Title: Works REALLY well after mascara
Review: If youâve seen the trendy K-Pop video makeup tutorials, youâve noticed the hot burnt wooden sticks used for curling lashes by the top Korean makeup artists. Iâve tried the method but it was very unnerving as I was afraid to burn myself. I ordered this heated curler thinking I could probably emulate that method more conveniently and safely.This curler allows for four heat settings, 55, 65, 75, and 85 celsius degrees, which is 131F - 185F. You long-press the on/off button to turn it on, and a quick press allows you to choose your preferred heat setting. Initially, I tried the lowest setting but my stubborn lashes didnât budge until 85C.The raised bumps near the indented heated wires prevent accidental burns. It helped me when I combed the skin on top of my hand to get over the fear of getting burned, as you can alarmingly feel the heat near the eyes. The curls developed pretty slowly for my stubborn lashes, and I wasnât sure if Iâd keep using this when a quick press of an eyelash curler usually does the job in seconds. However, the heated curler worked superbly for my thinner bottom lashes, which I was happy about.The magic happened after the mascara application. Because my natural lashes are straight, they lose curls after applying non-waterproof mascaras. I tried the heated curler to get the curls back and it was amazing to see the pronounced curls set in, just as in the makeup artists who use heated sticks AFTER the mascara application.Subsequently, I found out that the lashes curl much faster when thereâs a bit of moisture on the hair, so dampening your lashes or using it right after washing your face may do the trick if you experience trouble as I did initially. I found the heat also works well for my extremely stubborn unruly eyebrows to my delight.The device heats up fast and auto shuts off after 10 minutes, and the battery indicator flashes when needing a charge after many uses. The fine metal eyelash comb that comes with a protective cap is a bonus and works well to separate lashes. Five stars!
