She longs to be the perfect mother.
He just longs for his wife.
Until they receive ... the best gift of all.
Everyone knows Lizzie and John Brady have the perfect marriage. But when Lizzie’s desire to be a good mother eclipses her desire for her husband, the honeymoon is definitely over. Can the spirit of Christmas heal their hearts when Lizzie gives John the best gift of all?

Title: Short, Sweet, with a Meaningful Message on Marriage
Review: I love the O'Connor family and was excited to visit them again in this short but sweet Christmas novella. This book carried an important reminder for healthy marriages; God first, spouse second, and kids third. It is amazing how well life works when kept in that order, mostly because it is God's design and He knows what He is doing! I wish there had been even more dialogue between Lizzie and Brady about this and how they could help support each other more in their God given roles, but that is the marriage advocate in me! All in all, a good read with a an even better message. (And if this is your first introduction to the O'Connor family, you should really get caught up with the wonderful series beginning with book one, A Passion Most Pure!)

Title: A family that honors God can make it through anything!!
Review: I loved the story of forgiveness and a marriage redeemed by.God's love. Lizzie and John Brady after ten years of marriage find their passion waning. They have three small children and one on the way and Lizzie spends most of her time and energy on the children. Charity is quick to spot the problem but Faith prayerfully leads Lizzy to see that God wants to be first, then John, then the kids. They have a HEA and a.merry Christmas for all the O'Connor family.

Title: Love this family!
Review: I was so glad to revisit this sweet family. Lizzie learned a lesson I think all young mothers struggle to learn and wish Iâd read this many years ago! But in general, just a sweet, enjoyable book to read.

Title: Love in its purest form!
Review: Julie captured perfectly God's perfect design and alignment for the family. From page one you are caught up in the love story of Lizzie and John Brady and the exciting O'Connor family. This book is written with the same sizzle, love and excitement she writes into every book. Love it and highly recommend it! You won't be able to put it down.

Title: Give Me More!!!
Review: I can't believe it! I'm done :(...I want more! Thank goodness for the awesome Julie Lessman's O'Conner family book series 'The Daughters of Boston' and 'Winds of Change.' The characters in 'The Best Gift of All' are dynamic and interesting. I was drawn into this novella (which really feels like a novel with all of the drama and romance and twists) from the very first page. The perfect Christmas novella!PS. for those looking for the most amazing Christmas (or anytime) novel ever, I HIGHLY recommend 'A Light in the Window,' Julie's prequel novel to the 'Daughters of Boston' series. It's easily one of my favorite novels of all time and I love to read.

Title: great Christmas story!
Review: This story encourages couples to remember to give their marriage relationship priority above everyone/thing else besides God. Love the characters, and the inner conflict of and misunderstandings between the husband and wife are well within the bound of realistic and believable. Why only 4 stars: I've developed a pet peeve over characters who talk like psychologists/theologians/etc. giving a lecture. It takes away some of the realism of the story, and happens a couple of times in this book.Beyond that, I still would recommend the novella for anyone who enjoys sweet Christmas stories, and in this case, historical fiction ones.

Review: I enjoyed this book, especially since I felt the marital tension was very real. Lizzie and Bradyâs challenges were so relatable, things many parents have faced. But as for the resolution? I wish my marriage issues cleaned up so fast as a quick chat and epic love making ð itâs a nice thought but issues like these take week if not months of dedicated communication and the intentional choice to love. However, if you view it as a âreally REALLY nice first stepâ towards the healing that would need to happen, itâs quite a heartwarming story 😉
