Title: It is so worth the price.
Review: We live in an apartment with a covered balcony, so propane grills are a no-go. We tried a cheaper George Foreman electric grill, but hated the amount of grease that was pooled behind on the cast iron surface, and that we couldn't get good flavor or seal.We purchased the standard sized grill with the stand. Setup was relatively easy, although we did have a lot of issues getting the stand secured. The price of the stand seemed excessive compared to what you get. It is a standard plastic stand, and the side table that snaps on easily snaps off and falls down. For $100+, I would've expected something more secure and made of better material. The grill itself is amazing. The amount of cooking space and power is comparable to a tabletop propane grill. Preheating takes about 15 minutes, and it maintains its temperature throughout the cooking process. We get a beautiful sear on steaks and chicken. We're really looking forward to trying out the steamer tray that came with the grill.Cleanup has also been very easy. You preheat the grill, and then use a grill brush (not included) to scrape any residue off the cast iron grate. Cleanup of the grease chute at the bottom of the grill is a breeze as well. I also like that the grease can be caught in a disposable aluminum tray, although I'd love to see if there are reusable options out there to be less wasteful. All and all, we are so happy with this purchase. All in, we spent over $600 for the grill and the stand. But it was well worth the price! We are getting so much use out of this grill, and we've so excited for summer now!

Title: Highly recommend! Order the griddle that comes separate
Review: I love this outdoor electric grill, highly recommend purchasing. It's perfect for small apartment balconies that don't allow propane grills. Prior to this purchase I brought a different brand cheaper grill that couldn't maintain temperature, so I wound up returning. This grill heats up very quickly (approx 15 mins) and provides even heating with multiple settings including a setting for smoking and steaming and high heat searing. I purchased the additional griddle option and have half the grill with the grate and the other half as a griddle. This is great for toasting buns or sauteeing veggies. I'm pretty impressed with the sear it's able to get on the meat given that it's electric. In hindsight my only regret is not purchasing the slightly larger one to have a little more grilling surface area, but the price was significantly more expensive and this is perfectly adequate for serving 2-4 people.

Title: Plenty of heat, temperature control could be better
Review: Generally, well made with nice grills. It is solid and heavy, and not easy to move from place to place. Heats to a high temperature but takes a while to get really hot. The temperature regulation is on/off. The thermometer doesn't seem to respond very quickly to temperature changes. The biggest disappointment is that there is no indicator light when the grill is actually heating. There is only a constant power light that shows when it is turned on. This promotes "peeking" to see how things are going, and "when you're lookin', you're not cookin'. " Cleanup is always going to be a pain with an electric grill, but the disposable grease tray helps. Why they used screws to hold the element in place is a puzzle, because it makes it hard to remove the element to get at the catch pan underneath. I'm not sure the screws are even needed. (I have a Farberware electric rotisserie with a simple plug-in element that I have been using for 10+ years without a problem.) The catch pan can be removed for cleaning, but it is thin and easy to bend so if not treated gently.

Title: Works great!
Review: I have used it for steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs and fish. It works great. It will get extremely hot in about 15 minutes. I usually leave it on and eat dinner and then come back and clean it. Most of the time it's just white ash on the grills. Super easy to clean.

Title: Very disappointing!
Review: I have been a very satisfied Weber customer for more than 4 decades, but my recent experience with the Lumin grill and more significantly Weber's customer service is the reason for the 1-star rating. If possible, I would have given zero stars. On the very rare occasions in the past when I've had to contact Weber's customer service it has been nothing short of fantastic. However, my latest experience with them has been the exact opposite.I have owned the Lumin Electric Grill since October 21, 2023. I purchased it as a replacement for the Q2400 Electric Grill which failed after 4 years of heavy use (no complaints). I purchased the newer Lumin grill because it claimed to pre-heat more quickly and sear better because it reached higher temperatures. These claims were true initially. However, in the past several months I noticed that the grill was taking longer and longer to pre-heat and never reached optimal searing temperatures anymore.I attempted to contact Weber to report the problem and found that they no longer provide a telephone # for support on their website. After a Google search, I found a # and spoke with a customer service representative and detailed my experiences. They informed me that they had created a ticket and that I would receive an email from a support person. The email I received asked me to completely restate my problem including the model and serial # of the grill (already provided to the representative I spoke with on the phone and documented in my product registration) before they could assist me. I provided the requested information and received a request to provide pictures of the heating element. Which I provided despite the fact that it required disassembling the unit. Weber responded with detailed operating instructions and power specs for the entirely wrong model of grill. When I responded that they provided me with incorrect information and corrected them, they placed an order for a replacement controller and provided me with tracking information for the shipment and informed me that I would receive the part in 7-10 days. After waiting approximately 2 weeks I discovered that FedEx had never received the shipment.I once again called customer service and was told that the part was out of stock for 6 more weeks! I explained that this was not acceptable, as without a working controller the $500 grill is useless! The representative stated that there was nothing more that they could do for me. I then requested to speak with a supervisor and was repeatedly placed on hold to wait for the supervisor to become available. Ultimately, I was told that the supervisor would call me back before the end of the day.It is now more than a week later and despite an additional call to customer service I have still not received a call back from anyone and I have a rather expensive paper weight sitting on my deck!I definitely do not recommend this grill or Weber to anyone anymore! It's very sad to see such a formerly great company fail so miserably!

Review: after years of charcoal bbq use, had to move to a condo and electric is the only bbq allowed. I got the compact as with the power 1550 power between compact and standard simple math and physics dictate the power/heat would be better on small. Not many of these electric bbq can claim 600F and if you are into steaks, you need 550F+I Believe it's the only compact bbq that reaches 600. My friend who owns a Ninja woodfire says his can't even reach 500F at 23C and another with the Electric Q2400 says his just goes above 520F on a good day...I use my old 8" $10 smoke tube, fill it with pellets and just put it on the grill grates for smoke. Works better than the tray/tub they give... No need to soak anything as per their instructions as soaking just delays smoke. Basic chemistry again. First wood chips has to dry before they start smoking so only soak if you want to wait extra 30 min...If you are using a pellet tube, you'll have to light those. When I was using wood chips in the tube, temperature of 350F+ will ignite/smoke the chips after less than 10min.Temperature gauge I have( may not be accurate) registered 660F as the highest when Lumin was showing over 600F after 20min. That's at ambient temperature of 12C. Now, here's a thing though, it was after I did the chicken, I decided to try to do the steaks, brought it to 600+. The whole thing just caught fire from the chicken. At that temp, all the oil drippings, including right to the drip tray was on fire( no chips/pellets) it was just preheating). The elements are so close to the bottom and top that it will be happening so if you will be doing a steak, requiring 600F, you first will HAVE TO clean the not just the grates, but also the inside as any oil left will catch fire at 600F+. It doesn't happen in gas or maybe others as the setup would be further down. Hypothetically speaking, if Lumin was 3 times as tall, it would not happen. But as grates and the bottom are so close, they both reach 600F and will catch fire if not cleaned. FYI...Overall, very happy. Electric combined with smoke tube will give you at the very least same taste as gas grill.I already did a lot of smoked wings and with the pellets, the taste surpassed gas grill without a smoke tube/smoke function. Steak tastes great with the smoke infused.Grates clean well, The machine's general cleaning is a bit more complicated, we'll see how it goesPS. I didn't get the legs/stand as after reading reviews, they were ALL bad... It's interesting they released supposedly a nice machine, but cheap plastic stand that isn't very good. I bought a bbq table at 1/2 of the cost and more space.
