Title: Rare case of cover versions being better than the original
Review: Sting wrote “Fields of Gold” so his version must be the best? Wrong! Eva somehow lifts it (and the other songs on this album) to another level.

Title: Eva's singing lives on
Review: This is a great collection of Eva's interpretations of jazz and pop standards. The tune choice is nothing special - these songs have been covered by countless artists over the years. However Eva's interpretations of these tunes were what made them fresh and powerful. The vocal line in the book faithfully reproduces Eva's unique blues and gospel phrasing and superb use of building and releasing tension. If you can't learn her style just by listening, this book will point you the rest of the way.

Title: The Best Of Eva Cassidy -very nice
Review: Do you like Eva Cassidy? Do you want to play and sing with her special style? I found this book challenging for me, just a plain piano player. And I was glad that the tunes are in a low voice, just like on her albums, so I can sing and play just for my own enjoyment. I am so glad to have this music in my collections.
