Title: Great charger!
Review: I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase of the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger! The "dumb" charger -- meaning not the 'smart' charger is what I came to purchase after reading about the internet connectivity issues. This charger is simple, works great, looks great and I am very happy with this item.Easy Installation: The NEMA 14-50 plug makes setup a breeze – just plug it in, and you’re ready to go. No need for complicated wiring or professional installation unless you’re mounting it permanently. [yes, there should be a cover on the exterior NEMA outlet! - but that is between me and my electrician... separate from the grizzl-e itself,]Robust Build Quality: The metal case enclosure feels solid and built to last. It’s UL Certified, which gave me peace of mind about safety, and it performs beautifully outdoors, even in heavy rain.Super Fast Charging: With 40A output, my hybrid Jeep wrangler charges from zero to full in just over a couple hours.Weather-Resistant Design: This charger lives outside, and the fact that it’s designed to handle various weather conditions has proven true. I haven’t experienced any hiccups, even in wet conditions – this thing is a tank![Note: AI helped me write this review, however, it was edited and submitted by a real live human, and I did indeed purchase the grizzl-e charger and installed it on my house as shown in the attached image.]

Title: Very robust, works well, completely satisfied.
Review: I purchased the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2, 40 Amp with the NEMA 14-50 plug. Everything about it is robust. The aluminum case that houses the electric/electronic components is very rigid and heavy. The cables are flexible yet sturdy. The J1772 connector is solid and fits correctly.I prefer that this charger has no wireless communication or app that you'd have to use with a smart-phone to get it to work. In my opinion, those are unnecessary. My car's app gives me all the control I need or want. There is no need to pay twice for technology to duplicate what I already have.Additional information comes from a single multi-function/multicolor LED that shows ready, in use, finished charging and also flashes trouble codes (explained in the manual). I plugged it in, and it just worked.I like the fact that this charger is made in North America. According to the manufacturer's website, all the materials and electronics are sourced in Canada or the USA. I'm no electrical engineer, but opening the chassis (4 screws, it's designed to be opened) increased my confidence. Everything is laid out well, and clearly labeled. The electrical connections and components inside seem especially solid, and of good quality. The good workmanship inside is obvious. The user's manual is clear and plain English, with good illustrations and straightforward explanations. It's all the information you need, logically laid out.Amperage output is selectable through small switches inside. I chose 30 Amp output, (my car only has a 6.6 kW inverter, so it can draw no more than 27 Amps) but higher and lower outputs are also possible.I chose to hard-wire the charger. The Grizzl-E already has GFCI (ground circuit interrupter) protection, built in, but in my jurisdiction, any receptacle in a potentially wet location, such as a garage floor, requires a GFCI circuit breaker. Since double GFCI is potentially problematic and GFCI breakers and high-quality NEMA 14-50 receptacles are expensive, hard-wiring was an obvious -- and considerably less expensive solution. The only complaint I have is that the "holster" that holds the J-1772 connector when not is use does not permit you to use the provided J-1772 dust and moisture cap. However, since my charger is at the back of the garage, the holster alone should sufficiently protect the J-1772 connector's contacts. That niggle aside, the holster also holds the charger's cord when not in use, so that's a plus. All in all, I'm very satisfied. I recommend it without hesitation.

Title: This Is A Great No-Nonsense Charger And White Is So Much Better!
Review: On Jul 30, 2020, I had ordered a Grizzl-E Classic. It seems to be almost exactly the same as this Avalanche, except it's black. It has to be out in the sun and weather. I have no garage and all the electric is on the south side of the building and I don't want to buy $500 worth of wire and run it around to the other side of this building. So, that one quit in October, this year. That doesn't seem very long to me. That thing got HOT out there in the sun on a 95 degree plus day. All the stickers on the outside of it had fallen off. I even wrote that in the review. I don't know if that's why, but a while later, they came out with this white one! When it broke in October, I got done making sure there was still 240 volt power to the 14-50 outlet weatherproof outlet box, took that Classic apart, saw two fuses that both looked and checked good. The next step would have been to scour Al Gore's "Internets" and see if I could get a schematic, and|or contact the Canadian company for a schematic and see if they were nice enough, and|or take the board out of it and follow traces around and try to figure things out. Nah. I'm old and tired and wanted a white one anyway. Do NOT underestimate the difference between black and white as far as gathering heat from the sun! So, since it had gotten cheaper anyway, I ordered this Avalanche; two birds with one stone. I got a black Classic instead. I deliberated and decided to start with Amazon. YAY, AMAZON! No muss, no fuss. After explaining the somewhat complicated state of affairs, I was sent this Avalanche (and it is white! YAY!) and got paperwork and stuff to send the broken Classic back! (I haven't done that yet; I wanted to make sure I actually got the right one and that it worked first.) Now, I've got this one (Avalanche) mounted and I had to move the 6 foot dryer cord that I'd bought for this one over to the Avalanche. It's working great! The Classic has a circuit board rev 1 and this Avalanche has a rev 6 point something circuit board. The nozzle that plugs into the car is much nicer and better looking! And it works just fine and, in my opinion, looks better! The charging cord on this Avalanche is MUCH smaller, lighter and more flexible! Nice! So now I have to send the Classic back. The Amazon rep (real nice lady) told me I have until Feb to do that.We have a Chevy Bolt and a Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Plug-In. An Emporia charger is the primary for the Bolt. That thing has a pretty huge battery and the Emporia is hard wired and is set all the way up to 50 amps (12 kw). This one (Avalanche) has about 50 feet of 10 gauge wire inside the building, which is 40 amps, but 80% as per code, is 32 amps. I now have an ideal setup! If the Emporia breaks, I can use this one for either car (A little slower for the Bolt; overkill for the Ioniq since the Ioniq throttles it down to about 12 amps anyway, only having an 8.9 kwh battery.) PERFECT! You don't want to buy two EV's and still only be a one car family because of the charger situation! This Avalanche has one drawback: It comes with a really short - 12 inches or 18 inches - power cord. My 14-50 outlet is about 2 feet off the ground and the Avalanche is about 4-5 feet off the ground, to the right of the outlet. To make that work, I had to go buy a dryer cord at the hardware store. Now the power cord loops between the bottom of the Avalanche to the outlet with a drip loop that goes almost to the ground before plugging into the bottom of the outlet for maximum protection against water! PERFECT! Now that it's white and doesn't get 170 degrees or whatever inside, I love everything else about it! It's all aluminum and TOTALLY waterproof (and bug and dust proof)! And it can be set to 16. 24, 32, or 40 amps using dip switches inside the unit to perfectly match whatever kind of wiring you have! Very nice charger! I had another charger years ago, that was nowhere near waterproof and had an inch deep lake in the bottom and corroded contacts when it finally broke. Night and day! Water proof is the way to go on planet Earth.

Review: Heavy duty, well built, solid device. Easy to plug in once you have a receptacle installed. Simple to use. Just plug in, let the vehicle accept and it charges quickly every time. I’m so glad I purchased this and not some of the others. The reviews are great. The device is solid, built in Canada. The customer service is responsive, pleasant and helpful. I don’t worry about intermittent failed charging issues or App issues. I have a smart car and all the data is available through my vehicles App. This simple, solid built device does what it’s designed to do, and does it well. The charging cord is heavy duty, yet flexible. Next day delivery was perfect. The top selling model recommended would have taken 5-10 days! I was picking up my new vehicle in 4 days And needed my electrician to find time to install and get the work inspected/approved. So happy I went with this charger.

Review: J'ai installé la borne hier et elle fonctionne tel que décrite. Je met 4 étoiles car au même prix il existe des borne intelligente avec application. Grizzle pourrait baisser le prix de celle-ci pour être compétitif.

Review: I bought this item and shipped it to UAE as per Q&A seller mentioned it works in this region. Installed it and fault beeping kept on buzzing. I contacted the manufacturer united chargers and this is the exact message I got:'We going to launch European version of grizzl-e closer to October of this year. Current North American versions of Grizzl-e will not work on your power type!'Totally returning the Item, please guys don't fall into this waste of time, they buy bunch of them and resell in different market just to make extra money disregarding the safety aspect for end user this is a high voltage item being sold without provisions if it works in region electrical conditions. Not sure how amazon allows such bad act
