The definitive cookbook on grilling everything from appetizers to desserts from one of the country’s foremost experts and host of PBS’s Barbecue America.
Rick Browne is the author of twelve cookbooks, most of which deal with barbecue and grilling. In this volume, he’s created an encyclopedic collection of recipes drawn from cuisines around the world, with a particular focus on North American and Asian traditions.
Browne begins with a brief primer on basic grilling techniques, but the real substance of this book is the dazzling array of recipes. You’ll find dishes everyone can enjoy, including standard grill fare like beef and chicken as well as the more unusual shellfish and wild game. There are plenty of vegetarian options too, and a section for sauces, marinades, and rubs.
Never before have this many great grilling recipes been collected into one tome. If you love to grill—or know someone else who does—this is a must-have resource. It’s the only grilling recipe book you’ll ever need.
“I play around with my grills all the time, but I found loads of new ideas in this grill cookbook. Rockport Lobster and Shrimp Burgers—yum! . . . this cookbook offers many ways to branch out and step it up once the basics are mastered.” —Barbecue Master
“This is one amazing cookbook! I can see myself using this on a weekly basis to try new grilling recipes from around the world!” —BBQ Sauce Reviews

Title: Really unique
Review: Don't usually give anything 5 starts, but this book is great. There ARE, literally,1001 recipes, and many are the kind you won't find anywhere else. Lots of game dishes, even bear (imagine that!). Good sauces and rubs as well, the kind of stuff that makes grilling special.,

Title: Haven't tried all 1,001 recipes... yet
Review: Decent book for my kindle. I consider myself a decent cook/grillhead, and found a lot of the recipes to be average to very well. Useful for inspiration on taking their recipe/suggestion and making something of your own.Lots of recipes I'd never use (shellfish, fish, game birds) but that's because I don't eat them. However there are recipes for just about everything, including lamb (yum yum).Extra kudos for providing some grilling techniques. Really nice to have a quick reference and learn some useful tips & tricks.

Title: Good book, horrible presentation (Kindle)
Review: First, I would like to say that this is a good book on grilling and BBQ, with a huge assortment of recipes. Many books on outdoor cooking are long on lore and short on actual recipes, which is fine, but if you're primarily interested in recipes instead of stories or techniques, this is a great book for you. After a brief introductory chapter on basic concepts, Browne rolls out recipe after recipe. You will surely find several you want to try.Unfortunately, the Kindle formatting made the book difficult to read and impossible to use as a tool. The tables were misaligned, and most recipes stretched over several pages. I would re-purchase this book in hardcover or paperback, as it is a worthy addition to my library.

Title: 1001 things without an index
Review: No table of contents and the index is not interactive and does not take you to the menu item. The author needs to provide real page numbers then list the menu items 1) by page number and 2) list by types of food. Example is that the seafood section does not group fish or shellfish....just a mishmash of menus. This could be a great cookbook if it were organized

Title: Some new and good ideas to try on the grill.
Review: I like the cookbook, but many of the recipes are available elsewhere and not all the unique. Some require ingredients I may use once in a lifetime, and some need some grilling expertise to do them right. Some of the results are so-so, but most that I have tried have been to my liking - I would guess I have tried about 40 of them, and I am not gonna bother with the 300-400 or so I know I won't like or require too many ingredients.
