THE OVERNIGHT VIRAL SENSATION AND NATIONAL BESTSELLER

The bestselling phenomenon, When the Moon Hatched, is a fast-paced fantasy romance featuring an immersive, vibrant world with mysterious creatures, a unique magic system, and a love that blazes through the ages.

The Creators did not expect their beloved dragons to sail skyward upon their end. To curl into balls just beyond gravity’s grip, littering the sky with tombstones. With moons. They certainly did not expect them to FALL.

As an assassin for the rebellion group Fíur du Ath, Raeve’s job is to complete orders and never get caught. When a rival bounty hunter turns her world upside down, blood spills, hearts break, and Raeve finds herself imprisoned by the Guild of Nobles—a group of powerful fae who turn her into a political statement.

Crushed by the loss of his great love, Kaan Vaegor took the head of a king and donned his melted crown. Now on a tireless quest to quell the never-ebbing ache in his chest, he is lured by a clue into the capitol’s high-security prison where he stumbles upon the imprisoned Raeve....

Echoes of the past race between them.

There’s more to their story than meets the eye, but some truths are too poisonous to swallow.

""A wild ride that thrills as much as it enchants . . . This remarkable book is an instant classic.” — Thea Guanzon, New York Times bestselling author of The Hurricane Wars

“When The Moon Hatched breathes new, beautiful life into the genre, as Sarah A. Parker weaves lyrical prose with undeniable chemistry. I laughed, I cried, I got everything out of this. It’s an absolutely stunning fantasy world that everyone should sink their teeth into.” — Raven Kennedy, internationally bestselling author of The Plated Prisoner series

Title: Breathtaking
Review: This is my first time reading Sarah’s work and I am already a superfan. Her writing style is so descriptive and intense, I found myself slowing down a notch just to absorb every word and take myself where she was leading. It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything this rich and decadent. I’m also thrilled with her balance of humor and heartbreak. I found all the main characters so believable and relatable… and there’s DRAGONS and SLOWBURN. What’s not to love?

Title: One of my favorite reads of the year!
Review: When I first started reading When the Moon Hatched, I found the pace a bit slow, as the world and its intricate magic system were carefully laid out. But once the story began to unfold, I was completely hooked. The true heart of this book lies in the intense, emotionally charged romance between Raeve, a skilled assassin and member of the Ath, and Kaan Vaegor, a king burdened by the loss of his loved one. Their relationship is fraught with strife and difficulty, as both characters are deeply scarred by their pasts and the circumstances that bring them together.Raeve’s life takes a dangerous turn when she becomes the target of a relentless bounty hunter employed by the crown, throwing her into a deadly game where survival is uncertain. Meanwhile, Kaan, driven by the unyielding pain of his loss, embarks on a quest for a moon shard in a desperate attempt to ease the never-ending ache in his heart. His journey leads him into Gore’s infamous prison, where he encounters Raeve, a fierce, shackled warrior who challenges everything he thought he knew. The romance between Raeve and Kaan is intense and layered with complexity. Their connection is both passionate and fraught with tension, as they navigate the dangers of their world and the personal demons that haunt them. The chemistry between them is palpable, filled with moments of raw emotion and witty banter that make their love story both compelling and deeply moving.Parker’s world-building is immersive, with dragons that become moons upon their death, a unique magical system, and the ever-present influence of the creators who never expected their dragons to fall. These elements add a layer of mystique and wonder to the story, making the stakes feel even higher asRaeve and Kaan navigate a world filled with danger and political intrigue.By the time I reached the climax, I was fully invested in the fates of these characters. The plot twists, emotional depth, and the intertwining of romance with fantasy kept me turning pages late into the night. This book is a fast-paced adventure that combines love, loss, mystery, and magic in a way that’s both engaging and deeply satisfying. When the Moon Hatched is perfect for fans of witty banter, strong, sassy protagonists, and complex worlds filled with magic and mystery. It’s a story that rewards readers with a thrilling ride and a romance that burns brightly against a backdrop of grief, danger, and political intrigue. I can’t wait for the sequel.

Title: You might want to wait a bit...
Review: Book 2 comes out in the fall of 2025, and for a book like this, waiting that long is going to be tough! There's loss, love, adventure, dragons, and holy moly are the twists unexpected! The world building is fantastic, the time line changes are easy to follow and the characters have considerable depth, especially the FMC. She's sassy, powerful, but dealing with some crazy stuff that absolutely influences her choices and sometimes gets her into a bit of a pickle. But here's the thing about the series as it stands... Book 1 ends on a cliff hanger that promises the second book to be wild, so if you're a reader that is going to end up in a reading slump from a fantastic story that is currently incomplete, wait. Otherwise, enjoy!

Review: Book 1 of a series. Ends in a cliffhanger.GENERAL IMPRESSION: Beautiful, twisted, unexpected, mysterious, sexy, heartbreaking, gory, violent, tender... just a few words to describe this amazing work of art. I will be reading it again and getting the audiobook to listen to it in my car. It's THAT good. And you'll want to reread it once all the puzzle pieces are in place, reading it from a IYKYK standpoint.FLOW: Starts with a violent and gory bang, then it slows down a bit to allow for world and character building. Then, by 30% the pace picks up and never slows down. I found it hard to put it down past the 30% mark. It is absolutely normal to feel confused throughout, but don't worry, your questions will be answered.CHARACTERS: Reave, our main female character is introduced as an assassin, definitely NOT a damsel in distress. Kaan, our main male character is a rugged sweetheart, manly yet so caring, broken and sad.SPICE: For me, it was the perfect balance of slow burn & tension build-up vs actual intimate scenes. Descriptive sex scenes are very few but are present. If you don't like descriptive sex, you can easily skip those parts, seeing as they don't overwhelm the book. For those who enjoy the spice, I found they were very well written, filled with feeling and hotness and intent (i.e. moves the story forward, as opposed to gratuitous)WRITING STYLE AND QUALITY: The writing style is very lyrical, almost poetic, diving deep into beautiful and sometimes painful imagery to describe how the characters are feeling. It took some getting used to at first but I loved the sensory descriptiveness of it all.Multiple POVs, 1st person, present tense: I counted at least 7 different POVs, although most of the story is told from Reave's POV.TRIGGERS, WARNINGS, ETC: Not for a younger reading audience. Descriptive violence and torture (on page), gore, descriptive sex (if you're not into that), light mention of rape and child abuse (not on page) at start of story when describing one of the evil characters but not part of main plot.My 5-star criteria:- Did I read through the night? YES!- Did I cry or laugh out loud? YES! Oh the tears!- Am I going to reread? ABSOLUTELY!!!- Will I be purchasing in multiple formats? YES!!! (ebook, audiobook and possibly hardcover)

Review: Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Got totally invested in the characters. There is plenty of complex world building; dragons; Fae and brilliant, edgy love story. The FMC is tough and spiky with many broken layers which slowly untangle as the story progresses. The MC is a perfect foil to her, principled, loyal, passionate plus interesting side characters emerge as the book progresses. The author drowns you in rich, complex descriptions of the FMC's emotional turmoil that completely invests you in her heart-wrenching journey and back story..Plenty of twists and surprises - maybe not for those who prefer a more linear, easy read.Cliff hanger ending leaving me desperate for book 2
