How to Descale/Clean the Kettle?

1. Filling the kettle with 1 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and 2 cups of water.
2. Boiling the liquid and leave it for 2 hours, then use a cloth to clean and wipe.
3. Rinse the kettle with clean water, and dry with a soft, clean cloth.
4. Repeat as needed.

Title: One of my favorite kitchen gadgets - also great for hot water in garage
Review: This thing is so awesome. It's almost my favorite kitchen gadget but my coffee grinder is way up there so it comes in as one of my favorites. It's in the top 2.I was not sure if it would live up to the claims and the reviews but it was on sale so I thought I'd try it. I am so glad I did, it is awesome and worth full price.It boils water very quickly. I use RO water and have had no buildup/deposits/scale at all. I have well water with plenty of minerals and I suspect that would cause gradual buildup but if you want zero maintenance use RO water.It's great for coffee and other hot drinks but it's also awesome for ramen. I pour hot water in a container with ramen and don't even put it on the stove. It has to sit a little longer than if it was on the stove but this thing is so quick to boil it ends up taking less time overall. 5 and a half minutes in a pyrex container with the lid on and ramen is done.Also, it's awesome for the garage if you are doing workbench stuff out there and need hot water. I have a hose spigot in my garage but it's cold only. An electric kettle plus a stainless steam table tray as an improvised sink and you have hot water without going in and out of the house while working on projects.

Title: Best kettle I've used under $100.
Review: When you first get this, you'll be put off by the apparent low quality of the materials used to make the kettle. Please dispel that feeling and put it to use!This is a relatively quick boiling kettle, with no-rim design meaning you can fully empty it. It has a one hour standby which is on by default but can be disabled. Unlike my previous kettle, this one works every single time! Glows blue while heating, then goes white at the desired temperature (has six selections for temps).It's also the best kettle I've used in terms of dealing with hard water. Easy to clean, and the particles are generally tiny (not flakes) but do not pass the screen, allowing you to use most of the water you boil. I can't tell you how rare this is--I've probably owned four different kettles in the past 15-20 years, and this is frankly the best of the bunch from the hard water perspective.The only con--when the unit is low on water (last pour or two) some steam escapes from the top of the handle. Be wary of that and you'll be fine.

Review: [UPDATE: I've learned to love it after 6 months of reliable use. We boil water in it 5 or 6 times a day, and still going strong. It does eventually shut off by itself, but only after 5-plus minutes of full boil--an inconvenience if you forget about it, but not dangerous.The pros well outweigh the negatives, so I've upgraded to 4 stars. It's reliable, nicely designed, boils quickly, glass stays clean. I now recommend it as a buy.][UPDATE: I sent it back and got another one. This one stays on, but it doesn't turn off when the water boils--or even 5 minutes after full boiling. It just keeps going and going until you shut off manually.]A nicely designed kettle that will not stay on. The on/off switch turns off as soon as you turn it on. If you wait and then hold it down for several seconds, it will sometimes stay on for 10 or 20 seconds more, before shutting off again.I am quite familiar with these kettles with the Strix thermostat inside. I have a similar one of a different brand that I repaired myself by sourcing a new thermostat from Alibaba in China.The British-designed Strix is the best available thermostat for electric kettles, and usually lasts 8,000-plus uses. I always make sure the kettles I order have these installed. However, they are occasionally out of adjustment. A thermostat is an electrico-mechanical device dependent upon a piece of springy metal, known as a bimetallic strip, that bends with temperature increase, owing to the different coefficients of expansion of the two metals. Any slight maladjustment in the tension on the strip can cause it to shut off too quickly as mine is doing.The kettle I bought and am now returning is from Amazon Warehouse and rated as "Used like new." It came in an undamaged box, properly packed and cushioned, and with all the paperwork. Clearly no one took the trouble to fill it with water and test it, or they would have found out it was defective. I fault Amazon for simply recycling stuff at a discount without pre-testing, and also the manufacturer for shipping a defective item without a pre-test.I suppose both businesses know the failure rate of their products, and calculate that the expense they incur on 2-way shipping of the small percentage of defective items is more than made up for by the profit they earn on the good ones plus the bad ones that are not returned. I will thus throw my small monkey wrench into this unscrupulous process by giving them a well-deserved 1-star rating, and hope against hope that it may contribute to their moral/ethical reform.I still believe, somewhere deep down, that running a superior and above-board business with proper quality control could prove more profitable in the long run then shipping out a known percentage of defective products and having to take the loss on returns. Even as I also recognize in this thought the possibility that I am guided by my own wishful naivété. The almighty forces of the market seem to dictate that the current practice of shipping a certain percentage of junk, is more profitable for both the manufacturer and online retailer.So shame on you Cosori and Amazon for your unscrupulous yet highly successful business practices! (And woe to me for attempting to oppose the seemingly omnipotent Zeitgeist.)

(don't ask, but this is our 4th kettle, I have kettle-fatigue ...)It's a good capacity if you need to boil water for cooking or have a lot of people needing a cuppa, but it's pretty lightweight and the handle is well-insulated and makes it easy to lift. It lights up blue to show it's boiling and then beeps when completed (not always obvious if set to a lower temperature) and if the keep-warm function is enabled, it lights up white. The keep-warm function is easy to turn on and off and whatever it's set to is saved from then on (indicated with a blue or white light on the power switch, though strangely the white light on the switch means it's off - IMO it would make more sense to be the other way round).The temperature control options are easy to operate and most importantly, they work as you'd expect - some kettles insist on always boiling to 212F / 100C and then cooling down to the set temp (which is a waste of energy and could be dangerous) but this stops when the temperature is reached on the way up - perfect!. We had issues with our last kettle never turning off due to the 3,500ft altitude preventing 212F ever being reached, even when a lower temp was set, but this one works perfectly (and still turns off when set to fully boil).Overall, very happy with it for the price. The only minor complaint would be the guard filter which doesn't look like it will be very effective as there is a large gap between it and the glass, but as the kettle looks like it should be easy to clean, it shouldn't be needed anyway and it does look fairly robust.

Review: The website was warning about the US product which can be understand as the plug is US type. All products ordered from US were for 11 to 250V. This is only for 120V. It should be clearly indicated. Using US plug is no problem but appliances for 120V I never experienced. Now I must returned but Amazon asked me to pay for the return postage! I was a fan of Amazon but recently I am having doubts about using them again! All turns into rubbish. The Prime TV has now better movies only for sale or renting.
