Title: For older cooks, and new cooks. Quick and Easy recipes.
Review: This cookbook was purchased as a replacement for a Version 1 cookbook of this version. The original was a paperback that has started falling apart. After all the original is more than 40 years old. This version is SO Close to the original that it prompted this review. While several of the recipes are updated for newer dietary requirements, those notations are not taking away the good things about this cookbook. This cookbook is constructed in a way that allows us to take it to the store which makes shopping for specific recipes easier. Non or the contact in the original cookbook are NO LONGER valid. That is another benefit of finding this cookbook. Want a good starter cookbook?, this is the cookbook for you. This is great for beginners and expert cookers. It has old recipes in a new wrapper. The old recipes are full of the things some of us like best.

Title: Book's condition was much better than described.
Review: It's always tricky buying a used book online. How accurate is the Seller's description of the book's condition? Books are important to me, and I care about the book's condition. I purchased this book from the Manheim Township Public Library which described the book as Very Good. To me, this book's condition was Perfect and Like New. For a rewarding book buying experience, buy a book from a library. Who knows? You may help the library and you will receive a book in better condition than you expect. I imagine that most of the people working at the library know and love books. The ones at Manheim Township Public Library certainly do. Thank you for the book.

Title: Mississippi girls know how to cook!!
Review: I grew up in Mississippi and have since traveled and lived all over the world. Trust me, unless you are a total foodie (heck, even if you are- I am and I STILL like these recipes) you will adore this cookbook. If you are trying to master regional southern cookery this is a WONDERFUL place to start. Real recipes from real people- this is the everyday food of Mississippi. If you want some of the more refined food order this (because it's great) but also order Southern Sideboards from the Junior League of Jackson, Mississippi. Together they make a wonderful set as a gift!

Title: Very nice book but I would not regard it the best ...
Review: Very nice book but I would not regard it the best of the Bell series. I guess "best" is a matter of opinion and one's taste. I am still glad I bought it and would not discourage anyone from buying it. Recipes are clearly presented, easy to follow and easy to prepare.

Title: LOVE this cookbook
Review: I have so many cookbooks but this one is food I grew up on. There are several Bells Best (3) and this one captures the most requested recipes from the 3.

Title: Deja vu of Paula Deen
Review: Mostly recipes from the sixties & seventies & Paula Deen & those folks. Lots of butter, congealed salads, stuff you ate at Church socials & pot lucks. Good recipes to bring out for the stepped up visiting during holidays & football. Most of us are eating healthier these days, but once in a while, a dish or two from this book will be a treat.I would have listed some of the recipes, but unfortunately someone ripped off my copy out of my grocery basket while shopping. Will order another one if I can find it.Worth buying if you like nostalgia type recipes.

Title: Recipe Roundup
Review: Our old Bell Pioneer cookbooks were so ragged we decided to order a new one. This cookbook has a wide range of recipes, many with a Southern flavor. We especially like the spiral binding that allows the book to stay flat and open for reference while cooking. The print is easy to read and for the most part ingredients and instructions are clearly stated and easy to understand. I'm cooking my way through this cookbook right now and have yet to try a recipe that hasn't been good.

Review: My mom and I have the bellsouth cookbooks and use them all the time. This year I ordered one for my daughter in law in order to have he love them too.
