Title: Better than Google and Others
Review: Update September 24th. The camera's were active on August 26th and my most active one out front is still at 66% battery. Very impressive. Notifications and all around performance are great!I'm a tech geek and try just about everything for every type of technology. I've tried most of the outdoor wireless camera's and these are tops. The picture quality is great. If you don't want to pay a monthly subscription, they have a MicroSD slot to capture your video's and images. The app is very user friendly and the options are through the roof. The battery life is at least 2x of the Google Outdoor Wireless cameras. What's amazing is the price is much less than the well known brands. If there was 1 thing I had to gripe about, it's the MicroUSB port for charging. Would prefer USB C, but not a showstopper.Somewhat unrelated, I checked to see if they have smart light bulbs, in which they did. I replaced my outdoor garage lights and they work within the same app as the camera and easy to program on and off times. I'm going to put one above our front door as well.I also installed the Doorbell and works great! No, it's not pretty like the Google and others but the overall quality is top notch and again, the price you cannot beat.TP-Link Tapo has really done their homework and I'm going to continue to apply their products inside and outside of my home.Don't let the lower cost fool you!

Title: Nice features and alerts.
Review: Camera setup was easy and has some nice features like an option to use WiFi or Ethernet, geofencing, being able to alert you to specific occurrences such as a car detected, person detected, animal detected, and if someone crosses a defined area or line. It has an alarm, although not very loud but enough to let someone near it know they’re being recorded. There are also 2 LED lights for recording, but it’s not something that will light up anything (like the ground), even when set to 100% brightness, but is intended to enhance the video quality. I turned it off so it’s not obvious when it detects motion and is actively recording. You can also turn off the LED status light so it doesn’t call attention to it as much. The thing I don’t like is that the inside of the lens sometimes “fogs up”, even when mounted indoors, making it impossible to identify anything. It tends to clear up if I turn the camera off for a few minutes. Other times, in daylight when the lens isn’t foggy, the video isn’t bad. I have concerns it will get extra foggy should it be humid, cold, or raining.Overall it has nice features, but poor video (or perhaps this one is defective). I set the video resolution to the max of 2K and also tried HDR mode for increased clarity, so this was as good as it gets. Even at that, after dark with outside lights on, it’s impossible to identify someone 7’ below where the camera is mounted.UPDATE: The video has been clear after that first day or so. I’m thinking some moisture had gotten in and it just had to burn off in the sun. I added another photo of someone about 25’ out with a leaf blower, and the quality is pretty good. I would definitely recommend.

Title: Wireless Camera Works Well with Solar Panel
Review: I have several Tapo cameras inside. This was the first Tapo for outside. I bought the wire free version, model c425.I do not pay for the cloud subscription. My inside cameras have a 256 GB microSD card. They are set to continuously record and get about 30 days of recordings before it starts overriding the oldest recording. For this outdoor camera I used a 512 MicroSD card. This was overkill. The wire-free camera does not allow for continuous recording. Most likely to save battery. It only records when it detects motion. This has the same problem as all cameras that only record when they detect motion. It misses the first first few seconds of the activity. Because of how this camera's hanging it has a long, wide view and it's not that big of a deal. But with most doorbell cameras by the time it starts recording, the person is right next to your door and all you get to see is their belt buckle. The color night vision is outstanding. I am happy with the clarity and features offered by the camera.I bought this bundled with the separate solar panel. They have a newer model of this camera that has the solar panel built in. I prefer the separate solar panel. It allowed me to hang the camera where I wanted but put the solar panel around the corner out of view.I went through the settings and did not choose any of the options that helped save battery. It's recording at the highest quality with color night vision but the solar panel is still able to keep the battery fully charged. It is never dropped below 96%. It is currently the middle of summer though. But we have had a few rainy days.I had a little bit of trouble getting it to connect to my Pixel 6 Pro phone. This is more of a problem with Android than it is this camera. The "Camera Detected" overlay that should have popped up from the bottom of the screen never popped up from the bottom of the screen. But I did eventually find it inside the Bluetooth settings of my phone.Overall, very happy with this camera and the solar panel.

Review: This is a great camera! Super easy to set up, install and use. It comes with 30 days free of cloud storage and the paid storage is very fairly priced. You can get cloud storage for one or multiple cameras so you don’t over pay if you only have the one and save if you have multiple. There are also 7 and 30 day plans for the storage so you can pick the length of storage they’re I’ll keep and have the option to download footage directly from the app.It has auto updates feature and you can choose the time of day or night for it to do so.It has a slot for local storage but the cloud is much more convenient (unlimited).Person detection works flawlessly, and the movement detection works even too good (it picked up a bug flying 5-6ft from the camera, picks up light changes- car headlights and you can hear a lot)The best feature that sold me on this thing besides the price was the option to talk to whomever was at the door. It is a two way radio.I have not had any problems so far with this guy, other than the fact that I had to lengthen the cable as it did not reach to the outlet I wanted to use, but you can also use an extension cable instead of being extra like me 😂
