Title: Perfect and speedy delivery
Review: A sturdy m&p that comes with amazing instructions for care and seasoning. Includes a very necessary thin felt mat for the bottom of the mortar so as it doesn’t damage countertops or slide away. Very attractive so I have chosen to leave it out on display. Very comfortable to grip and use and easy to clean.Would buy again but I have a feeling this will last a lifetime!

Title: Works well and good instructions for a newbie
Review: I’ve used it way more times than I was expecting. Very heavy and sturdy, works well with grinding and mashing things.I like that it comes with a thin foam pad that you stick on the bottom to minimize impact with your counter. I still recommend using it over a small towel or something to dampen the impact on your counter and the sound that makes.It is heavy so it can be hard to pick up, empty it’s contents, clean etc. So that’s something to consider for those who might have hand/arm pain or weakness.It also is sizeable so need to find a place in my kitchen for yet another gadget but I do think it is worth the space. .Comes with very clear, simple and concise instructions for first time use and overall care (never use soap!). If they hadn’t had these instructions written very visibly and clearly I probably would have done it all wrong. Thankfully it caught my attention and all is well.I like that this is kind of like a wok. It soaks in a bit of whatever you are grinding and over time it can add seasoning back into what you grind in it.I now use it regularly to grind up my spices for chai tea, mash up ginger or garlic for recipes. Crush up peppers. Made ground roasted sesame for a homemade Chinese sesame paste. Very happy with this purchase.

Title: Perfect for grinding
Review: I had a smaller mortar and pestle that I used to like, but since we grow and grind our own herbs and spices, I needed larger one. This mortar and pestle was the perfect size that I needed. It’s not a lightweight either just the motor and pestle weighs in at 7 1/2 pounds if I removed the mortar it’s a little over 6 pounds so it tells you how heavy duty this marble is. The outside is very smooth. It’s black marble very heavy duty very sturdy. I’m very happy with it you’re in need of mortar and pestle I would highly recommend this brand. I’m able to mix seasonings of any kind in there and then price was very reasonable for the heavy duty of this mortar and pestle It’s very easy to hold. It’s very versatile. To do There is no lid and I don’t create any dust.

Title: A thing of beauty and function
Review: I ordered a kitchen utensil and a piece of art arrived! I can't stop looking at my beautiful mortar and pestle. I ordered the 2-cup black polished version and I am overjoyed with my choice. Never having used a mortar and pestle before, I was surprised at how easy it was to grind the rice that I used to begin the seasoning process. The pestle is easy to hold, is tall enough that my fingers are above the bowl (and not getting squished) and is heavy enough to easily grind against the mortar. And did I mention how beautiful the black polished finish is? This is a heavy implement ... it won't be sliding around on the counter. I look forward to many years of crushing spices, and making guacamole and pesto.

Title: first one delivered was chipped, but second was perfect
Review: i did have an issue with this upon arrival as a large chunk of the stone had been chipped away from the inside of the mortar, making it useless. however customer service was excellent and they shipped a new one to me which arrived the following day. since then ive used it at least three times a week making sauces, crushing herbs, and breaking down seasonings like peppercorns. its very heavy and very great quality in my opinion. i did season it by grinding uncooked rice and coarse salt until it turned into dust (about 10 min) and then wiped clean and wiped down with a bit of oil, then put it in my oven to proof/season. cant remember temp or how long but there are plenty of youtube tutorials you can seek out if its what you want to do. some people advise against it for various reasons but ive never had an issue using it this way, and ive owned several of these throughout my life. because of this i think i have a good understanding of what a good quality mortar and pestle set perform like, and this is definitely one of the better ones ive used.

Review: This ChefSofi Mortar and Pestle Set - 6 Inch - 2 Cup Capacity - Unpolished Heavy Granite for Enhanced Performance and Organic Appearance - Included: Anti-Scratch Protector is really nice and came with great instructions. I even got an email from the seller with more information and recipes.I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these. What prompted me was this last hurricane (Milton) where I was out of power for several days and still wanted to grind my daily whole flaxseeds. I was putting them in a silicone baggie and pounding them with a sledge hammer. That didn't work out so well. I decided to get a mortar and pestle and this one seemed the nicest. This works a lot better than the sledgehammer for grinding my flaxseeds.

Title: Makes Killer Salsa and Guacamole!
Review: It's technically not mine, but my brother uses pretty much religiously. It's fascinating how something so primitive can be so practical even today. I also used it once for making paint which surprisingly worked well being as it was my first time doing it. It is solid and quite heavy for its size.Some pointers I'd like to make is to make sure to sprinkle in salt before you start grinding. I was also told not use scented dish soap with it as it can soak into the mortar and pestle, leaving a soapy taste in it from then on forward.
