She's looking for the perfect man. He's looking for the perfect victim.
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot.
Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet.
Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.
Sydney should feel safe. After all, she is dating the guy of her dreams. But she can’t shake her own suspicions that the perfect man may not be as perfect as he seems. Because someone is watching her every move, and if she doesn’t get to the truth, she’ll be the killer’s next victim...

Title: Finally my new favorite!
Review: Sydney Shaw is looking for the perfect man but may have found the perfect victim instead. She is dating a charming doctor but becomes suspicious when a series of murders occur, with the victims all having dated their killer. Sydney is unsure if her boyfriend is as perfect as he seems and fears she may be the next target.Ah, finally! This is exactly what I've been waiting for. The latest books were okay, but I'm still not entirely sure who wrote them. However, this book is more like the Freida we all know and love! The pace of this book was incredibly fast paced, making it easy to binge read with some serious twists and turns. By about 60% of the way through, I thought I had it all figured out! But, as typical of Freida, she leads you to believe you know what's going on, only to hit you with a whole new unexpected twist. I don't want to give too much away, but trust me, you will love this book! Especially if you enjoyed Freida's older works, as this may become your new favorite.Don't walk, run to get your hands on this book! It's perfect for the holiday season - dark, suspenseful, and impossible to put down. I devoured this book in half a day, and I am confident it is now my new favorite from my favorite author. I hope you love it as much as I do.Enjoy!

Title: This book was just what I needed in a psychological thriller
Review: The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is a fast-paced, twisty psychological thriller that pulls readers into a web of secrets, deception, and manipulation. McFadden is known for her ability to weave suspense and surprise into her narratives, and this book is no exception. The story keeps readers on edge, delivering unexpected twists that challenge everything you think you know about the characters and their motivations. One of the strengths of The Boyfriend is its pacing. McFadden keeps the story moving at a breakneck speed, with short chapters that make the book easy to binge-read. Each chapter ends with a small cliffhanger, urging readers to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. The suspense builds steadily, and just when you think youâve figured it out, McFadden throws in a twist that changes everything.McFadden excels at misdirection, keeping readers guessing until the very end. The final twist is sure to surprise many and leaves you questioning how much of what you thought was true. Itâs the kind of ending that will leave you wanting to go back and re-read earlier chapters to see the clues you missed. In conclusion, The Boyfriend is a gripping psychological thriller that plays with themes of trust, deception, and the masks people wear in relationships. With its fast pace, clever twists, and an ever-increasing sense of paranoia, itâs a perfect read for fans of suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thrillers. While the characters may not be as deeply explored as in other thrillers, the novel more than makes up for it with its gripping plot and shocking revelations.

Title: Another hit for McFadden!
Review: I have seen some great reviews for this book and some not so good ones, but I really enjoyed this book! Sydney has bad luck dating in New York City and she uses a dating app called Cynch. She goes on a terrible date and needs to be saved by a mystery man. Months later, she runs into mystery man again, and heâs perfect for her. Mystery man is a doctor; heâs smart and sweet, a true gentleman. There is a brutal murder of one of Sydneyâs friends, and she learns that itâs a serial killer. She starts to notice things about her boyfriend that seem suspicious. Will Sydney be the next victim?I thought McFadden hit it out of the park with this book! When the book started with the two different points of view in the two different time periods, I was already trying to make the connection of how they were going to come together. And I correctly put that together. However, there were a few major twists that I didnât see coming at all. Maybe I donât pick up clues well, or maybe Iâm just not that astute, but I am never to pick out the twists that others seem to think are predictable.I loved the darker storyline in this book, but I have been finding myself starting to read books with a little bit of darker storylines this year. The epilogue was fantastic, I didnât see that coming either, but I liked it!!! I canât say more than that because I donât want to give anything away!!!!Those that enjoy McFaddenâs books will not be disappointed!

Review: Loved the book. It hit the right mixture of keeping you guessing until the 3/4th mark, then rewarding those who guessed correctly with the right reveal instead of senseless stuff. Finished it in a day. Pick this up if you want your day swallowed away while having a great time!

Review: An amazing story, great characters, so well written - I was hooked from the beginning. I almost sort of guessed the end but not quite, Ms McFadden is too clever to give everything away. I totally recommend.

Review: As usual another amazing book by this author. Hasnât topped The Teacher for me but had come straight to number 2 in my favourite books by her. I canât get enough of her work. The story intrigued me from the start. Didnât guess the twist even though I almost always usually do. Iâm late to this author and am kinda glad as I have plenty of books to get through while waiting for her next!
