Title: Works just as it should. No problems.
Review: Easy to assemble, and easy to mount to a 4x4. Very sturdy. Had no problems with the feed hose spinning with the reel. A few drops of oil on the locking pin every year keeps the seized pin problems away. Just make normal maintenance and all will be fine. Have two lengths of 5/8" heavy duty 75 foot hose on it and it fits just fine. Might hold less if you have 3/4 inch hose, but 5/8 is the common home owner size.

Title: Great reach & maneuverability
Review: Like a lot of folks, I put this together without reading the instructions first. (Yes, excited! Yes, impatient!) I was not able to attach it easily to the brick or mortar on the side of the house -- maybe my inexperience with Tapcon screws; but then I mounted it on a 4 x 4 post I sank in concrete. Once I read ALL the instructions and saw that the pin holding the reel to the carriage was necessary, it worked fine, reeling in and out without wobbling. Very smooth winding and unwinding. The little storage basket stays out of the way better when I mount it on the house, not the reel. But I have no complaints about the product. Excellent and sturdy, and it lets me get at front and back yards easily.

Title: Awesome quality and look
Review: This reel is just so much better than the plastic junk you that they sell in the big box stores. The reel swivels so you can pull the hose in any direction without it getting stuck or caught up. The handle for the reel is good quality and easy to use. It has a very nice, smooth reeling mechanism. The hose and hose coupling are also very good quality to it works well. I'll be buying another for the other side of the house.

Review: I purchased this product for 111.67 pretax in the month of Oct. 2019. This item fluctuates in price from 100.00 with a 10.00 coupon applied to 148.00 at it's high point. If you could wait and have patience you could buy this close to 100.00 which I believe is the right price point for this item in quality.I had no problem putting this item together and installing it, but I am very handy.I noticed that people complained about rust. I had a similar problem, but what I do is I get a oil penetration spray with it's straw attached and lightly spray the welds and wipe the excess. The instructions mention rust at the end and how to maintain the product, but that's what I do. Any excess lube on the rag I wipe it on the rust spots and they don't come back. It is similar to getting foil and cleaning rust spots off of chrome. It's maintenance.Now the issue I have with this product is on the first time I used it, the brass swivel shot out of the housing. There lies the poor quality control. The person in CHINA who assembled it did not tighten the brass fitting enough. If this happens to you, make sure you find the little black gasket that shoots out too. If you don'd find it, it is either in the housing or on your grass. That piece is important. If you don't have it in the housing where the brass fitting is screwed into the housing it will LEAK. I found that piece in the grass a week later. The way I stopped it from leaking was more Teflon tape than usual and not to over tighten. Once I found that piece, the washer, I did not need as much Teflon tape and I could tighten the brass fitting more so it wont shoot out.So my point is after installing it and before turning it on, make sure the brass fitting is tightened correctly.If you have water leaking from the brass fitting I would first tighten the brass fitting into the housing. The brass fitting has six sides for a wrench to tighten it up. The brass fitting could leak from the housing or the o-rings. The manual mentions leaky o-rings and waiting for it to seal, but most likely its coming from the housing.THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU PAY FOR IT.Besides the hair pulling situation this is perfect for our situation, because the backyard wraps around the garage and this makes hand watering easier.MAKE SURE THE BRASS FITTING IS TIGHTENED INTO THE HOUSING.If the brass fitting situation did not happen, I would have scored it a 5.

Title: Manual or Automatic Hose Reel? Pros and Cons of Both.
Review: First off, i love this hose reel.It’s well built, well finished and easy to use.The question for some maybe whether to buy a manual or auto-retract hose reel.I’ve had both and can tell you that the automatic hose reels come with a lot of issues.I thought that the auto reel would make my live easier.I discovered just the contrary.Pulling the hose out, with the spring pulling back on you, is no fun.Then you have to “fish” for the spot where the reel latches to prevent it from rewinding.It was a PIA every time I used it.Occasionally it would unlatch at the most inopportune time and result in a tug-o-war with it.On the other hand, the manual reel is effortless to extend.I just walk normally and the hose follows.It’s actually less effort than when the hose is just lying on the ground.I have a 75” steel hose on it and it barely fills up half of the reel.Rewinding it with the crank is equally as easy.It is a LOT LESS work than fighting the auto reel to extend.Now for the best part.On the auto hose reel you CANNOT replace the hose when it goes bad.Mine began to delaminate after a little over a year.I tried to replace it, but found that it had crimp on fittings that attached the hose.I was able to work around that, but fighting with the giant spring inside was like wrestling with an octopus.It became obvious that the factory had specialized tools that made the original assembly much easier.I solved the problem by throwing the whole thing in the trash an buying a manual hose reel.I recommend that you do the same.

Review: When I ordered this I did not expect anything this nice. It not only is aesthetically pleasing, but it is very very well made. This company did not skimp on parts.If for some reason it begins to leak you can replace the o rings, the swivel works great, they send a couple of tools to help put it together. It works very smooth and mounts really well. There's even a screw to adjust for backlash. They have thought of just about everything

Jag är nästan helt nöjd med köpet.Nackdelar med produkten: Jag beställde den till Sverige, och i Sverige har vi annan standard i rörsystemet och det matchar inte amerikansk. Det är ett riktig dyrt problem att leta rätt på US standard här i Sverige som kan kosta 20-40 Euro att köpa rätt rörkopplingar. Det skulle inte vara dyrare än 1-3 Euro/ 1-3 $ att skicka med de två rätta snabbkopplingarna till ändpunkterna så att produkten skulle bli internationellt problemfri. Att sälja den för några euro dyrare skulle vara värt och spara stora besvär för kunden överallt.I helhet är jag jätte nöjd med själva produkten. På hjulet där slangen ska kopplas på behövs lite försiktig modifiering för att kunna skruva på en snabbkoppling för slangen som kan vara för säljföretaget att ha i åtanke när de designar men annars bra och robust i helhet.Tre skruvar i en led kan vara bra om man skulle skruva denna produkt på stolpe men jag själv är bland de som installerar produkten på vägg och skulle fördragit 6-8 skruvhål för stabilare montering.Produkten få 4 av 5 för att jag gick igenom stor besvär för att få tag på rätt koppling i Sverige och egentligen tycker jag att antingen skulle den levererats med rätt standard eller rätta extra kopplingar som är EU anpassad.Det tog också riktig lång till för leveransen men priset var rätt.

Review: The main issue is the plastic ones are getting cheaper every time I bought one......they are now at the point of falling apart too frequently. This unit has a proper brass swivel that is sealed with o-rings...these are easily replaced to restore the function back to normal operation.The unit has a nice oversized handle and it cranks very easily. It is great that the reel can be placed in various positions, which makes it easy to crank in the hose.I decided based on a few reviews to disassemble the unit and re-greased the pivot bearing with waterproof grease and I also re-greased the hose pivot fitting with a synthetic water proof grease. Because my installation is not out in the open where it can be rained on, I believe this unit will last many years.It is very sturdy and I think that it will go the distance!!!Beats the plastic ones hands down!!!!
