Title: A Must For Anyone Wanting To Improve Their Digital Photography
Review: I'm a serious, motivated, nonprofessional photographer who spends much of his free time photographing and developing digital images. This is the first of many technical photography books that I've purchased that I actually read from cover to cover. It's extremely well organized and written so that the technically challenged newcomer as well as the experienced user will enjoy and benefit from reading it. I've used Lightroom and Photoshop for over 4 years, taken multiple classes and tutoring sessions about postproduction and this book is by far the best reference and guide I've encountered.Mark has done a superb job creating an easy to read book about Lightroom's essential Library and Development modules. He emphasizes good workflow and organizational skills and provides excellent advice in the "Notes" and "Caution" captions. The chapters about other Lightroom modules and plug-in programs are also very informational and well done.I particularly enjoyed and benefited from reading and studying the chapters about how to use and integrate Photoshop selection tools, layers, masking, and retouching into Lightroom's Developing module to harness the power of Photoshop. I've found Photoshop complicated with non-intuitive, long workflows that are difficult if not impossible to remember unless used daily. This book provides a structure for using specific tools for jobs not possible in Lightroom. This book is a real bargain!

Title: Great book for novice Lightroom users
Review: I had a basic understanding of how to use Lightroom and Photoshop Elements but being a little older I struggle with computers and how to set up programs so they work well together. This book is laid out better than any book I own or have read and gets into all the things that you have to do to make these programs work together flawlessly. It is illustrated extremely well and every time Fitzgerald introduces a new concept he breaks it down step by step and tells you why. In addition it is written in layman language so it is easy to very understand and if logically laid out. Many books tell you that after you go a "specific menu" and you need to do x,y,z. However these authors are obviously not teachers as they assume that everyone will just know where to find the "specific menu". Fitzgerald does not skip this step. When he tells you to how to do something he doesn't assume anything. This is the book that I have long looked for and I now keep it by my computer as a ready resource. I highly recommend it without reservation as it is the best book that I have on this subject.

Title: Mark is an excellent teacher of a subject that is not easy
Review: Mark is an excellent teacher of a subject that is not easy! He has mastered the nuances of Lightroom and Photoshop and developed the skills with which to help others learn how to most effectively use these wonderful digital photography tools. Whether in a classroom setting, one on one instruction or in his book, Mark has a unique manner that helps his students wonder why it seemed so difficult before! This book adds to his earlier book on earlier versions of LR and PS. Everything is exceptionally well and clearly explained with excellent illustrations and examples. Mark is also and excellent photographer. He has inspired me to take my photography in different directions and to higher levels. I hope you get as much out of his book(s) as I have!!

Title: A very useful book that even an accomplished photographer can find something ...
Review: A very useful book that even an accomplished photographer can find something useful in it. The book, however, has no relation to Zen whatsoever. .And, unfortunately, I have the habit of breaking the spine of a book so that it will lay flat and is also more easily handles. The binding of this book, however, is such that the book has separated into loose sections that are no longer connected other. So, be it. That said, it is a worthy book for all photographers who spend time doing post-processing.

Title: The perfect book for learning Lightroom
Review: I've used Aperture to store and edit my images for a long time. For years all my photographer friends were telling me to get on the "Lightroom wagon." I began that process a few months ago by attending a Lightroom workshop put on by Mark. The workshop was a great start but I wanted more in depth instruction. That problem was solved by purchasing this book. It's really not a book, it's more like several workshops combined that will make you very comfortable with the software. I highly recommend this book!

Review: Phenomenal. Fitzgerald has laid out in precise linear fashion a way to fully comprehend and implement the power of Lightroom. Steeped in detail, he shares all the tricks of the trade and makes it accessible for the average photographer or even the beginner, and yet it is rich enough to augment any professional's tool kit. You can open up to any section and get up to speed with ease. This book is always within reach of my digital darkroom and continually proves an invaluable resource.

Title: I can finally find the pictures I was looking for.
Review: This book has helped me get my thousands of pictures organized. Mark Fitzgerald clearly explains how to use Adobe Lightroom and it's most powerful features with tips along the way. The biggest most frustrating challenge for me since I transitioned to digital photography has been workflow. Now from the moment I import the pictures from my camera I apply Mark's recommended way of using Lightroom's organization tools. Thank you Mark. You have saved me countless hours of time spent looking for images and I have only read the first five chapters.
