With no oil filter on most small gas engines, small particles are circulating in the engine as it runs. That's not good for bearings, rings, etc.
This is a well formed magnet tipped dipstick. Every internal combustion should have such a device. Taking fragments of iron or steel from the oil prevents them scratching and abrading all internal moving parts and will make the motor last longer and run stronger.
High quality . Threads are smooth and fit perfectly. Strong magnetic pull catches smallest particles.
Note:Since the dipstick is metal, it will get quite hot, so wear some gloves if you're changing or checking oil after she's been running a bit.

Title: perfect fit
Review: A perfect replacement for the flimsy plastic dipstick that came with my Champion 4500 watt inverter generator. Nicely machined 18 X 2.5 mm thread, and the dipstick portion was exactly the same length as the OEM part. I installed it before running the 5-hour break-in period. It did its job, and the magnet collected some fine metal swarf. Great value.

Review: Has worked like a charm in my Westinghouse iGen2550DFc Inverter Generator. I appreciate the ease of use and the fact that it seems to do a good job collecting the small metal shavings in the oil inherent to these small chinese engines... a must have for breaking a generator in properly. I miss having an oil level gage on it, but oil gets filled until the threads, so that's my working visual. I have also kept the plastic dipstick that came with it for checking as I fill as well... not a deal breaker at all.

Review: I took a chance on this fitting a new Northern Tool Powerhorse 2300i generator, even though it's not listed. It did fit fine, I like the magnet since there's no oil filter.I gave it four stars instead of five because there were a lot of metal shavings in the threads, I would suggest giving the threads a good scrubbing with a wire brush prior to installing it. The last thing you want is to put these metal shavings in your oil/crankcase.
