Title: Fun, but wish the instructions were clearer!
Review: Overall Iâve had a real blast building this kit, Iâm not finished yet but the attached photo is how much Iâve accomplished in 3 days of leisurely working in it after clocking out from work. The biggest down side is the instructions are minimal and can be difficult to follow at times. When I build a craft like this Iâm personally very direction oriented like clear steps rather just tiny vague images providing a clue in what to do next.

Title: NOT For Newbies, or 14-Year-Olds, or Even Intermediate Crafters! VERRRRY ADVANCED!
Review: Well, I completed mine and did the dumb thing of not checking if the lights work before six months of excruciating work (waiting for glue to dry, cutting fabric, stuffing pillows, etc., etc., etc). All done? NOPE! The lights DID NOT work.I have since bought another miniature, and I am going to hook that up first to verify that the lights in that project work, then apply them to this one to determine if the battery box was bad or if ALL the lights just don't work ... period. This project was so time-consuming and over-the-top, it was mind-numbing. This is the same set that tons of different "companies" make, so I am assuming that are made from ONE place and different sellers sell it as their own creation. If the lights worked, I would give it 4 stars rather than the 2 stars, because besides being difficult, it was fun, and provided a great sense of accomplishment in the end. I will come back and amend the rating of the review if the lights do, after all, work. I may be back in a few days.

Title: Frustrating - missing pieces
Review: When I opened the kit, I was so excited to get started. I organized the pieces, got set up, got going ... and as I progressed through the build, found myself increasingly annoyed to find that:1. There were pieces missing2. Of the pieces that were there, some materials were insufficient3. The instructions were unclear in places4. When putting the main structure together, stuff doesn't quite match up properly5. There is no contact information for the manufacturer to obtain missing pieces6. There is no where to purchase a dust cover fromI ended up having to dig into my left-over pile from other kits to either manufacture replacements for the missing pieces or just omit certain parts of the kit altogether (e.g. not attaching the staircase because it doesn't align AT ALL).Don't waste your money and energy. Get something else.

Title: Fun to build!
Review: First and foremost, this is a fun book nook kit and it looks very cool when it is completed. There is also some room for customization so that you can make your scene as organized or as chaotic as you please. There is a little bit of a smell to the wood pieces when they first get unwrapped, but it dissipates pretty quickly. I also appreciate that this kit came with glue, though I found that a regular glue stick worked best for pasting the covers onto the "books".That being said, I do think that there was definitely some opportunity to improve this kit. Some of the slots/pegs don't fit together very well (too tight/too loose). Also, the book covers aren't all sized correctly for the blocks...which can easily be disguised with a furniture markers, if you are so inclined. Finally, while I appreciate the pieces coming out of the boards easily and cleanly...they were falling out on their own! It just made it difficult to try and locate some of the pieces I was looking for as they were no longer numbered - luckily, the instructions use pictures that are clear and in color...so it wasn't a major issue.I think my favorite thing about this kit is that the books all have pretty detailed and realistic covers...though their placement in the shop is sometimes questionable...for example and per instruction, the book "The Allure of Men" is placed in the Children's Book section. Again, this comes back to the customization element...but it made me laugh.Ultimately, I do recommend this kit...maybe not as a 1st experience with book nooks as the pasting is a lot and some of the instructions are a little lacking. I think it is still pretty novice friendly, and would be appropriate for a lot of people.
