Title: Needs more power
Review: Edger works great but be aware that the stock battery is junk and will not run the edger very long, you WILL need to buy a stronger battery for the tool to be useful, once I upgraded that (Affordable aftermarket batteries are all over Amazon) everything was great!

Title: A very acceptable edger for home use
Review: I have most of the Black and Decker 20v line, and while I really wanted a 40v edger, the cost of most of those was ridiculous, plus almost every other lithium edger out there sells the battery and charger separate, so it was great B&D included them -- plus I just added the new battery to the several I already have. As far as assembly goes -- be ready to pull your hair out. It would be simple but for the long electric line you somehow have to stuff into the tubing while doing the rather simple assembly. No tools required -- just incredible patience. Instructions are fairly useless. But, you have to shove the line both above and below, and you'll know what I'm talking about once you try. It took me almost an hour just to get the electric line in -- other than that, assembly would have been less than five minutes. The complaints about the battery life are semi-true. The machine draws a lot of power, and discharges the battery quicker than any other B&D tool. You will need two batteries to do a full edge -- and the 3.0ah or higher spares that can be purchased online would likely be a much better match. But -- if you already have a spare 20v -- the machine does a great job of edging very easily. The three wheels make it easy to use, line up, and keep on track. Adjustments are also simple. Since the manual is really trash, anyway, it's great that everything is intuitive and beyond easy to figure out. However, always wear safety glasses when using this -- or any edger. Very important!!!! In essence -- I really like the machine for the cost and ease of use. Battery is only fair -- but with two -- no problem.

Title: Don’t waste your time
Review: I normally don’t write reviews but this product was extremely disappointing! Ordered because I have other products from their cordless line such as the weed eater and leaf blower. Battery overheats after 10 minutes of use, then you have to wait for it to cool down and recharge it or use another battery (which I had but others may not) it doesn’t cut through thick grass no matter what depth setting it’s on. It powers off immediately if you slightly bump the sidewalk, and when the grass is too thick or dirt is too hard (so about every 30 seconds or less). You also can’t start the product with it already touching the ground it’s not powerful enough and just won’t start. You have to hold it above ground and then hope your aim is good enough to place it where you want it. Other similar black and decker products have worked great, but they certainly missed the mark on this one! Assembly wasn’t super difficult but the cord is inside the stick and it is longer than then stick so trying to shove the cord in to assemble the stick and then get the screws around the cord was challenging. Will be returning this proctor hopefully find something that works better!

Title: Finally! No more replacing line!
Review: Out of the box, this entire thing is assembled in under five minutes. Set the battery on the charger and give it a few hours and you’re in business. I can say the first time you’re going to cut. You might want to adjust to not cut very deep because the battery won’t last as long. This thing can cut trenches, but the deeper you go the more battery life you will burn through. Once I got the adjustment right I was able to do my entire yard on one charge. Previously, I was using my trimmer to do edging, and I burned through line like nobody’s business. Having a metal blade makes all the difference. For the price, the value is exceptional, I am able to edge in a fraction of the time it took with a trimmer. And the fact it is wireless and electric is very convenient. No fuel to mix, no extension cord to manage, pop in the battery and go.Out of the box it was set for the deepest cut, I recommend adjusting before you get going on your first run, to the highest setting possible and then ease into it.I’m very pleased with the purchase.

Title: Does a superb job of edging, Just a few cons.
Review: The unit itself is superb, does better and easier than my big gas motorized edger. There are just a few cons here. And before I state them. I would purchase this edging unit again. 1 Get rid of the 20v it comes with and purchase a 3.5 Ah 20v made for B&D. Reason. I have 5 of the lighter bats that work fine on weed trimmers and the such. But not on this hog. Get a tough spot edging and they will get hot. Took 4 of those to get done with my edging. I purchased 2 two 3.5 Ah and one will get the entire lawn needing edged. 2. They should make the handle more adjustable. More ergonomically stance and hand level for ease of use. All in all (superb) make the purchase, get new battery. Doc Out

Review: The charger takes forever to charge and it takes a fair bit of battery power to run so a second battery is necessary. I got the 2 amp and like it.Otherwise, the tool does a good job and is well made.

Customers say

Customers like the lightweight and value of the string trimmer. They mention it's excellent for light homeowner duty and a great buy. However, some customers have reported that the product is not really heavy-duty and has issues with the blade thickness. Opinions are mixed on the ease of use and quality.
