Title: A cute little book
Review: This was a nice little purchase for myself because I love gingerbread. Itâs full of great pictures with all of the recipes. Today I made the Lebkuchen and not only was it easy but they tasted just like Iâve had them at some Christmas markets. I plan on making the gingerbread syrup and the mini mug houses next.

Title: Fantastic little book
Review: Fantastic little book! The recipes are tasty. The decorating ideas are fun and not difficult to reproduce. My mother's recipes and cutouts for gingerbread sleighs disappeared years ago, so this book is a nice replacement. Love the pictures and love that the examples are more what a home baked version of gingerbread reindeer and houses would look like.

Title: Beautiful Book & much more than houses.
Review: Was looking for a book of gingerbread house ideas for our little ones which was impossible to find! This has some pictures but not kid friendly (our ages are 7 and 8). Many other gingerbread related articles in book. Best for adults.

Title: Small than I thought.
Review: The book is great. I really like the recipes and the images. Just wish the book was bigger. It's going to be very difficult to make print copies of the patterns in the back.

Review: When I saw this book I was so excited because I thought the author had written a new book about all the fun things you can do with gingerbread. Unfortunately I was wrong!! Basically this is the identical book but with a different cover!! Because this wasnât indicated when I was planning on buying it I decided to give it 4 stars instead of 5.Instead of sending it back, I decided to gift it. But I thought it was important to flag up that this author has 2 gingerbread books with 2 different covers with identical content! All the templates for all the different projects will all need to be enlarged on a photo copier. One thing the author hasnât mentioned but I think is important to mention that itâs best to get your photo copy, and buy some templateplastic. Trace around your paper template onto the template plastic, using a permanent marker with a fine tip, so you know exactly where to cut on the template plastic.Once you have made and chilled your gingerbread dough overnight preferably. This is very important and not to be skipped. Chilling the gingerbread helps prevent the gingerbread spreading/distorting its shape when itâs baking!! It also helps prevent the gingerbread puffing up too much too again distorting the shape making it easier when assembling it. Divide up your gingerbread dough and immediately put back the rest of the dough into the fridge to keep as cold as possible when not using it. Roll out your gingerbread fairly thinly and dust the work surface and top of the gingerbread with plain flour to stop it sticking, and sticking to your pre washed plastic temples.Pop the temples on top of your gingerbread and cut around it. You may wish to label your temples (A) (B) (C) so you have an idea which bits are what when cutting them out and then assembling them once cooked and cooled.Cutting around paper templates can lead to your pieces becoming distorted easily. The great thing about template plastic is that you can pop the pieces in a small sandwich bag, put inside the details from which book/page, and you will have the templates for life if you care for them well.Remember that template plastic cannot go into a dishwasher and it needs to be washed gently in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried immediately. When storing your templates, store them completely flat in cool environment. Heat will distort them.I use template plastic for different crafts and it very handy stuff to have. When cutting it, try and cut a neat edge. Lots of little cuts can cause a jagged edge on your template, use the middle edge of your scissors and not the tip of the scissors as you will get more control cutting them out.Having permanent templates to go along with this book would be fantastic to enable you and your family to make fantastic gingerbread projects for decades to come! This book makes excellent gifts to friends who enjoy baking specially around Children.Because I enjoy making gingerbread houses so much, I have decided that they donât have to be just for Christmas, you can make ordinary little houses from them.I particularly enjoyed making miniature gingerbread houses that can sit on the edge of a coffee mug. With left over gingerbread, I made shapes and popped them on top of my mince pies and gifted them to elderly people in my community.I made several mini gingerbread villages and I gifted them to adults and children in the food larder/food bank that I volunteer for and children in my community too.I used royal icing to glue the houses together and I used Royal icing to do flood work on top of the gingerbread. Colour ice the gingerbread and leave to dry overnight before assembling. You can buy royal icing pre made in boxes, just sieve and add water. You need different thickness to outline that the flood work itâs self. Details can be found on YouTube.Enjoy ð
