Using Taylor’s 9877FDA Compact Waterproof Digital is one of the easiest ways to ensure that you always hit that core temperature. The thermometer measures temperatures between -40°F to 450°F (-40°C to 232°C) and features a button to quickly switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature scales. The 9877FDA features a fast response time of less than 6 seconds with 1 second updates for greater efficiency in the kitchen. The min/max memory and hold features help maintain control of the temperature. It also has a convenient built-in clip on the case to secure on a pocket sleeve or apron, plus the plastic sleeve snaps on to the thermometer stem so it won’t slide off. The 9877FDA has a solid, durable construction and is built to last.

Title: Compact, accurate, reasonably fast
Review: Pros:- compact & easy to use- very accurate out of the box- can be easily recalibrated (hold SET then push HOLD and MAX at the same time. Submerge in ice water for 30 seconds, press MAX again to set it to 32F/0C, then hold SET. Done!)- waterproof (haven't tested in dishwasher yet)- seems durable, at least for my use- probe cover can be used as handle extension- simple, industrial look - no bright orange flames or meat grilling tables cluttering the surface. The blue looks nice, the buttons are functional with a sturdy feelCons:- takes about 3-5 seconds for a reading, but this seems to be the norm with these types of thermometers. It updates fast once it gets to temperature.- display lacks backlight. Not an issue for me since this will extend battery life, but the thermometer will be hard to read in dark places.- buttons might feel a bit stiff to some people. Personally I think they just feel sturdy rather than stiff. Keep in mind they're supposed to be waterproof, so there's no way to make them soft and tactile.I use this thermometer for brewing tea and coffee. It's pretty much perfect for this purpose. The probe is short enough to fit most mugs and gongfu style teaware, without creating an imbalance and tipping things over. I'm sure it works great for poking meat too.

Title: Restaurant thermometer
Review: I bought these as my other thermometers were hard to change out the battery due to the cover. They are well made and work well for my kitchen leaders.

Title: Power button is tough
Review: This thermometer works very well for my work in a production kitchen. It has served me well for the time that I've had it and appears to be reliable and accurate. I only have trouble with the power button. It is a bit stiff and takes some effort turning it on and off.

Title: Great Thermometer for USDA Plant
Review: Pretty sure I'm not the only one looking for a thermometer suitable for FDA & USDA plants, but I've used this brand for several years and it's been extremely accurate for me (+/- 0.1F). I bought some other brand thermometers off of amazon to try it out and it turns out that its variance is greater than this one (0.4 to 0.7F). Buy this for your plant, get it NIST calibrated and certified and buy a couple more thermometers for your QCs to use. It's a great product and I'll be buying more in the future.

Title: Accurate with decent features
Review: I bought this to do my weekly water temperature tests and for duct temperature testing. I have zero complaints, it's fast, accurate, and has a decent battery life. The price is hard to beat. Fits in a standard work shirt pocket with a clip that keeps it there.

Title: Great culinary thermometer for industrial and commercial kitchen and bakery use
Review: I just wanted to say that Taylor is my go-to brand for culinary waterproof compact digital thermometer whenever I use it in an industrial or commercial kitchen. The buttons and interface were easy to understand, and the reading is so accurate and clear. One of my production leads asked where I got it, and said from Amazon. He knew the thermometer that we're using were crappy because it only had 2 options "D" and "F". But anyway this is a better substitute for a compact waterproof digital thermometer.

Review: Tested in ice water, it showed a temperature of 0.6 degrees Celsius instead of the standard 0 degrees Celsius. For a thermometer, this is unusable.
