Title: Fit my needs perfectly!
Review: I am reviewing the 8000 GB (8 TB) Desktop.Okay, I knew going in that this was a "shingled" drive. But, I needed it for archival storage, so I figured it would work and I was right. I have a home network and a home server. I nedded to expand the capacity of that server. This is my experience. The drive arrived on schedule. It was easy to unbox and I liked the look, feel and solid weight of it. 30 minutes after unboxing it was connected to my server. It took only few minutes to reformat it for linux. (Who would want to run a server on anything else?) After formatting I got down to work.Let me say here that it runs only slightly warm, never hot. It does make a sound, but is quiet and doesn't bother me at all. It comes with it's own power so my computer doesn't have to supply it.Anyway, the first thing that had to happen was moving about 4 TB of files onto it. I started the copy and went away. It's a shingled drive so I knew it would take a while. And it did :)The next day I set up the Samba share, let Jellyfin scan it, and I was in business. It has now been running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for tw-months. It performs beautifully. No problems and no issues. It is a perfect archival drive. It's performance is way better than needed for it's purpose. I really like this drive and it is approaching 6.5 TB, so I will need to get another one soon. Can't think of any reason not to get another one of these. So far I am VERY satisfied with this purchase. One thing I wanted to know going it was how long it might last running 24/7. Never could get an answer. But, so far, better than good!

Title: Works great on a Mac, buttttt
Review: I have had no trouble with my 8TB drive working on my iMac. Yes, I had to reformat it and that took a little research online to figure it out. But it works great. So great that I'm purchasing the 16TB drive today because I've almost filled the 8TB up. I haven't tried to use it with Time Machine - I have a different drive for that - but I have no doubt it would work. Instead, I use it as extra space, loading all my media and documents on it.I love it. I know there are a ton of 'Doesn't work with a Mac' reviews, but I can only assume the steps it takes to reformat the drive scared them off. (Because yes, there is that slight moment of panic when you follow the directions and your computer warns you it's going to erase the entire drive.) But once the drive is reformatted, I haven't had one issue with it. I had MacOS Catalina when I bought it. I now have MacOS Big Sur. Still no issues. (Except for it getting filled up LOL - but that's my fault, not its 😉 )Update 3/8/21: For those who have BigSur on their Mac - the power distribution via BigSur is perfectly f'd up. So whereas before my update to BigSur, I could leave my external hard drives plugged in and when it started up the next morning, everything was fine, now with BigSur, I have to unplug my externals when not in use. ANNOYING - especially since my iMac retains its connection and won't let me eject them easily unless I turn it off! And this isn't Seagate's issue - this is VERY MUCH an Apple mistake they aren't fixing. What happens if I don't? The computer won't start. The loading screen will get to 25% and stall. Once it even slid off the edge of the screen. I have to then force the computer to stop. And then restart. Then it starts up (Usually). I love Seagate, but am not happy with Apple. I'm getting to the point where there aren't any computers I can trust. I won't do Windows and this will be my last Apple machine. We seriously need an OS that works, is stable, and won't steal our data.

Title: Extra Space - Perfect for backups
Review: After noticing that the drives that had failed me most often were by other manufacturers, I have relied on Seagate devices to store my precious data. So, when I needed more space to back up my primary drives, getting a new Seagate external memory was a no brainer. At 16T it easily backs up the primary drives for photos and data with lots of room to grow. I've never had to use their "data recovery" but always nice to know it is there if needed. Performance has been as expected from USB 3.0 speed. The only slowdown appears to be the need to transfer the older data via my computer. For power, it came with several additional places that can be used to fit power outlets in other countries. - unnecessary for me, and I really don't plan to travel with this drive. Performance has been very quiet, being literally an arm's length away, I don't hear it operating. Even while writing, data retrieval has been quick and efficient.Only real negative was that I was expecting far quicker delivery being a Prime member as well as this being a Prime day purchase. Instead, I got several email messages saying the dates had been delayed, advanced, moved back again, and even when finally arrived came the next day. Fortunately, I wasn't in a hurry - this time.Overall, price is good. (edited - Good Grief! has the price increased since I was looking at this both before and after purchase, that deal I took advantage of is now long gone.) Seagate has a proven track record for reliability, and I expect to be using it for a very long time.

Review: Excelente disco duro.

Customers like the storage capacity and value of the computer drive. They mention it's a great large drive for storage, with the right price point for storage size. Some are also happy with the ease of use and build quality. However, some customers have reported that the drive is noisy and buzzes like an electronic insect. They dislike hard drive failures. Opinions are mixed on functionality and speed.
