Title: I'm a Fan of this.
Review: This Amazon basics fan (the larger size) was both low cost and functional. At low speed, it is nearly silent, yet still moves enough air that I can feel it from across the room. Highest speed, well, moves a ton of air, but, of course, at the cost of the greater sound of pushing all that air. It does not oscillate, but I knew that going in. It does have snap to adjustable height settings (5 in all) from horizontal to vertical. There is a built in slot at the top that serves as a handle, but it is not very deep.

Review: For its small size, this fan certainly moves the air. It has 3 speed settings and can be tilted upwards (although not downwards.) It's very quiet on low and medium settings - gets a bit louder at high speed, but still not too bad and sometimes a bit of white(ish) noise is useful for covering more distracting sounds.It can be seen through the grill that this uses a small open-frame motor, like most fans. At this price point, it will likely have minimalist bronze or brass bushings. The shaft looks to be about 5mm in diameter with a fairly long extension out of the motor, and there is some vibration when it is running, therefore, I don't expect an exceptionally long life from the bushings.However, it's working great right out of the box! I will give it 5 stars for the moment with the option of reconsidering if it fails prematurely.

The apartment is so poorly ventilated I am certain it will be used all winter long. Reasonably priced, and I am hoping will be durable for as long as possible. Quiet too.
