Title: Cheap without even basic standard features (returned)
Review: This was purchased to replace a 10-year old Craftsman garage door opener that still works, but is nearly worn out.Likes:It arrived 1 day after ordering on Amazon.The box appeared in good condition on the outside.The box was not previously opened.Dislikes:The main motor unit was cosmetically damaged. It's as if someone dragged it across a work surface before packing it and didn't care that it was scraped up. This was a minor issue.The opener is clearly advertised as having a light. It even has a big black square with white markings showing a picture of a light and the words "LIGHT". HOWEVER...you cannot turn the light on from the wall control in the garage. It's a simple on/off switch so to turn on the light you'd have to open and close the garage. That's absurd. Absolutely nuts that it wouldn't have at the least a rocker switch for one way being activating the motor and the other way for turning on the light.Returned immediately upon reading the installation manual after opening the box and seeing that the control was only for operating the motor with no independent light control.My guess is it's intentionally made this way (and they probably don't sell many of them as the Amazon order review page noted this item didn't have many reviews) to force you into a more expensive "smart" garage door opener.Guess I'll just keep adjusting my current Craftsman unit until it's non-operational. Extremely disappointed that this is even a thing.

Title: defective unit
Review: I had installed an identical unit a couple years ago so was familiar with the process and after installing this one from amazon I couldn't get the motor to engage at all. The error code showed bad logic board (control panel?) I went online and researched everything I could to see if there was a remedy with no luck. Contacted amazon hoping they might have a contractor to check it out and told them I would pay for the service call if the problem was with the install but they evidently don't have that service and said I would have to return the unit. I didn't want to wait a week for them to ship another one so I went to Lowe's and bought the same unit, installed it and it works perfectly. I returned the defective unit to amazon and the next day got an email from them, not apologizing for my inconvenience but advising me that my returns are being scrutinized. I replied that this is totally unfair and got a response that essentially repeated the first email.
