We use nothing but natural elements and precious wood material. The surface is impregnated with a natural antiseptic, making it safe for your family to use.

Easy-to-use & handy

Put the frame of Makimaker in the appropriate place and begin the process. Fill the inner cavity of the device with rice. Do not thicken and press the rice, it should be loose. For the filling, form a V-groove in rice using a flat wooden spatula. Half of a nori sheet should be positioned over the frame and along the middle.

Take the lid of Makimaker and put the narrow part into the frame, gently cover the dent in the rice together with nori seaweed, short of 5-6 mm to the frame. Remove the lid and a neat square groove is created. This is where we start to lay the filling, which is the final and most creative moment. Fill in the groove with ingredients (see recipes or at request). Moisten the nori strip, the one protruding from the rice, with water and seal.

To prepare uramaki, place one more top layer of rice, and carefully flatten the edges of the frame. The rice should completely cover the nori. Turning the frame, we can see that a small portion of rice is squeezed out of the gap. Flatten this rice to the edges of the frame as well. Moisten the wide side of the lid with water, set on top of the rice, and then press.

Holding the lid with your thumbs, gently pick up the Makimaker frame. Move it upwards then take it out completely. Carefully remove the lid from the formed roll. Optionally, you can roll the finished roll in flying fish roe or sesame seeds. Cut the roll into 6 or 8 pieces and place them on a flat dish. Serve with ginger, soy sauce, wasabi, and enjoy!

Review: Higher quality than the plastic ones. I got this as a gift because I love sushi. My dad makes it all the time and well now I have the ability to as well. I as really happy to get the bonus recipes because some of them my dad didn't even know how to make. This product is easy to use, quick to clean up and fun in the kitchen.

Title: Highly recommend
Review: My son likes maki rolls so I thought this would be something fun we can experiment with in the kitchen. I was attracted to this one because it’s wooden and well constructed. Many maki makers are plastic. It was quite easy to use. Make sure you use the real sushi rice, not regular rice. We started out with cooked shrimp in some spicy mayo and scallions. I wasn’t confident enough to make rolls with raw fish until I had tried it successfully. We got the ingredients: shrimp, spicy mayo, cucumbers, avocado, nori, sushi rice (cooked, cooled and mixed with rice wine vinegar, a little oil, salt and sugar) and followed the instructions. They came out great and my 11 year old was able to make futomaki (nori on the outside) rolls with ease. The rice on the outside is a bit harder but only if you use too much rice. I highly recommend this roll maker!

Review: Proud to say I am progressing on my project to learn to make sushi at home. So, many beautiful, easy to use cookbooks out there now. There’s no excuse not to take the plunge from merely buying cookbooks (not judging!) to actually using them! There are lots of gadgets out there to help in creating exquisite sushi! This is a very sweet, well-made little gizmo that shapes the sushi rice so you can dust them with poppy seeds, or lay a very nice nice piece of fresh salmon across the top. Title: Surprisingly Easy
Review: I used this kit to make sushi for the first time. It turned out great! The instructions are easy to follow, but it also helped to watch some videos prior to using it. It didn't take long to get the hang of it, and it was fun to use. The most important step is to soak the Maki Maker in cold water first to prevent the rice from sticking to it. The Maki Maker is well made and seems like it will last for a long time. I'm very happy with this purchase.
