Title: Great take on Oscars history
Review: Not the most comprehensive book on the Oscars out there, but definitely a very fun read with some new anecdotes and a fun structure.

Review: As a fan of the podcast Best Pick, I looked forward to the book. It didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the format of the book even when I disagreed with some of the opinions.

Title: Not a great book many better out there
Review: Very biased and not very detailed. Don’t waste your money. There’s many better out there.

Title: British Authors
Review: No thanks, I was thinking of buying this book and almost did. Yes, members of AMPAS that choose the Best Film Oscars include British folks, but the Oscars are born of Hollywood in the United States, so why do I want to buy a book about what British people think of the American Oscar winners for Best Picture?

Review: My husband's a film buff. I am absolutely not. And yet we both adored this brilliantly researched and beautifully written book. It's divided up into segments that make it the perfect coffee table book or holiday read, so easy to dip in and out of. But also, the depth of knowledge and wit of opinion and analysis make this the perfect gift for the film-buff you thought had everything.

Review: This is a great read for anyone wanting to learn more about Hollywood films - the history, the drama, the stories, and the great movies we all (mostly) love. The book takes the reader through each decade from 1920 to 2020 to review the Academy Awards for each year, including the films that won best picture and those that missed out (and probably should have won).Jess, John and Tom are excellent podcast hosts where you genuinely feel like you're listening to three of your great mates at the pub or cafe talking through movies (if you have three mates who are highly informed and experienced in the world of film, drama and storytelling). Their warmth and affection for film comes through in the book where they have captured all manner of interesting backstories in the world of film and cinema. This is an excellent gift idea for any movie lover or just as a handy book to pop in and out of. Five stars and should be 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. And check out the Podcast back catalogue too.
