Title: Read through the first couple of chapters of the book.
Review: The author does help you understand the fretboard in 24 hours. Since I've read about a couple of things before and I've been playing guitar on and off before. So, I'm aware of a lot of the things the author has referred to. It is certainly a beginner's handy guide for the fretboard

Title: Extremely helpful and fun
Review: I knew I needed to learn The fretboard But what a daunting task. The 65 year old brain Just doesn't work like it used to But after going through the book I know I'm gonna be able to memorise what I need to and I know where to find the notes on the fretboard And who needs anything else. It's a fun read And there a lot of tricks and games To grind The boring information into my brain and make it stick. To our author thanks so much for the work put into this book in the little extras on the side. I'm off to read your next book

Title: Great set of books but get the individual tiles!
Review: I bought this combined set and then returned it, then ordered the individual titles. The reason I returned the set was that it was almost impossible to get to the table of contents of the books. The content is the same and great, however, in the combined set, the ability to get to or return to a particular section of the book was totally daunting if not impossible!Again the content is fantastic and well written. Buy the individual books.PS: I might say it is not easy to get to the table of contents in the individual books (The Go To Menu has to "Table of Contents" link). However, at least you know the Table of Content is somewhere in the first 10 pages of the individual titles.

Title: Guitar instruction
Review: So far this has helped me a lot with identifying and remembering where the different notes are on the guitar fretboard. I want to get serious about learning why things work and how they work on the guitar so I will hopefully be a better player and will learn how to "jam" with other guitar players.

Title: Gutar book generic review-
Review: I can possibly see why a lot of people with no guitar knowledge we won't find these books helpful.I am not a guitar expert but I have practiced and I do know the basic chords, with that in mind I thought these books were fantastic. They were filled with some knowledge that I already knew, but they were also quirky ways to help me memorize that information. These books also turned me on to some very easy guitar tricks that I had somehow been missing this whole time.

Title: Next to worthless if you want to learn classical guitar.
Review: I could tell from the picture on the front that it was for acoustic guitar, but I figured a guitar is a guitar and I could at least learn the fretboad and the notes before my first private lesson. WRONG! They should advertise this book as "Acoustic Guitar for Dummies Who Know Nothing about Music, are too Lazy to Learn and Want to Play Like a Pro NOW." The fretboard in 24 hours? If you know anything about music, it's more like 24 minutes. Even if you are a true beginner, once you know the chromatic scale (take about ten minutes to commit it to memory) it won't take you more than a minute to extrapolate it to the other strings. But if you want to know where the notes are on the staff, you're out of luck because it only teaches you the names of the notes. But wait! There's another section on scales. Okay, you assume, here's where I'll learn the notes. WRONG! Some of the first words in this section are " You don't have to read music to play the guitar." You don't HAVE to read music to play any instrument, but it sure helps to be able to communicate with other musicians. There isn't even the most basic music theory--which you absolutely must know if you ever get into that rock band and the other members read music. I mentioned my frustration with the book to my teacher and he just laughed. He said this kind of book is meant for a twelve-year-old who wants to be a rich and famous rock star tomorrow, and has no conception of how hard and long those real rock stars had to work. And most of them had to work harder because they didn't read music at the start. Basically, if you want to learn classical guitar--playing individual notes that make up songs and intricate finger-picking styles ("classical guitar" isn't just classical music)--this book is a waste of your money. If you can't afford lessons, there are a couple of decent free instructors on the internet and the Christopher Parkening classical beginner books would serve you much better. Actually, if your goal is to be a rock star, you'd still be better served to do the boring stuff and learn some music.

Review: I consider myself an intermediate player but I have recently swallowed my pride and taken stock of my weaknesses, one of which is fretboard familiarity - a super important skill now Iâve decided to work on my improvisation. The subject is treated in a much clearer way than any other explanation Iâve read before. Itâs the same information as everywhere else, just somehow easier to digest and process. As an example, the elegant method for identifying notes on the B string is simplicity itself compared to others Iâve read. Iâve yet to take a look at the other books in this set of three but Iâm hopeful that they will provide a similarly inspiring fresh take on scales. At just over £7 for the kindle version this is just over £2 per book. Literally cheap as chips. However much you think you know already, if youâre a beginner or intermediate you owe yourself to take plunge on this. You may just find a few nuggets of information that make your improvisation and guitar know-how a little stronger

Review: I liked the book, even though most of the things I already knew. I found it a bit basic, but I suspected that when I bought it. So my advise, if you are intermediate player and looking to learn scales and have some background, maybe you could look elsewhere. Having said that the book is not bad, it is good for someone who has no background of scales at all and they can really learn everything. I liked the simple fret visualization and memorization technique, you get it is 24 hours yes..but it takes a fair bit of practice for you to start seeing notes..which happened to me in a few weeks. The best thing that this book gave me was modes, I had tried to learn them on a couple of occasions in the past but had failed to really understand the essence of it. Finally I understood and enjoyed playing them. Lastly, the technique to memorize scales with one simple pattern is also quite helpful and very practical and logical way of looking at the fretboard. Hope this helps!
