Title: Pur Plus Stainless Water Filter
Review: I purchased the Pur Plus to replace my old one. It was the same model that lasted for many years. I hope this one lasts as long. It is easy to install. The price was competitive. Arrived on time.

Title: Get these over the Britta (Read the comment)
Review: Here are my thoughts -Get any system (PUR, Britta whatever) instead of using single-use water bottles and supporting Nestle. But let me get off my soapbox for a minute. The PUR systems have some sort of soft, low-force design on the tap that switches from the filter to the inbuilt aerator. Basically, to switch between the two positions the switch requires minimal to no actuation force. Instead, it relies on travel. So while there is no force required to switch it, you aren't mistakenly going to switch between the two. In comparison, the Britta filters require a LOT of force to switch. This force gets transferred to your gooseneck faucet and "breaks" it (it will start leaking from the swivel it is set in). This requires you to fix all that stuff which is a pain. I know it sounds silly discussing this, but if you have used a Britta filter, you know this to be an actual issue. In addition, the hard water from taps clogs up the Britta switching mechanism forcing you to exert EVEN MORE FORCE, thus exacerbating the leaking issue. You can fix this bad design by using CLR but I don't want to buy more stuff to fix broken stuff instead of buying something that has been properly designed. Now, you can get the britta, be smart and sensible, and hold/brace the faucet in place from the bottom so you can counteract the force with your hand thus saving the gooseneck, but I am a guy who removes his glasses all cool like they do in the movies so that should tell you about what I think of that method (nobody has time to brace the faucet with their hands). So, on pure design and longevity alone, buy these. However, the Britta system is more popular and thus you can find cartridges in Walmart (your mileage may vary) compared to the PUR systems. In either case, you can just get them from Amazon.Otherwise, the taste is solid. Also, the chrome is plastic painted over. This is not actually metal.

Title: TL;DR, you might not need to use the included adapters. Also, it's bulky.
Review: This PUR filter is a little bulkier than the previous model I had (model FM-4000B, with the vertical cartridge). It's a little bit wider and much longer because the cartridge is horizontal, meaning if you have a gooseneck faucet like mine, you're not going to gain a whole lot of space by swinging it under like I used to. This filter doesn't seem to have a quick-release to allow you to easily remove the whole thing if you ever need to. It doesn't feel like it was built to allow it to rotate like the older one was.Water flow in filter mode is just as slow as ever. As with the older model, this model has a LED indicator, powered by a non-replaceable battery, that reminds you to change the filter. It's a pretty nice feature for people who tend to forget how long they've been running the filter. It doesn't include any of that Bluetooth nonsense--the last thing I need is another separate app on my phone to track a single "smart device" in my home.Lastly, as noted in the title, I didn't need the included adapters, unlike the previous model. The instructions were a bit confusing at first, because Step 3 shows the installation of an adapter, just like the previous version, but the text says to install the device as shown in Step 4. Before I caught onto that detail, I saw a note in the instructions that says if the adapters don't fit (and none of them did), to go to the support site. The support site will send you a "free" adapter kit for the cost of shipping. I was pretty miffed about that, but after closer inspection of the unit itself, I noticed the threads and re-read the instructions. After a few very careful threading attempts, I managed to get the threads to seat on the faucet and it screwed right on.Minus one star for slightly unclear instructions and removing the quick-detach feature from the previous version.

Title: Good investment
Review: I had this same filter for 3+ years before the battery for the indicator light died and the unit started leaking. My taste buds all of a sudden became very sensitive to chloride and my aging back made it a pain to fill up gallon jugs at the water grocery store water dispenser. I compared the cost of water at the dispenser with the cost of PUR filters and it was well worth purchase price. When I needed a replacement I checked out other faucet-mount filters reviews and even though I saw several negative PUR reviews I decided to go for it again. The only problem I had was that someone obviously made a mistake in the warehouse and sent me a used unit. There was some lime deposits on it and even some water left inside, so I returned it and re-ordered, but cancelled that order when I found one locally.I imagine I'll continue to stick with the PUR filter when this one bites the dust.

Review: Water leaks badly from bottom of turning screw. No leak from top where it threads to the faucet. Leak worse when positioning the filter around the faucet.Stainless steel coating poor, and is peeling off.Filtered water flow is very slow. Very disappointed.

Review: Have been using the product for almost 2 years, always changed the cartridges and it does the job. But now, out of the blue, a seal along the line where the two parts of the housing (one part is mounted to the faucet, the other one holds the filter cartridge, but it looks like one piece at first glance) are joined has failed and now water is spraying everywhere, directly out of the body. On top of that it's nothing I can do anything about as this seal is not something you can access and replace. It's simply the line where the two housing parts meet. Reply from the seller was "every product has its life" but for a filter that wasn't exactly cheap to simply start falling apart in places that are not even subject to any force or movement or any external impact, looks like a case of bad manufacturing. Not a problem if this is dealt with swiftly, but simply saying yeah well you have to buy a new one is not acceptable really. Two stars becuase product did the job before falling apart, other wise would have given one only.

Review: We purchased this filtration system in November 2019. Initially, the stream of water was very very slow but we accepted that it took time for water to be properly filtered. The filtered water tasted so crisp and satisfying. It was pleasing at first. As we neared the 3-month mark, the light changed from green to yellow. Within a week, it flashed red, so there was not much time between the warning (yellow) and the red alert. I ordered Pur refills from another vendor on Amazon and replaced the old filter with a new one. Still the light continued to flash red. I tried 3 more replacements to see if the light would ever flash green but it continued to flash red. This was especially exhausting because refastening the attachment to the faucet was NOT easy. The water no longer had the improved taste. The water passed out of the spout rapidly. We compared all the details of the original filter and the new ones and confirmed that both read "Mineral Clear."Within a few short weeks, the body of the mechanism sprung a leak, then another leak and another until water sprayed everywhere. Now, the light does not flash at all, which the package warned would happen. What's the point of including a light that will expire within 6 months? Then again, Pur clearly feels comfortable selling a fully defective product. The amount of water that bursts out in every direction is enough to wash the floor. It's an absolute mess. I would never again buy this contraption. Also be mindful that this bulky item will affect your ability to wash or capture water in vessels that are deep/tall. The body of the filtration system is plastic so the silver coating on the outside could be worn away.
