Review: As a collector of cookbooks I found this one to be a great addition to my collection. Easy recipes and items you would probably have on hand. Alternatives to the recipe if you want to do something a little different.

Title: much easier, quicker, recipes then other books like this
Review: I really like this book. I've tried about 7 recipes so far and most were excellent to good with only one being something I didn't like.I also got other books like this, including the big name one, Cake Dr. I MUCH prefer this one over that one. These recipes are quick and easy and most take one pan and a small list of ingredients. If you look at the actual recipes in the other books you'll see many ingredients, many steps, many pans. In the other book, the using a cake mix doesn't save you that much time/energy. Here it's the star.

Title: Cookbooks for a new 14 year old cook
Review: I bought these cookbooks for a 14 year old young man that I am mentoring in the Big Brother program. Every young man needs to know how to cook before they leave their Mom's home. You can only eat at McDonald's so many times. Easy recipes with simple ingredients, with clear instruction on how to make each recipe

Review: Yes you can go online for recipes. But this book is one of those must cookbook. I have had mine for many years, and love it. I purchases tha copy for my greens daughter. The recipes are very good and easy to make. Highly recommend!

Title: Not a bad little book.
Review: Got some interesting recipes. I'm glad I purchased it. I paid $8.99. It's the 2002 edition and originally cost $9.99. I just received it, therefore, I haven't tried any recipes, but since boxed cake mix sizes have gotten smaller since this was published, I imagine, I'll have to compensate for that when using a recipe from this book. But that won't deter me.

Title: Fun book but same difference
Review: This is a fun book for anyone who enjoys baking, and it has some nice ideas for cakes that go beyond the directions on the cakemix packet. I wouldn't call it 101 things to do, though, as there are too many recipes that are almost identical to each other, with only a minor difference in ingredients. Also, quite a few of the recipes simply say to bake a cake according to the packet instructions, then use a different flavour of pudding to pour over it, or frosting to decorate it. There are a few good ideas for baking cookies and bars, but again with similarities to each other.On the whole, a nice baking book, but maybe someone could come up with 101 different ideas.

Title: Absolutely love this little cookbook!
Review: I was a cake decorator for seven years,so decorating and baking cakes is one of my favorite things to do! I absolutely love this book. The recipes are easy.The indegredients lists arent long, and it really puts a fun twist on using box cake mixes. I never realized how many various desserts could be made with a simple box cake! I am very happy with this purchase, and will be purchasing the others.

Review: Very ho-hum book. Quite disappointing. Good for someone who rarely bakes and when they do, rely on a cake mix (nothing wrong with that!) but want to jazz it up a bit. I have a few of these "101 Things...." books and this one is a dud. Off to the second hand shop it goes!
