needed and reach the buttons. The collar and the hand set get charged every night, and it comes with an A/C wall adapter. Both units have receptacle covers when not being charged. The magnetic on and off switch for the collar is nice - when you put the collar on in the morning you have to match up the dot on the hand set with the dot on the collar. It prevents the dog from accidentally turning it off. (Incidentally, the other brand we used had a push power button on the collar, and a couple of times the dog somehow turned it off!)One feature I thought was a little silly at first is that the collar has white LED's on it which can be set to blink or stay on solid - controlled by the hand set. As it turns out, however, with the darkness and long shadows in our back yard, it is nice to turn on the lights on the collars at night and generally see where the dogs are. Depending on what they are doing with their heads, particularly the GSD with her long hair, you can't always see it, but when they are walking around you can generally see it. Now I like that feature and use it every night. My wife likes the lanyard these come with, although I don't care to wear these things around my neck. I just put it in my pocket or keep it nearby. When I'm training I think the lanyard gets in the way.All in all, we love these collars and the freedom they are giving us to keep our dogs safe and well behaved, especially when off the leash. I was worried that this would feel like hurting the dog, but that hasn't been our experience. Our dogs seem eager to get their collars on in the morning and love to work with them. With proper training (which is why we're using a professional trainer) we really aren't using high level stimulus much at all (except when a dog tries to dart away or something). I highly recommend this collar. If you want great training, look for Off-Leash K-9 training in your area. The GSD rescue we used to adopt our dog recommended them for GSDs because they love to "work". We are very pleased with the whole experience.

Title: Absolutely Awesome for training a rescue puppy. 👍
Review: I rescued a 6-month-old Shepherd husky mix on October 5th of 2023 that is too smart for his own good. I have p5 acres fenced in and he would climb the fence not jump it, climb like a monkey. He's well-trained in the home but when he gets outside there were too many squirrels. When he would get out he would run to neighbor's properties and harass their chickens. He had been shot at once that I know of by one of the unsavory neighbors in the area. He was not hit but he did come running back. He had gotten out a total of five times in 6 months that I know of. But since I received the mini educator my problems have dissolved. I've been training him as he gets near the fence I tap him and he runs away from the fence. I've had to use the minimum shock four or five times when I first received it as he would go near the fence to try to climb it. That was the first weekend. I have had it now for a week and for the last 6 days he does not even want to go near the fence. I would hate to have to use the boost shock on him because I tried it on myself and that is rough but if he does get over the fence again I will use it. He is also a very smart dog you can call him and you can see him thinking about it but this only happens when he's off leash and outside. Now when I call him and he looks at me and I see he's starting to think I tap him he comes right over and sits right next to me. One other thing is that he will get a blinding zoomy meaning he will start running and he's not focused on anything but just the running and with other dogs you can call them and they would stop. with my guy if you could grab him you could just see his head moving in his eyes would be just wanting to roam everywhere and it would take 5 seconds for him to actually focus and come back to who he is. When he got the zoomies the last time I tapped him and he came right over and sat next to me. I hope this helps some of you with a semi problem dog but this product works. He weighs about 80 lb and now he's about 1 year and 2 months old. I had almost thought about taking him to a rescue shelter after he climbed the fence the last time. This product was his last chance to stay with me because I just can't handle a dog that will climb fences and want to get out especially when they have five acres wooded and grass to live in. So far this product has worked miracles for him and me. As far as the settings go I set the regular shock at 36 which then would be the boost to 96. I tested it on myself first the 36 is a good boost and it brings him back immediately. The tap I do believe is a general sensation and that is maybe 1/5 the sensation of the regular shock. I also tested that out on myself first. When I first received it I had to call the company to help with 3 questions .it is an American company I talked to a representative who said she lived in Indiana within 2 minutes I had the collar and the remote setup no problems. I only had a few questions because the directions are a little confusing and she even said there are some things that are vague. one of the things that are vague or how to turn it on. there is a red dot on the side of the remote controller and a red dot on top of the collar sensor you touch them together and it turns on. It works like a charm. Then the charging; he wears a collar between 6 to 8 hours a day and I charge it every other day depending on how many times I have to tap him. The instructions say do not let the batteries get below 50% and to charge it up so the batteries will last a very long time if you do that. That is what the instructions in the manual say to do. Sometimes I charge it up at the end of the day if I tap him a couple of times it takes 15 to 20 minutes to charge it up and I'm good to go. I am very happy with this product. There is also an LED light on the collar so when he's in the woods I hit the light sensor button on the back of the remote and it comes on it's like a headlight but it's on his neck. It can go from a blinking LED every two to three seconds to a solid LED light I've used that a couple of times just to see if it worked he was about 500 ft from me came on immediately. I hope I never have to test the half mile range of this but so far the longest distance I've had to tap, shock or turn the light on is about 800 ft and it is instantaneous.I watched multiple videos on 10 different e-collars then research them and I settled on the mini educator it seemed to be more durable, used by more trainers and the most important part made in the USA with customer service based in the United States. From what I saw from the other e-collars they were not.AS an ending note now my rescue puppy repeatedly comes back and looks for me at least every 10 minutes and it is only been one week. I have had dogs before but I always got them between 12 and 8 weeks old they were easily trained and they were all trained up by me by the time they were 3- 4 months old. This is my first rescue puppy which I rescued him from a truck stop in Amarillo Texas he was emaciated, his pads on his paws were torn up and he had a bad case of diarrhea. At the time I rescued him he was approximately 5 to 6 months old per the vet. He had no collar no tags and no chip. I called the rescues in the area and the shelter no one had claimed him as missing and they told me when I asked them if it was okay if I could keep him. they said please do we are being overrun with dogs being turned in or loose dogs roaming around.. He is an extremely happy, smart and now thanks to the mini educator well-trained off leash and like I said it has only been one week 👍😁

Title: This is a game changer
Review: I didn’t want to resort to e collar. I did lots of research and found This to be the best for what I needed for my minpin. I’ve been using it for high distraction areas, leave it, greeting people, recall, and heal. She is very excitable when seeing peoole and dogs This is helping her. Her heal is amazing on walks now loose leash walking without this collar with her harness.I want a well mannered pup as well as allowed to be a dog and run free. I would not recommend buying this without learning how to use properly. Hire a trainer or watch the training videos so you do not harm your pup. It’s a great tool as well as many rewards, positive reinforcement and only use when general commands are mastered. It’s not to just shock your pup because it isn’t behaving. It’s for training purposes. It works great easy to use, stays charged for a long time. I like the option of vibrate or beep and the Boost. I need the boost when she is in high distraction areas with lots of people and dogsBut we did six months of training before I used this.I was encouraged to use a prong collar but that wasn’t a good option for me because her neck is so tiny this was much better. Has a light as well and flashing Light for night time.

Review: This is so well worth the money. It works fantastically!! Battery life is good and is quick and easy set up. Is user friendly aswell. A bit expensive but worth it rather than buying several cheap ones. Me, mother in law and sister in law all have these for our dogs. Dogs weight range is 70-120 lbs. Would recommend!

Review: We have tried another reputable brand before but this one is way better! Great quality. Nice collars. Once you get the hang of it's use, it's flawless! We corrected my puppies' bad habits in less than 3 days (habits like humping and approaching other dogs without approval). Great system!

Review: E-collar technology inc has created an E-collar that uses blunt stimulation, similar to that of a TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) unit that physio therapists use to rebuild muscle after a surgery for example. Used correctly it is a communication tool that allows you to, if used and taught correctly, give your dog controlled freedom, even over long distances. (This model allows for up to 1/2 mile) The quality of this E-collar and their customer service, is absolutely excellent. IF you are to use a remote training collar, use this one and not a cheap £40 knock off, as they are not as subtle in their deliverance nor as reliable.
