Title: Works on Sportsman 4000 LP model
Review: I have the Sportsman 4000 LP model (not dual fuel). It’s rated at 4000 peak / 3250 continuous. The original AVR only gave me a few hours runtime and died. This is an exact replacement for the aluminum cased half-moon shape of the original. Very easy to replace. Positive wire is marked, just like original. Came with new brushes, but my old ones looked good so I left those.Out of the box it wanted to run at 126V.I connected my meter and adjusted it down to 120V with no load by turning the small screw. With a full 12Amp load, it runs at 119V. Seems to be very good and half the price of getting one from Buffalo Tools (the makers of Sportsman). If it dies I will come back and update this review.

Title: Easily to install
Review: Had my Harbor Freight 4300 watt generator for about 4 yrs with little use but had been very dependable until I kept blowing the GFI, well after some searching I took a chance & ordered this voltage regulator. Easy to install & it works PERFECTLY, great product.

Title: AVR adjustment
Review: The AVR that I received had been factory set at 107 VAC and will require adjustment for 115 VAC. This is not a problem but you will have to look up the specifications for this product by the part number ordered to find out how to complete the adjustment.

Title: Worked for ONE day and then almost destroyed generator
Review: I received this AVR yesterday and had it put in. It ran from about 5-9 PM yesterday with no visible problems. I went to start the generator at 10 AM today. It ran for 10 minutes then suddenly shut off power. I went to investigate and found that not only had this connection burned through (at HALF LOAD), but it had started to burn other components around it before the safety feature kicked in and shut it down. I'm lucky it didn't destroy my generator completely or start a fire in this drought.
