Title: Why has it taken this long
Review: Ive owned multiple MB smokers. My most recent one was the MB560 almost a year ago. Still running like a champ just may need to replace controller soon. Im fully aware of the quality to innovation ratio they are known for (cheaper parts for more innovative features). Very much worth it if you employ proper care and maintenance since it could last longer than the usual 3 to 5 years for these types of products. MB has outdone themselves with this grill/smoker. 0 to 550 in 14 to 20 mins and minutes to get to other temps. Easy to clean, lid gauge is about 10 to 20 off from center mass ambient so easy to work with. Only con would be some target temp numbers on the knob for convenience but 20 minutes of playing with it and you can figure out which notch is what for when the fan kicks in. Will be my daily driver for family meals. Best thing is its portability. Works with the dewalt battery pack mod I use for my MB560, but even better is the 4xAA batteries that makes it a perfect minimalist tailgating or family camping stove. Highly recommend

Title: Works well for the price
Review: Very easy to use. Charcoal lasts quite a while as long as it's not too cold out when you use it. I gave it 5 stars because of the price for what you get. Keeps temp at a very accurate setting and holds it as long as you have enough charcoal in it. I add small blocks of hardwood as well. Very cool unit for tailgating.

Title: What an amazing grill
Review: This grill exceeded my expectations, which were already high because it was a Masterbuilt. We'll start with the reason I bought this, I have a travel trailer and wanted something I could use anywhere and this is portable enough to go anywhere. It is sturdy, durable and easy to clean. I emailed Masterbuilt asking if I could like it with foil for an even easier clean and they replied as long as you don't cover the drain or airflow it's okay. Now, the best part, the results. Everyting has been amazing. I just did a side by side comparison cooking babyback ribs with this grill and my full size Masterbuilt. There was difference in the end product. Buy this grill, you won't regret it

Title: Great lil portable smoker
Review: This lil smoker got me back into smoking. I used to smoke semi frequently with a Weber bullet but when the number of meat eaters at my home dwindled I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I'm not the biggest fan of smoked leftovers but now I can smoke for 2 people and not feel like I wasted a bunch of charcoal only smoking for two. Here's pros/consProsSize, portability, temp control, and so far it seems like a high quality product that is built to lastConsThe grate isn't great for smoking. It's is essentially a sold piece of metal with some slits. So you really only get the smoke ring on 3 sides of your meat. I'll be replacing it with a grate that has better airflow under the meat.Their temp gauge is off.... it's a fair amount warmer than it says on the lid. I know you shouldn't depend on a temp gauge in a lid but I cant find my probes so on my first smoke when i was ready to foil my meat was already over 180°. This problem will be resolved when I find my probes. My handles are terrible. I thought since I just bought the grill I'd have the new slimmed down handles that are in the product photos but no. The old style handles are huge and make the grill a bit awkward to carry yourself. It essentially makes the grill's footprint 25-30% larger since the stick out so far. I really wish it had the new style handles. Not sure if I will be able to find an aftermarket solution but have thought about bending the handles upwards.NeutralThe paint they used on the hinges isn't heat safe. Saw a review that claimed the hinges are plastic and that's not the case. The bubbling is the paint only. It bubbled the first time I fired up the grill. I don't think it's a big deal but it would have been nice to either have the right paint used of just not paint the hinges. So there's definitely some room for improvement but so far I am really liking this grill. After a few tweaks I'm sure I'll love it. I'm just happy to be smoking again.

Title: Great Little Grill/UPDATE REVIEW
Review: When this was delivered there was a small dent on the box, which led to there being a small dent in the lid of the grill. Other than that, assembly was easy and the burn off went without a hitch. No other grill like this exists in the size and portability of this one. It produces great charcoal flavor and gets hot enough for a good sear. On a side noteâ¦I called Amazon to see if they could give me some sort of discount for the dent on the lid. To my surprise, they told me no and said Iâd have to return the entire grill for a refund. Since I needed it for the weekend, I guess Iâll see if I can just remove the lid and try to pound out the dent. IMO, itâs a rare fail for Amazon, but oh well!UPDATE**** Iâm getting temp swings all over the place. The baffle doesnât seem to stay in place and anything I cook on the charcoal hopper side cooks 5X faster than anywhere else on the grill. If the heat shield/baffle isnât pushed all the way against the charcoal hopper, prepare for massive flare ups. Iâm having regrets with this purchase. I wouldnât recommend this.

Title: I love this thing!
Review: Iâm a Weber Charcoal Grill guy who got the Masterbuilt 850 at Costco (floor model, clearance price) a few years ago. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. I wanted that convenience and this grill delivers. While you canât dial in an exact temperature, once you get a feel for it you can set a bunch of hot dogs or hamburgers on it and let it go. You get that great charcoal flavor with the ease of a gas grill. It doesnât take a lot of charcoal to power it for several hours and cleanup is a breeze. Make sure you season it properly and I donât see how youâll be upset with this purchase.

Title: Good product but bad QC
Review: Initially out of the box the locking latch was bent and the diffuser tabs were also bent. One of hinges was completely broken and the lid didn't line up. Emailed Masterbuilt and they sent me a replacement hinge and I was able to realign the lid and unbend the tabs. After two weeks of waiting for the parts I finally was able to fire the grill up and it was very efficient and turned out the best pork ribs I've ever cooked.
Customers say
Customers like the portability, flavor, and temperature control of the barbecue grill. They mention it's good for camping, produces great charcoal flavor, and is a great addition to their camping gear. Some also like the ease of use, ease of cleaning, and concept. However, some customers have reported that the hinges on the lid are poorly made. Opinions are mixed on its functionality.
