Restyled for 2014, the Weber Q 240 is now the Weber Q 2400. The grill has the same great performance and sleek styling, but adds new aesthetics that are both functional and fun, including larger grip handle and control knobs, ergonomic side handles, sturdy front and rear cradles plus the familiar Weber Q logo branded in the lid. The Weber Q 2400 Electric grill raises the bar on flavor expectations and performance of an electric grill. Sear burgers, steaks and chops; grill chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates. You'll be amazed at the authentic grilled taste of foods cooked on this electric grill. The Weber Q 2400 grill is fully featured, yet space-saving and portable - just the ticket for grillers living in condos or any residence where restrictions govern gas and charcoal grill usage. May be used with the 2014 Weber Q Portable Cart model #6557 and Q Cart model #6525. Weber Q 2400 is for outdoor use only.

Title: Great for those of us not allowed to use propane/charcoal in our buildings
Review: I added the below to the review page for the griddle add-on for this item and thought it might be helpful here as well...IMPORTANT UPDATE 6/15/2014I ordered a second griddle because I prefer cooking on a flat surface since it is mainly veggies and small items. The plan was to replace BOTH the grates with these griddles but the instruction booklet that came with the griddle plate was very vague. There is a picture of an electric cord, which I am assuming means for the electric model-- and next to that is a picture of a flat griddle placed on the left side of the unit. There is a picture of the flat griddle placed on the right side, but that picture has a sad face. There is no other information provided for the electric model of this grill. Unfortunately, that is what happens when you try to create one instruction manual to cover multiple items that are very similar in appearance but VERY different as far as how they actually work.Under the sad face picture, it says "Do not use two griddles side by side on your Weber GAS grill." There is no mention of the electric version but the sad face concerned me. I just called Weber and they informed me that you cannot use two griddles side by side on this unit because it may overheat since the entire top will be covered and there's no real escape for all of the heat. Just a heads up if you are considering doing this. You can only use one and it should be placed on your left when you are standing in front of the grill. I totally get the reasoning for this but other electric griddles have flat tops and there is apparently no issue there. I did not want to chance it with this one without getting verification from Weber first.Original review:I picked this up a few days ago because I had been using a small, tabletop grill and wanted to go all out. It was much more expensive than the other offerings and I thought long and hard about the Meco versus this model. In the end, I chose this one because since this type of thing uses a lot of electricity, I figured the higher price would provide a much higher build quality. I cannot compare this to the Meco since I did not get that one, but the build quality on this grill is fantastic. Everything feels so well made.It is listed here as being over 40 pounds but I find that hard to believe. I did take it out of the box and put it in my car to take home and the unit without the cooking grates is nowhere near too heavy to carry up a flight of stairs. In fact, the box with the two grill plates was much heavier than the grill and that required two hands but was very doable.Assembly was very easy and my first dinner was grilled veggies and burgers. I use a mix of carrot chips, string beans and onions marinated in teriyaki sauce and had to put them in a small, square pan so they would not fall through. They came out great for the first go. The burgers were seared and well done as we like them and we were very pleased.I did notice that the surge protector that I have this plugged into (I do not have an outlet near the window so I am forced to use one) showed a very dim light on the "Overload" button but the circuit did not trip. Unfortunately, we are renters so changing anything electric wise is not allowed. The circuit did not trip and after several days of using it, we have had no problems as far as tripping the breaker, so that is good.Today, I grilled two shell steaks, some baby potatoes and the same mix of veggies. Today's dinner did not require a small pan because I bought the "griddle" attachment for this grill. It is available here on Amazon and you substitute that griddle for one of the slotted grates. This allows you to cook on a flat surface if needed and that's a great convenience. The griddle is not smooth like the grates are and that was a little disappointing but it really expands the possibilities on this grill.Dinner was great. The steaks had nice grill marks on them, the veggies and potatoes were good. The carrots were a little too crunchy for my taste so I know for next time. I'm looking forward to using this a lot this summer.Cleaning is a bit rough. We have a small sink but the grates fit in there and I soak them in hot soapy water for about 30 minutes once they are cool enough to remove from the unit. The inner jacket comes out as well and will need to be soaked and scrubbed. It's a job, but worth it to be able to cook outdoors and not have all that cooking heat in the apartment. All in all I am extremely pleased with this grill.

Title: Perfect for apartment patios
Review: I am replacing the smaller Q1400 that I owned for 4 years. I loved that grill, but found it to be a bit small, even for our family of 2 older adults. The Q2400 is large enough to handle a dozen ears of corn or burgers plus a tray for veggies.Positive points: easy to set up, just plug it in and twist the dial. Easy cleanup. It all disassembles and is easy to clean. Gets hot enough to sear and leave nice grill marks. The enameled grates do not stick to food and brush clean easily.Negatives: Not many. The stand is expensive and not usable. We use it on a utility cart instead. There wasn't a ideal cover, so we had to improvise. The gas models have a side shelf, but this isn't an option on the electric models.

Title: Mighty Little Grill
Review: I wanted to go electric because I was tired of changing out the propane tanks, and didnât have a gas hookup. I followed the instructions and heated the grill for 20 mins. I cooked beyond meat burgers and grilled veggies. The burgers had a nice char to them. Weber says this grill cooks like a convection oven, to keep the heat in, cook with the lid down. Cleanup was a breeze, using the Weber gill brush, and then washing with soap and water. I would highly recommend this grill.

Title: Pizza Pizza Pizza
Review: Our Q2400 was easy to assemble, is remarkably large size, sturdy on the Weber stand. Making BBQ pizza on our gas BBQ grill has been a favorite. When our condo HOA outlawed gas BBQ grills we thought it was the end of an era. We found nothing in our research on electric grills about cooking pizza. We went with the Weber Q2400 due to its high ratings. So happy to report it does an excellent job with pizza. Hooray! Crisp crust, gooey cheese, nice charring. Mmm. Did a great job with halibut, too. So far, we aren't missing our gas grill a bit.

Title: Great alternative to a gas grill
Review: I previously owned the gas equivalent, the Q1200, and this is very similar. My condo association doesn't allow a gas grill on our de.ck, so I gave this a try. Can it do a good job on a steak? Yes. It has just enough heat. Another 100 degrees would be nice, but it's adequate. Also great for pork chops, and medium heat for 45 minutes makes excellent chicken legs.We bought it for our condo in Michigan and will definitely get another for our winter condo in Alabama.

Review: Cooks great. Love it. This is my second 2400. My old 2400 lasted 8 years outside the whole time with no cover through wind, rain and snow since we used it all year long.

Review: A little down after moving into a condo and not being able to use gas. This little bbq has been great allowing me to forget the old bbq. I have cooked pork chops, hamburgers and sausages so far and I am very happy to say this Weber is worth every penny. Very easy to clean after each use and compact so not taking up a lot of room on balcony. Follow directions and heat up for 20 minutes. Adjustable temperature is great.
